Chapter 19 I'm really sorry

Even heavy makeup can't conceal Rahel's haggard face. In order to make herself look less frantic, she specially chose a set of colorful velvet evening dresses, a light rose red dress with a dark burgundy lace half skirt, and a strapless one. The neckline design brings out her round shoulders.

"Pretty!" Kai gave full marks to her dress. He took out a rectangular red velvet box from his suit pocket and opened the lid in front of her.

Inside is a shiny jade pearl necklace. Even Rahel, who doesn't usually like to wear jewelry, can see that this pearl necklace is expensive.

"Do you like it?" He took out the pearl necklace and wanted to put it on for her.

"It's too expensive, I can't take it--" Her refusal made his face become a little stiff from the original free and easy.

"Do you dislike what I gave you?"
