As he advanced further through the hallways, he came to a stop when he saw something emerge into the light.
Hae-Joon Kim:
"Excuse me-"
There stands someone behind the locker, half of their body sticking out.
Hae-Joon Kim:
"Uhm, excuse me? Can you come out?"
"H-hey... come out..."
They don't respond, no sway, no motion indicating they are breathing, just dead still.
Quivering, he slowly approached the ominous figure standing behind the locker, his gaze fixed on the person.
Hae-Joon Kim:
"C-come out..."
A sudden bump startled him, and he swiftly turned around.
Hae-Joon Kim:
"?!"
Startled, he leaped in fright, unleashing a high-pitched scream like a girl.
???:
"..."
"...Are you alright? Did I scare you? What the hell were you looking at?"
Realizing it was only his friend, he began to feel a slight welling of embarrassment and started smacking him in the chest.
Hae-Joon Kim:
"J- Ji-Hoon...?"
"Y- Yo- you idiot! Who the hell sneaks up behind a person? In the dark especially!? You creep!"
"Idiot! Idiot!"
The man softly chuckles as he sees how badly shaken up Hae-Joon is, he rubs the back of his head.
Ji-Hoon Kang:
"Yeah, sorry about that."
"Oh, and your shift is over right, that's why I'm here... if you were wondering."
Hae-Joon, seething with anger, grabs the top of his hat and hurls it at Ji-Hoon. With a pout on his face, he stomps away in embarrassment and annoyance, swiftly exiting the academy, relieved to be done with his shift.
Hae-Joon Kim:
"You're still an idiot!"
"Thank the Goddess I'm leaving this cursed place!"
Ji-Hoon Kang:
"Yep, Mhm, see you tomorrow too."
As he walks away, Ji-Hoon puts the hat on his head and walks, covering his face with the hat.
Ji-Hoon Kang/Kade Northwood:
"Shapeshift, Return."
He lifts it back up on his head, and his appearance changes back to none other than Kade Northwood, with a smirk creeping on his face. He approaches the unconscious body, which is leaned against and behind the locker, giving the illusion of standing.
Kade Northwood:
"Thanks for letting me borrow your body.
"I won't be too long."
With casual ease, he pushes it over, and the unconscious form slumps into the corner, revealing the true identity as Ji-Hoon Kang.
He continued to sneak through the hallways, checking and reading the signs atop the doors that identified the room types. Continuing his journey through the corridors, he sensed a lantern's glow.
Kade Northwood(INT):
"This is no ordinary academy, a student being here would make this a boarding school."
Kade Northwood:
"Shapeshift, Recrudesce."
Changing his form and reshaping into Ji-Hoon Kang, he released a smile while approaching the tired student clutching the lantern.
Ji-Hoon Kang(Kade Northwood):
"Hey kid, you doing alright? Why're you up so late?"
???:
"Uhh, the loud scream of a woman woke me up, I went up to check and see of anyone is hurt."
Ji-Hoon Kang(Kade Northwood):
"Don't worry, I just accidentally gave my friend a little scare."
"I'm sorry if you're a bit shaken up."
???:
"N- no, I'm alright... I'll just go back to bed."
Ji-Hoon Kang(Kade Northwood):
"Yeah, just go quickly head back."
"Goodnight."
???:
"Goodnight."
The tired student turned and walked back up the stairs, while Ji-Hoon(Kade) went back to searching around the academy for a prolonged time. After a few moments, he came to a stop at a door with a sign that read—"Headmistress: Sun-Hee Baek."
Ji-Hoon Kang(Kade&INT):
"There it is."
He picklock opened the door and headed inside.
The Headmistress's room was moderately spacious, adorned with several wooden file cabinets. He grabbed a file from out his bag and planted it on the Headmistress's desk to be opened.
He entered the file cabinets, examining the student files to verify and ensure that Kades file, housing fake credentials and information, appeared convincing alongside authentic student records.
As he turned through additional pages of the student files, he halted at a students profile picture featuring a red fingerprint in the bottom left corner.
Ji-Hoon Kang(Kade&INT):
"Of course you'd need the fingerprint to be certified."
Ji-Hoon(Kade) roams the office, scrutinizing the walls, floors, and furniture, as if in search of something.
Ji-Hoon Kang(Kade&INT):
"The shapeshifting ability exceeds simply touching someone, allowing for the magic to remember and replicate the form of anyone the caster has ever come in contact with."
He drops to his knees, bending low to examine beneath the desk. A smirk crosses his face as he reaches beneath, retrieving an item from the ground.
Ji-Hoon Kang(Kade&INT):
"While physical touch upon a person's body is essential, it is not the only requirement for the magic to remember the individual and replicate them for transformation."
"A person's DNA is all that's needed to activate the shapeshifting ability."
Ji-Hoon(Kade) stood up, unveiling the object retrieved from under the desk on the floor was a lone, long black hair strand, with a smirk etched on his face.
The fingers gripping the hair strand emanated a glow before dropping it, all the while saying to himself.
Ji-Hoon Kang/Kade Northwood:
"Shapeshift, Return."
He shapeshifts back into his original appearance before conjuring another chant.
Kade Northwood:
"Shapeshift."
His appearance transforms into that of a beautiful middle-aged woman with long black hair and yellow eyes. He looks at himself in the mirror at the side of the office, scrutinizing the woman he has taken the form of.
Sun-Hee Baek(Kade&INT):
"What a beautiful and ageless woman, like a fine wine that only continues to improve with time."
He searches through the shelves in the desk, pulls out an ink pad, and places it on the desk. He opens the ink pad, inserts his thumb into the ink, and puts a fingerprint on the bottom left corner of the profile picture of a young man that is yet to be revealed.
Sun-Hee Baek(Kade&INT):
"Although this plan went successfully as expected, eventually they'll find out that this student file is false."
"But this will give me enough time to learn more about this world."
(INT) means "In Thought" as in thinking.
(MRY) means "Memory" as in remembering something.
