Ch 8: Registration at the Adventurer Guild

Margrave Theodor Canvisiny was in his study signing important documents when suddenly his doors were knocked loudly. Getting his permission, a steward entered the room and reported

"Master, the bandit group 'Ferocious Dread' along with its leader [Heavy Crusher] Garder with B-class combat strength was caught. Three other small bandit groups were also included. They are now detained in the guard's building. But the heavy crusher is too strong so they are asking for reinforcement, even tho the person who caught him have used some technique to paralyze him. Please tell us your order, master?"

Hearing that Theodor blanked out for a moment. He asked to confirm

"That insanely tricky bandit group was caught?"

Upon seeing his stuart nodding he asked anxiously

"Who did it? Was it [Five Armaments] or [Azure Legion] ?"

Those were the two A-class adventurer parties inside Rin. Stuart answered with a crease between his brows

"No it wasn't them. It was an unknown traveller. She is coming here for the first time. According to the guard captain, she is not even an adventurer but is going to register here as one. She is supposedly extraordinarily beautiful."

Hearing this the dumbfounded margrave muttered

"An extraordinarily beautiful female who is strong enough to capture the 'Ferocious Dread'. Just who in the world is she? For now I have to think of a suitable reward for that. I haven't seen her but if the descriptions about her are even half truth, how does becoming my concubine sound?"

When the margrave was rising such death flags, Elena was taking a leisurely stroll in the streets of Rin.

She was tasting all types of Street foods one after another. Everyone was mesmerised by her incredible beauty and seductive figure. But Elena didn't really care much about it. She was going straight to the adventurer guild after entering the city. On her way she was tasting every food item she could find.

After walking for sometime she could see in front of her, a large building with logo of sword and cane crossing each other. This was the adventurer guild.

After entering, she could see there was a bar inside and some adventures were drinking there even tho it was noon. The guild was not very busy at this time.

She chose a receptionist and went toward her but suddenly a cliched situation happened.

A drunk adventurer came to her and said with a vulgar smile -

"Wow, what a good body. Perfect to fuck. Beauties like you should not come here. But now that you're here, come and accompany me and my brothers for drinks and then in bed."

Elena didn't even blink an eye and very lightly kicked the adventurer in the groins breaking his balls. That adventurer fainted immediately.

His companions tried to help him and attacked Elena in drunken stupor shouting something like fucking her but all three of them were beaten to unconscious state with several broken bones but no life threatening injuries within just a few minutes, breaking two more balls in the process.

Then she nonchalantly went to the receptionist like nothing happened. The male adventurers who were stricken with her, bent their legs to hide their balls and the female adventurers were looking at her with stars in their eyes. But she didn't mind it at all and asked the receptionist -

"I want to register as an adventurer. Can I do it here?"

Coming back to her senses the receptionist hurriedly replied

"Yes, you can. Please wait a minute."

Saying so she took out a form and handed it to Elena

"Please fill this form up."

In the form Elena was only required to fill the minimum amount of information like her name, job, preferred weapon or magic etc. When Elena was looking at the form with interest the receptionist lady suddenly asked

"Ma'am those previous guys were C-class adventurers, all above level 150. You're stronger than them but still you're not an adventurer. Do you want me to tell you more about the guild and the adventurers?"

Hearing this Elena happily replied

"Yes please. I would like to know more about this topic."

Seeing her enchanting and dazzling smile the receptionist hurriedly started telling her about adventurers while blushing.

The gist of that information was that, adventurers were more like handymen in the lower ranks. But as the rank and the fighting strength increased so as their value.

Adventurers could be divided into 9 ranks from lowest H-rank to second highest A-rank and then S-rank as the peak.

Adventures below F-rank are very weak and couldn't fight monsters and such. So they only work inside the city as handymen. They have a different reception on the second floor. Their pay was minimum and the numbers of H and G rank were very high so the number of jobs for them were also minimum. But the risk to their life was none.

F and E ranks could go outside the city walls to hunt monsters or to fulfill other requests. But their strength was limited as their levels were only in double digits.

Adventurers with triple digit level became D rank. And from D rank one could become a full-fledged adventurer. F and E ranks also didn't earn much but a D ranker can earn quite a bit, atleast way more than one will earn by working normally but the risk to their life is also great.

After reaching D rank the advancement became a bit harder. Normally a person above level 150 became C rank, above level 200 became Veteran B rank and above level 250 became normally highest A rank. A

person of S rank is too strong and is above level 300 so they are known as superhumans.

But only having levels is not enough for someone to reach ranks above D. One also have to pass other criteria such as work ethics, success rate, charector, etiquette etc.

Adventurers can create a team or party having normally 3-8 members and the rank of the team is mainly decided by the highest ranking members rank. But sometimes the guild themselves can increase or decrease the rank of a party or team by their judgement.

Like if a B rank adventurer is the only strong person and other members are only D rank then that party will not be stronger than a C rank party or if a team of only D rank member can work very well together and can beat even C rank monsters than that party can be made a C rank party.

Nobles have a very high social standing in this world but a B rank adventurer is equivalent to high-ranking nobles and a A class adventurer will be respected even by the king of a country. S class are feared being that even several countries together don't want to mess with. Some of the kings actually have the strength of a A or S rank so that is not the case always.

She also said that Elena can instantly reach D rank if she can pass a fighting test which she should be able to easily clear. While hearing all that Elena was done with filling the form and she gave it to the receptionist. In the meantime the receptionist has calmed down a bit and now instead of blushing she was just looking at Elena with admiration.

Recieving the form and then standing up she told Elena

"Please follow me Onee-sama, I have already notified the guild master. The preparation of your combat test should be done by now."

She also started calling her Onee-sama.

Elena was then taken to a large practice ground and there a middle aged, about 40-45 years old man was standing, with a wooden spear in hand. The receptionist who's name was Corella spoke up

"What are doing here, stupid guild master?"

The guild master Roice replied-

"Obviously I want to check the strength of the person who was able to defeat [Heavy Crusher] Garder."

Elena wonder who this [Heavy Crusher] was but then she remembered seeing Garder as the bandit leaders name. She just said to Roice while taking another wooden spear in her hand

"You want to have a bout with me, right? Come at me with all you have got. I also want to see the strength of an A rank adventurer."

Hearing that veins started popping up on Roice's forehead, as he was very proud of his strength. Laughing angrily he shouted

"Here I come."

After about 10 minutes he was on his knees kneeling to Elena and asking her to became his teacher. Elena put the wooden spear back to its place and told him

"Your forms were not good at all. I can see from your style that you had a way better mastery of spear before but probably due to not using it for a long time your forms have deteriorated quite a bit. Your spear heavily focus on quick, rapid thrusts, but your muscles have also deteriorated. First get your form back then come to me. If I have time I'll give you some pointers."

With that Elena passed her combat test defeating, no more like, instructing a retired but veteran level 263 A rank adventurer who is also the guild master.

After that Elena was taken before a large orb. Roice explained that this orb is called "Orb of Judgement" and through this a criminal can be detected. This thing recieve the input directly from the gods, so no criminal can hide infront of it.

If the person have done nothing critically bad then the orb will shine blue and if that person is a criminal then the orb will shine red.

Roice was actually kinda nervous because if the orb shines red the guild is supposed to detain her but he was sure that even if all the adventurers in the city including two A rank party attack her together they will still be beaten. But fortunately nothing like that happened, the orb normally shined blue and Elena's registration was done. She was given the D rank adventurer card and Roice also told her that she will have to do a test mission to get to rank C, and he will let her take that test as soon as possible.

Like that Elena's registration process was done.
