The 'Bug' in the Room of Treasures!

"Next Demon King Slayer, huh? Such bold claims for a mere human!" The small Gray-scaled Dragon-like monster said as it opens its eyes—glaring towards Arturo.

Arturo simply chuckled in response and said coldly, "I advise you, respected Great Guardian, not to underestimate humans! There's already someone who regretted underestimating humans' capabilities… Especially my capabilities!"

"If you're so confident with your capability, human… Then, why are you standing before us?" The small Black-scaled Dragon-like monster smirked as it opens its eyes—looking down and underestimating Arturo.

"For assurance!" Arturo coldly said in response. Then, he added, saying, "Assurance that none of you would land into the hands of a Demon, or anyone else who would stand in my way in killing the Demon King!"

"It's not that I am afraid to face any, nor all of you, but… It wouldn't hurt me to try bringing all of you to my side, if possible, right?" Arturo chuckled—consequently making the red, green, black, and white small dragon-like monsters open their eyes and glare at him.

"Interesting…" The small red-scaled dragon-like monster said before smirking evilly. Then, it asked, "You said that you want all of us… But how are you going to do that when you can only establish a contract with 1 treasure from this Divine Space?"

Arturo simply smirked and asked, "Is it really necessary to make the contract here in this place, in the first place? Can't we do it once we leave this place?"

"Hahahaha!" The small Black-scaled Dragon-like monster laughed out loud in response before asking, "If we aren't going to make a contract… Then, how are you going to take us out of this place? Are you freaking d@mb, human?"

Arturo simply shook his head and said, "You're right, Great Guardian! That's if… I am an Original Dweller in the world of Larwan!"

"Sadly… I am not!" Arturo smirked before flicking his fingers. Then, he said, "System!"

At this moment, a holographic system interface appeared right in front of Arturo. It displayed the first tab—which was the Personal Information tab.

That said, Arturo was not concerned about any of his Personal Information, thus, he simply switched to the third major tab in the system interface.

The System Inventory.

The System is a game-like feature that is only available to the humans who were transmigrated from Earth.

And, no one knows the exact reason why they were the only humans who have such ability—not even the Demon King himself.

Moving on… The System has several tabs that change from time to time. That said, there were permanent tabs in it, namely, the Personal Information tab, the Skills tab, the Inventory tab, and the Utility tab.

It closely resembled a Player Interface in an MMORPG game. However, its functions were only limited to being sources of certain information, and being a limited 'Spatial' Storage itself.

It was akin to a combination of an inferior clairvoyance skill and a 'spatial storage' skill.

Going back to the System Inventory, or also known as the Inventory tab… It was a special kind of storage that was kind of a bug in the World of Larwan.

Anything stored inside the System Inventory remains how it was right after it was stored in it.

Newly cooked food remains fresh and hot when stored in the System Inventory, regardless of time or how long it passed since the food was stored.

Minerals, like iron, remained unaffected by whatever weather the human encounters during the transport, thus, keeping its 'purity' and quality at its maximum.

Smells of smelly items are also suppressed and aren't able to leak out of the System Inventory.

But on top of it all… Mana signatures or Mana presence of items does not also leak out of the System Inventory—thus making it the seemingly perfect storage to hide anything in the World of Larwan.

And, yes… The Room of Treasures was not an exemption to the bug called the System Inventory.

In Arturo's past life... A lot of people exploited this 'bug'—enabling them to obtain two or more Artifacts in the Room of Treasures.

Unfortunately for the likes of Arturo, he was amongst the first ones to enter the ROom of Treasures in his past life, so, he was only able to obtain one Artifact.

Well… That was true only to those people who were able to successfully convince the respective Guardians of the Artifacts to do so!

The famous 'bug' called 'Artifact Pre-Contracting'!

Going back to the story…

Arturo smirked and asked, "So… May I know who are interested in joining my quest to defeat the big @ss Demon King?!"

"A human with an innate irregular ability..." The small Red-scaled Dragon-like monster smirked. Then, it chuckled before saying, "Just make sure to form a contract with me, later on! Else… I think you already know what would be the consequences if you don't!"

The small red-scaled dragon hopped down his crib-like seat. Then, it pulled the double-edged two-handed sword of the crib-like seat and threw it towards Arturo. Whilst in the air, the small red dragon transformed into the sword's scabbard.

Now, the sword had a perfectly matching scabbard—made out of the same red dragon's scale material.

Consequently, the incredibly hot aura emanated by the sword was suppressed—allowing Arturo to catch and hold the sword with his bare hands.

"You don't need to worry, Great Guardian!" Arturo confidently said before storing the sword and its scabbard to his System Inventory.

"Wa-Wa-Wa!" The small Black-scaled Dragon-like monster cried in response. Then, it smirked and said, "That's quite a surprising decision made by the leader of the 'Picky Clan'! Hahahaha!"

"Anyway… I also find this human interesting! So…" The small Black-scaled Dragon-like monster chuckled before it stood.

Like the small red dragon, the small black dragon threw a similar-looking sword but was made out of a black dragon's scales. Then, the small black dragon also transformed into a scabbard—consequently suppressing the corrosive aura that the sword was emanating.

Eventually, the light, the wind, and the gray dragon followed—leaving only the water and the Land dragon in their crib-like seats.

Arturo stood in front of them for several more minutes but… The two remaining Great Guardians didn't even move a single bit. Thus, Arturo had no choice but to leave them instead.

"It is my great honor to meet you, Great Guardian of the Great Artifact of Water, and Great Guardian of the Great Artifact of Land! I, Arturo Cruz, shall be taking my leave!" Arturo bowed respectfully before turning his back from the throne room like part of that place.

"Godspeed, young human!"

"Godspeed, human!"

The two Great Guardian said as Arturo starts to walk away from them.

Arturo simply smirked and said, "Thanks!"

Arturo returned walking back afterward.

At this moment, the previously colorless Artifacts were now shining bright. Some of their guardians were even patiently waiting for him to pass by.

Of course, utilizing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Arturo carefully selected the Artifacts to store in his System Inventory because it only has a base limit capacity of 50 slots.

Unfortunately, each artifact was unique from each other, thus, the 'stacks mechanics' on each slot of the System Inventory was not capitalized by Arturo.

In the end, aside from the five Dragon's Remnants Artifacts, Arturo was able to obtain 45 more Artifacts of different elemental affinity and use.

"It's time to end my visit to this place!" Arturo said as he arrives in front of a Katana that was stabbed into the floor with its scabbard.

Unlike the Greatest Artifacts, this Katana looked simple and was seemingly made of common black steel with a spherical hole at the middle of its handle. It emanated a strong brown aura that was repelling anything, even other Artifacts, around it.

"Stop staring at me from the ceiling, you big @ss golem!" Arturo said in a cold tone. But before the black rock standing upside down in the ceiling could react, Arturo added, saying, "Form a contract with me, so that I can leave this place!"

The dark block golem lifted its feet of the ceiling—allowing him to fall just right above the Dark Black Katana's handle.

It magically levitated in the air for a second and respectfully bowed toward Arturo, before transforming into a pebble-sized stone that eventually fit in the spherical hole on the Katana's handle.

Arturo simply smirked and pulled the Katana off the ground. Then, he said, "I, Arturo Cruz, acknowledge this weapon as my own!"

In the next second, the dark brown repelling aura spreads across Arturo's body until he was completely enveloped by it.

At the same time, after blinking his eyes, he somehow finds himself, in front of the huge golden door of the Room of Treasures.

The Golden Door opened automatically whilst an unknown force sucked him out of the Room of Treasures.

Of course, Arturo did not offer any kind of resistance and left the room himself.

Afterward, he was welcomed by his mother—who was worried, and his little sister—who was seemingly very happy as if she got a new friend.

"Well… That was fast!" The Paladin mocked Arturo—who got contracted with an Artifact that has a Land Elemental Affinity.

Author's Note:

The reason why the Paladin actually said 'That was fast' was because although it took Arturo probably hours inside the Room of Treasures, outside—in the world of Larwan, only a few seconds passed.

So, in the Paladin's perspective, it really was just a very short period of time.

That is also the reason why his mom and his little sister only took a few seconds inside the Room of Treasures—From the perspective of those who were outside the Room of Treasures.

~~~End of Author's Note~~~
Arturo simply forced out a smile whilst rubbing the back of his head and saying, "It took me ages deciding which Artifact to get though…"
The Paladin stole a glance towards the Katana on Arturo's hand and said, "At least… You got a decent one for a Land Elemental Affinity Artifact!"
Arturo simply bowed in response and said, "Thanks for your compliment!"
