Chapter 1
The downfall of a Kingdom
The throne room was immense, and even in its current state, its magnificence would be without question to anyone who laid eyes on it.
The once pristine walls have been filled with holes of arrows, the priceless paintings have been burned with holy magic, and the men that once protected this place…now lay dead on the floor, staining the once perfectly immaculate white marble tiles.
Sitting on the throne was one man with long black hair, a prominent beard, and piercing sky-blue eyes that were now filled with rage.
At the bottom of the stair that led to the throne were the ones responsible for the destruction.
"So, the four Kingdoms have united forces to destroy everything I have built." He directed his gaze at one of the invaders. A tall old man with red leather armor and a great sword in his hand.
"You didn't dare to come alone, Old man?"
"Enough of this, King of Sundar." The one who spoke was a thin young man with blonde hair, green eyes, and pointy ears. He carried a long bow and was the main responsible for most of the holes in the walls. He was the ruler of the Elixir Kingdom.
"We have evidence that You were planning an invasion into our lands!"
"That's right, You greedy bastard!" The new speaker was a robust but short man with an axe that was almost as big as himself. The dwarf King of Ylem.
"For years, We have heard about the terrible sins committed in this Kingdom. It is time for holy retribution! This is the Gods will." A middle age woman with a white robe said. She carried a luxurious golden staff with a big ruby encrusted on the top. She was the ruler of the Holy Kingdom of Aglioso.
"Hmph, I would gladly have come here alone. But why would I deny the chance to seek justice to the other Kings?." The last King said. He was the King of Galdam and the main instigator of this war.
"Worthless words." The man on the throne said, He didn't raise his voice but his words carried authority like no other.
"You and I know the real reason for all of this!" He pointed his finger at the King of Galdam.
"You want the artifact that fell from the sky. I can see the greed in your eyes. After all of your failed attempts with thieves and assassins, this is what you resort to?"
The elf King of Elixir looked surprised.
"King Galdam is this true? Have you recruited our assistance under deceitful means?"
"I don't give a shit about that!, but if there is an artifact valuable enough to even temp You, I would like to know." The dwarf King of Ylem spat.
Galdam raised his hands in a placating manner. "Please, my fellow rulers, do not listen to this barbarian lies. He is just trying to turn us against each other. Besides, I have already agreed to split all valuables equally among our Kingdoms."
"King Galdam is right, there is nothing to gain by arguing among ourselves. We came here with the sacred mission of eliminating this sinner! that is what we must do!." The holy woman said.
The four kings took out their weapons and ready for battle.
The king of Sundar stood from his throne and took hold of the spear that rested at its side.
"Even if I die, I'll take you down with me, Old bastard!." He swore while staring at King Galdam.
Sundar lowered his position, adopting a rush-down pose.
[First stance: Point break] The ground tiles cracked as He moved. The next second, He was in front of Galdam, his pear prepared to pierce his head.
Galdam barely managed to rise his greatsword sideways to block the spear. A loud clanking noise was heard and a crack started to appear on Galdams sword.
The old King grunted.
"Now!" He yelled.
The other three Kings were placed at very specific points, surrounding Sundar. They all clasped their hands together.
Sundar realized what they were doing.
'A formation! I need to move!'
But it was already too late. White chains erupted from the ground and tied themselves to Sundar's arms and legs, forcing him to drop his spear.
Galdam chuckled. "Having some trouble there?"
Sundar gave a roar and started to pull on the chains with all of his might. The chains rattle as he pulls them.
"Damm, He is crazy strong!" The dwarf King yelled.
"Finish him off! this won't hold him for long." The Saint Queen demanded.
The king of elixir started to sweat.
"How is he so powerful!, He is going to break the formation, hurry!"
The smile on Galdam's face disappeared. He quickly pulled up his sword and brought it down.
In a great feat of might, Sundar managed to break the chains on his arms and blocked Galdam's greatsword using his bare hands.
The old king was shocked.
"Monster!"
'This must be the effect of the divine treasure!' He thought.
Sundar pushed the greatsword to one side and punched Galdam right in the face, breaking his nose and making him fall.
The other Kings were forced to drop the formation since it wasn't doing much anymore and went to help Galdam.
The Saint Queen conjured a wave of holy fire that Sundar barely avoided by rolling to one side but was then hit by one of the Elven King's arrows.
This did nothing to deter him. He rushed at Galdam, not bothering with his spear anymore, and started to bash his head using only his fits.
He was hit with several more arrows and burned with fire, but in his frenzied state, Sundar did not stop. If He was going to die, He was at least determined to take the Old King with him. The greedy bastard that started the whole thing, otherwise, the souls of his followers will never rest.
The dwarf King of Ylem arrived at Sundar's side with his axe in hand. With a determined swing, He cut Sundars head.
The three Kings breathed heavily after the stressful fight. They could not believe that a single man had given them soo much trouble, after all, they were the most powerful beings in their respective Kingdoms.
"Quick, go heal Galdam." The Elf King said.
But when the Saint Queen took a look at the old man, she just shook her head.
"I'm afraid there is nothing I can do…the King of Galdam has perished."
"Hmph! He couldn't take a few punches." The Dwarf King commented.
"Don't say that. Those were hardly normal punches. I know you noticed too, but there was a great deal of divine energy in those attacks. Any of us would be dead in those circumstances" The elf king said.
The dwarf looked away in anger but said no more.
"We must inform our troops of our victory. I'm afraid that defeating those infidels was quite costly." Lamented the Saint Queen.
"Yes, and then we raid the treasury! I bet this guy had a lot of riches." The dwarf King said with enthusiasm.
The elf King sighed "Can't you think of something other than gold?…"
During their conversation, they all failed to notice the faint shine on the ring that Sundar was wearing. A mistake that their descendants will have to pay for.
