Lauritz's POV

"You said you were done with the treatment, Alseirigh or whatever you've been doing with him, doctor. Why hasn't him waken up, already?"

Lauritz was walking around the Shadow Physician's cell for several hours until now.

He glared at the scholar, and the old man just glared back, seemingly trying to act nonchalant.

However, the old man's voice betrayed him as soon as he spoke.

"I don't know! Do you think I know everything about what happens to a body like Johan's after they go through Alseirigh? It's not like-"

"Shh!" Lauritz raised a finger and fell silent.

As soon as the young guard made the sound, Blackwood followed the cue and listened.

Nothing.

For several seconds.

Until the scholar almost broke the silence.

He hesitated for a moment before speaking.

Then he heard it.

The sound of footsteps nearing the door of his cell.
