Chapter 9 - Trials

I looked up to see a mighty purple scaled dragon with its teeth bared and wings open.

"Welcome mortals, to the Azure Dragon God Trials."

I looked back at Ying'er to see her eyes widened and eyebrows raised at the name of Azure Dragon God.

It seemed like the Azure Dragon God was a bigshot, I would have to be careful of my word choices around. Ying'ers reaction further proved it.

"You are the first mortals I have seen a decade, hopefully you will not let down my expectations and be able to inherit my legacy," its majestic deep voice boomed through the forest.

I looked again at his body except this time with my Rinne-Sharingan.

His energy was strangely familiar to Xi'ers, except his was more vigorous and fierier.

Shaking me from my daze, he spoke again, "The trials will entail 3 parts, 1st is the trial of talent then 2nd is the trial of willpower and finally, the 3rd trial is the trial of character. The trials will start in 10 seconds."

"Good luck Ken!" Ying'er shouted from her disc while smiling and giving me a thumbs up.

I smiled in response then waved back at her, assuring her that I would be fine.

I dissolved into particles then I reappeared in a dark cave filled with stone dragon warriors holding spears and swords.

'There are 10 waves of these warriors, each wave will become harder. Good luck'

The dragon warriors were all True Profound realm, there were 15 in total. They all rushed towards me at the same time, with no tactic or plan.

'Amaterasu' I whispered then once again, the devil-like flames emerged from my eye and flew towards the warriors. I knew there shouldn't be any backlash, mainly because the targets were so low levelled.

The warriors stood no chance, they were fully devoured with nothing left.

Using Amaterasu, I easily passed through the 9 waves until the last wave came. My eye was already leaking out a bit of blood, but it was still usable.

I didn't want to use Amaterasu for the last wave because I didn't want to overstrain my eye. I decided to use my cultivation art.

'The Void God Devouring Arts' was a manual that Ying'er found for me when she was in the Absolute Realm of Beginning. It was an extremely hard to comprehend but very powerful when you do comprehend it.

It allowed me to freely control the void, however one must have perfect affinity with all the elements because everything originated from the void.

The last wave finally revealed itself.

Eh? There's only one stone warrior this time? Wait, his aura was far more powerful compared to his predecessors.

The sword he wielded was not made from stone, it was a sky profound black sword which matched with his sky profound realm.

He launched himself towards me with his sword slashing down on me, unlike the other warriors, he actually had a sword technique.

As the sword was about to hit me, I activated my 'Void God's Devouring Body', it allowed parts of my body to join the void which allowed parts of my body to phase through physical attacks.

When the sword passed through my body, I immediately moved behind him then my body returned back to its physical state.

'Void God's Devouring Palm' my hand, covered in a black aura with twinkling stars, pressed onto his neck, instantly snapping the head off.

The black aura with twinkling stars started to devour the stone body slowly until nothing was left.

*Huff* *Huff*

I panted heavily after the I used two Void God Arts in succession.

My strength is still far too low to consecutively use Void God Arts and I still can't display the arts full power.

'Congratulations on finishing the first trial.'

'The next trial is the trial of willpower. You will be placed in a mountain range with 9999 profound beasts. The time limit to eliminate all profound beasts is 2 months. Good Luck'

Once again, I dissolved into particles and reappeared next to a river and forests surrounding me.

Immediately, multiple true profound tigers surrounded me with teeth bared and killing intent overflowed.

I was still tired from my Void God Arts, so I used my Spirit Realm pressure to kill them.

I got on my knees and scooped water from the river then drank it in haste. The water was revitalizing my energy and I sat down and started to cultivate to regain my energy.

After breaking down the dragon god's barrier and beating the 5th Sky Profound Realm allowed me to break through to Spirit Profound Realm. My innate talent was extremely high, through battles I would have massive breakthroughs, honestly, it was quite an unfair thing.

It seems I have unlocked kamui, I should also be able to use space-time magic now. All sorts of techniques appeared in my head, they all revolved around space-time.

I will focus on space-time techniques and the Void God Arts, mainly because the bloodline abilities I have, are very easy for me to use but have big drawbacks if I overuse them.

So far, only 3 space-time techniques are feasible for me to use:

Time stop – The wielder can stop the targets time for 0.5 seconds. The higher the cultivation, the longer you can stop the targets time for.

Space distort – The wielder can distort the target, creating a small gravity hole that will drag the target to the center of the hole. Loses its effectiveness when the target is too strong.

Space-Time Vortex – Combine both space and time to form a vortex devouring any living being within its vicinity. The vortex is unable to devour anything that is a lot more powerful than the wielder.

(Afternoon)

My stomach rumbled in hunger, my hair was messy, and robe had multiple tears in it.

Usually Ying'er or Xi'er would have already fixed these problems but they weren't here. I had to do everything myself.

I discarded the robe; it only restricted my fighting prowess. I continued hunting for food topless.

*Yelp*

A True Profound Deer walked into my trap that I had set up earlier, it lay there caught up in an extremely strong rope that I had created just for this.

Grabbing a sword made of Amaterasu, I stabbed down toward its ribs, ending its pitiful life.

The sword even roasted all the meat for me, according to my desires.

I cut apart parts of the meat and stuffed into my salivating mouth.

Mmm, delicious.

I tore apart all the edible parts and eat all of it.

After eating all the edible parts, I grabbed the rope and left the carcass then continued to hunt profound beasts.

---------------------1 Month later

Surrounded by the last 10 spirit realm beasts that I need to kill. I was more than ready to destroy them all.

I wielded the sword made of Amaterasu flames, slashing towards the first lion that had pounced towards me.

The sword is sliced through its body before I quickly moved towards the cougar that was next to the lion.

I was no longer the naïve boy a month ago, I knew how to properly deal with beasts and large clumps of them.

Taking care of the lion and cougar so easily, the rest of the beasts look at me in caution.

I warped behind the griffin that was alone, I pierced its hide, letting the flames eat it whole.

3 of the beasts jumped me, teeth bared and claws out, ready to rip my body.

'Void God Devours the World', a beam of black and white twinkling lights emerged from my palm and eroded the 3 bodies into nothing.

4 beasts were left, they eyed me cautiously before coming to a silent agreement with each other. They surrounded me from all sides.

'Tenseigan Chakra Mode', my body entire glowed in a neon blue light with black stripes over my face and body. 6 truth-seeking balls emerged from my back and span behind my back.

My cultivation was boosted to Peak of Spirit Realm and all abilities were much easier to use.

All truth-seeking balls flew into palm, creating a ball of white and black aura with the power of Samsara and Reincarnation in it. 'Sphere of Samsara'

I blasted the ball towards the highest-level beast which instantly killed it then flew to the next one, also killing it before the truth-seeking balls returned to its normal state and returned to my back.

The last two shot flames and lightning bolts toward me, last ditch attempt trying to kill me. Staking everything they had on these flames and bolts.

I teleported to the left, dodging the flames and bolts. The beasts were panting in exhaustion from using all the profound energy and I ended their lives with a stab.

'Congratulations on finishing the 2nd trial, now we will be moving onward to the last trial.'

I left the 10 dead beasts and reappeared in a very familiar place.

The Brahma Monarch Realm.

I was back in here again, Xi'er and Ying'er were currently talking to each other and drinking tea while Qingyue was in Xi'er arms.

While they drank tea, I sat in Ying'ers arms with my 4-year-old body. Ying'er was patting my head and had a lovely smile on her beautiful face.

This was my dream moment, everyone I loved and liked was here. Then suddenly, a dagger appeared in my hand.

'Kill them if you want my legacy' The dragon god's voice spoke in my mind.

I looked toward them and immediately shook my head when I saw their joyful faces.

Throwing the dagger away, I shouted in anger, "I would never forsake my family for power!"

'Are you sure? With my legacy, I promise you can have anything you want in the world. You could have power, riches and beauties. The world would be in your grasp. No one would be able to stop you.' Like a snake, the voice tried to slither into my head.

Even after all the promises, I resolutely said, "No. Even if the world is in my grasp, there would be no point in living if I didn't have my family with me."

'Hahaha, what a good boy. I like your resolution and character. Congratulations on finishing the last trial. It was a test of character and you have passed it.'

'You will inherit 3 drops of my origin blood and dragon bone marrow. The bone marrow will greatly increase your physical constitution and the blood will allow you to use the Dragon Slayer Arts.'

A vial of purple blood appeared in my hands and a set of bones fitting my body appeared in front of me. I downed the blood and move into the bones.

The bones merged into my body, creating an excruciating pain. It felt like my whole body was growing and my body became more and more dragon like.

Some black scales emerged on my arms and small black and white wings emerged from my back.

The dragon god looked closely at my eyes, 'Those eyes, I have seen them before. I guess the Primal Chaos does have hope for the upcoming tournament of the universes.' He thought before fading away.
