Misunderstanding

A week has passed, a week of tormenting silence. Nobody entered this unit since I stepped foot in it. No interrogators, nobody came to take my testimony and apparently my neighbours are not curious to see the new comer, to be honest I have a problem in controlling anxiety, I had many assumptions why they're refusing to interact with me and I kept continuously thinking about them. I thought I might go insane before they come to interrogate me. Of course, I didn't take the initiative to talk to them, I had many questions regarding them. I wasn't sure what kind of place this is, are they criminals? how long were they here? and most importantly are they really residents here or inside investigators?!

The supplies in the mini fridge are almost over, I thought all I have to do is to wait. They'll probably send someone to refill it and then maybe some of my questions will be answered. The eighth night was the worst since I came here it was the night when every thing in this house was consumed. No more food left in the fridge, no toilet paper, I even used the soap till its last bit. Honestly, I kind of did that on purpose to drive them to send someone to bring supplies but plotting the thing is never like executing it. I was sitting there on the cold floor facing the door waiting for someone or something to open it praying to God I would die before it does.

It was almost seven am, I thought to myself that I clung to a ridiculous hope. I mean where do I think I am! This is not a five stars' hotel! Besides why am I so eager to interact with someone from here anyway.

I was very tired and sleepy I pushed myself to stand up then I headed to bed which was just a few steps away. At the moment I was reaching to bed I heard the sound of knocking. someone was knocking on my door!! When I turned around, I saw a lady wearing a blue uniform entering the house. The lady smiled gently at me and said "Good morning, I am here to provide you with your weekly supplies."

I smiled back at her and said "I was waiting for you!".

"Pardon" she said. I felt she was surprised from my response.

"I want other clothes" The woman responded immediately before I could finish my sentence "I apologise sir but residents here must wear a uniform it wouldn't be fair if we treat you differently."

"madam you're misunderstanding; I need the female's uniform."
