This Is The Reason

"Should I say I am no longer shock?" Amethyst suddenly said when she and Slate were walking up towards Scarlets room.

"What is it?" Slate asked, as she stopped on her tracks.

"Those two people, the man helping the woman. The woman looking sickly and is wearing a hospital gown. Can you see them?" Amethyst said gesturing with her chin towards the two people.

When Slate looked in front, there was indeed two people who are walking ahead.

They were looking from one side to another as they walked on the corridor.

Looking at their faces, he looked down at her, "Are they?"

She nodded her head, she was now thinking whether to walk on a different direction or act as if she didn't see them.

Though if she did act that way, knowing the reason why they are here in the first place. They would surely approach her first.

"Ah truly, my life is really going on as if it was in a novel right now," she sighed.

Just as the two people looked towards their direction, Slate pushed her to the wall and covered her from their sight.

He acted as if he was telling her something serious.

And since he wasn't wearing a doctor's gown, no one would think that the doctor was flirting with someone. Instead it may just seem as if they are talking about a family in the hospital or something.

Amethyst was stunned but just as the two people walked past them.

"You do understand we need to think deeply about Father's condition before we can decide whether he should really not take the surgery or not," Slate suddenly said shocking her.

She was able to snap out of it when she noticed that the two people are glancing at them. So, she bowed her head allowing her hair to cover her face.

"But, if he don't take the surgery now. His life would be in even more danger," she sniffed as she said this.

Their voices were loud enough for those two to hear them.

They stopped glancing on their side and started walking farther from them.

Amethyst could only sigh again, "Thanks."

"You can escape now but you will surely face them sooner," Slate then said as he stepped away from her.

He only did what he did a while ago because she looks like she really didn't want to speak to them. Not even a single word.

And seeing how they were walking a while ago, it was obvious that they were looking for someone while using their identity as a patient to stay in the hospital 24 7.

"I know, I already feel tired just by thanking about it," she replied as they continued to Scarlet's room.

"Seeing as they actually entered the hospital, they were in a rush to find you. That Adam person must have told them that you come to the hospital in a daily basis. But you didn't come for a week so I guess something happened to them for them to end up as a patient. Thinking up to that point, they can roam the hospital all they want just to find you," he suggested.

"What's going on?" Scarlet asked seeing their look and hearing a part of what Slate had just said.

"Just as what we have thought, my parents are here," Amethyst said.

"Here, in the hospital?" Scarlet asked again.

"Yes, I guess they no longer have the money to hire someone to look into where I am everyday. Since Adam stormed off just like that, he and Emerald must have had a fight and my parents being the super hero they were, told them that they will take care of it."

Amethyst shook her head at how much she understands the way they act.

"What do you plan on doing now?" Scarlet asked her.

Amethyst and Slate sat down on the chairs by the table.

"That was also my question for her a while ago," Slate said.

"I can't always runaway. I am no longer scared of them. I am also no longer going to be affected by them. But just thinking of all the things they will throw at me just to make me return. I am already tired by it," she replied.

Her meaning was simple, if she will have to talk to them then she will speak with them. But she will stand her ground and that they are no longer people who will make her life mesirable again.

"If that is what you want then we have nothing more to say. Just try your best not to walk on your own in the hospital. At the very least be with other people so that we would be able to lead of it instantly," Scarlet said.

A commotion in the hospital will surely reach their ears, especially when Amethyst only walks around areas close to Scarlet's room.

"I understand but I think I would be staying most of the time inside. We have some organizing to do," Amethyst said bringing out her laptop.

"I shall go and clock in now," Slate stood up and said.

They nodded their head towards him.

"Why is there something wrong?" Scarlet asked Amethyst.

"I just noticed bits and pieces of the written story that are contradicting each other," Amethyst said.

Scarlet was looking at her with a smile, despite Amethyst saying that she was unsure of how she should continue when Scarlet is gone.

She didn't stop trying her best to keep the story at its best.

"This is the reason that I really couldn't let you go no matter what," she blurted out.

Amethyst looked up from her laptop with her brows furrowed.

"What are you suddenly talking about?" she asked her.

"I am saying that you really are a true author, someone who has both the passion and criticism towards writing, creating an excellent piece of work," Scarlet said with a laugh.

"Stop that," Amethyst turned red.

She wasn't used on being complimented when it comes to her being an author and so this sudden straightforward compliment, made her flustered.

"What's this? Are you blushing now?" Scarlet teased.

Amethyst just looked at her sharply before returning her eyes on her laptop, there's no point in arguing with her.

Scarlet once again laughed, "You can accept all the compliments thrown at you. As long as your feet are firmly rooted to the ground, then you can freely accept them."

Amethyst looked up at her again when she heard how serious she was.

"It is because I have seen so many who went to high up that they had forgotten what really caused them to get to where they are. The stories they created after that turned for the worst," Scarlet said with a sigh.

"They are the ones who started with the passion and love but the fame caused them to forget who they once were. They are the ones who had fallen in love but their love was defeated by popularity," Amethyst added afterwards.

She, too, have seen so many of them that she had wished that she would never reach that point.

"The reason why I never really wanted to be in public, it became my protection from such kind of happening because I don't know whether I could become that type of person or not. I was so unsure that I just gave up on being in public," Amethyst once again said.

Scarlet stared at her for a while before she smiled, "I think you are not that type of person. I can tell that you will be someone who will remain humble no matter what. Though you should stop being embarrassed from compliments because that is one of the perks when you have talent over something."

Amethyst just shook her head and smiled.
