Resident Evil 2: Re-Imagined

The story of Resident Evil 2 Remake, re-imagined into one cohesive story, with some added changes. (This story has a female lead but due to the new genre system I can't have this story classified as a horror book with a female-lead since it's a male-lead only genre for some reason).

Panel Problems

"Sherry? Sherry!" Claire cries out as she runs up to the glass, banging on it. Sherry doesn't budge. It's impossible to tell if she's even breathing. Her and Katherine hurry over to the right of the room over to a heavy metal door. She tries to open it, but it's locked.

"Everytime we need to get somewhere, it's locked!" She yells as she bangs her fist on the door. She takes a second to breath and calm down as Katherine turns to the right where the room juts out. Six panels, three on each side sits, only three of them having plugs with odd shapes. She walks over to the other end of the area where a table and noteboard are sitting.

"Hey, I think I know how to open it," Katherine states as she picks up a note and walks over to Claire, "It says something about putting plugs in a specific order. If we can find the plugs, we can open the door,"

"Okay," Claire nods, "But, we don't know what these plugs look like,"

"There's three here already, the others should look like them, hopefully,"

Walking over to the panels, they realize all the plugs have chess pieces attached to them. A bishop, knight, and a pawn.

"The king, queen, and rook are missing," Claire states. Walking back to the front of the room, they spot a map hanging up on the left wall by a different door leading somewhere else. The place doesn't seem too large, and there's little symbols on the map of other panel locations. There seem to be only two places where they can be. There's one in an upper floor.

The only two ways they can get there are by an elevator that's behind that locked door with the blue fire hydrant. The other way is going to a lower floor winding through some halls and going up a long flight of stairs then through more sewage. In the lower part of that path, it splits going further down, which leads to the other area with panels.

"If we can find the mechanism for that hydrant, we should be able to get there quickly, then we can come back to this place," Claire states. As Claire presses her hand on the door she stops for a second, turning to Katherine, "Are you sure you want to come? You can stay here if you'd like. After everything's that's happened, I know things are gonna get much more dangerous,"

"Sherry saved my life." She glances over into the garbage pit, "I owe her this much," She turns back to Claire without a hint of doubt. Claire nods and opens the door up.

They enter a large, tall room. The ceiling stands far above their heads. They can see the end of the right side of the room, but looking to the left they see that large endless tunnel from before. In the center of the area they're in, a large pillar stands in the water, supporting a metal bridge halfway up the room. In front of a short wire railing, is a box with a large handle on it.

With some force, Claire pulls the handle down with a satisfying click. With loud mechanical sounds, the bridge lowers down to their level, connecting their little area to the other side. Crossing over, they look over to a little area to the left that sits right next to the weird looking train car. They decide to head on over to the train car. Approaching the train car, they notice a green screen sitting on the door.

Nearing the door, a woman's automated voice states, "Access denied". A few feet from the door is a T-shaped handle.

"This must be used on the hydrant," Claire states as she grabs it and puts it in her bag. A note also sits on the table. It talks about a heat-resistant safe that was brought to this area, and that the code for it was written with chalk on the side. They leave the area heading back towards the bridge. The path goes past the bridge, where a door to the left sits only a few feet away, then continues to the other end of the room before turning right.

Atop a supply cart, sits a safe, and a few feet from there the path ends, a corpse sitting up against the railing. They head on over, walking quietly to the safe. They look on the sides. On the right, written in chalk, is the combination. Unlocking it, the safe opens with a click. They turn to the corpse. It doesn't move. Looking back to the safe reveals some sort of small container. Opening it up, some odd looking handgun ammo sits inside. The tips are all painted black, and on the sides a G with a slash through it is carved into the shell.

Claire closes the container and puts it into her bag. Nothing else sits in the safe. Guns in hands, they head to the door and enter a small, dark hallway. Some light at the bottom of the stairs just barely makes the rest of it visible. As they head down the dark, murky, stairs, they see a figure stumble by at the bottom.
