38 A Tsundere Intelligence

Once Lin Chao confirmed his choices, a black vent slowly appeared at the bottom of the dark golden sphere. A mechanical arm extended from the inside, it was the size of three human palms. Three fist-sized boxes lay on its hand, it was the same as the small black boxes in the Peril Strain, even the unusual patterns carved on the boxes were identical. The only difference was the color, they were red, gold, and silver respectively.

The three-eyed lady told Lin Chao three activation passwords once he received the three boxes.

Memorizing them, he opened the corresponding boxes one after another.

The first one was the Foldable Alternate Dimension Space!

The S Tier ruins item was placed in a small dark red box. It was in the form of a mystically engraved metal ring. Lin Chao picked it up curiously, trying to wear it on his finger after studying it for a bit.

Just as he wore the ring, a few sharp metal spikes poked from the inside and punctured Lin Chao's finger to sample his blood. Simultaneously, a string of mechanically voiced messages sounded in his head. "Entering blood type… Connecting to nerves…"

Beep!

"Authorization completed. Copying Foldable Alternate Dimension Space manual… copy completed. Please come to the company's point of sales for inquiries if you have other needs," the voice spoke in his mind.

Lin Chao felt a big chunk of jumbled information inserted into his brain and after a few minutes of rearranging, he realized that it was the user manual of the Foldable Alternate Dimension Space.

This method was convenient. An invisible entrance would be opened for him when he simply called upon it; other than the inability to store himself, he could keep everything else inside at will.

Moreover, he could decorate his alternate dimension space. According to the manual, the item was exclusive to nobles during the Gendaya Civilization period. Some nobles bedecked their spaces to hold parties, some furnished them as battlegrounds and invited their friends to spar and play, and some renovated them to playgrounds for their children.

Lin Chao's alternate dimension space had nothing. It was barren except for two robots gifted by the company that served the Foldable Alternate Dimension Space. As long as he provided the materials to whatever he wanted to build, both robots would swiftly be at his aid.

Lin Chao securely wore the ring. It was the activation button to the alternate dimension. If it were lost or destroyed, the space would be thoroughly sealed. Only the company that made the item could find the dimension where the space was from the back-end and reopened it. However, the company had long been gone for several eras.

The second item was an A Tier Modified Dragon Wings!

The item was housed in a small golden box and its shape did not reflect any relevance to a pair of wings. – It was a black genetic syringe.

Scrutinizing it upon picking up, Lin Chao could not help asking the three-eyed woman, "I can just inject myself with this?"

"You do not qualify for an intelligence answer," the three-eyed lady replied emotionlessly.

Lin Chao was partially amused and partially irked. Did she have to be so tsundere? Helpless, he studied the syringe and recalled what he heard in his past life, rolling his sleeves up and injecting his arm with gritted teeth.

Right after the injection, Lin Chao suddenly wanted to ask the lady if the modified wings would grow where he had just injected himself. If that was the case, that would be awkward. Imagine a pair of wings growing from the arm… could one fly like that?

He soon realized that he was overthinking. When the onyx liquid in the syringe was injected into his arm, it turned into a black line that flowed to the back of Lin Chao's neck and followed down his arm. Then along the spine of his back, it started to sting and itch a little, as if something was struggling.

After a while, a rip was heard out of the blue. The sound of clothes tearing came from the back. Turning to look, Lin Chao saw a pair of inky wings slowly spreading from the back of his shoulders.

The wings were pure black while each feather looked like it contained the radiance of an onyx. Both wings were about five meters in length combined. Lin Chao felt around… The feathers were cool to touch, hard and sharp like metal.

There was a smooth protrusion in the center of the wings, probably the energy core of the pair of Modified Dragon Wings.

Lin Chao tried controlling them and figured out that it was not difficult. The wings seemed to be connected to his brain as the manipulation felt natural, moving like his arms or fingers.

Fluu!

The wings flapped gently and Lin Chao was off the ground.

Delighted, Lin Chao landed instantly and attempted to maneuver his genetic cells to withdraw the Modified Dragon Wings back into his body. He discovered that it was equally easy, like the wings could understand his thoughts and shrink into his skin immediately. It was magical!

Lin Chao patted his back. Other than his clothes that were torn by the wings, his skin was smooth without a scar.

"Genetic items are great. You can use and keep them as you wish," Lin Chao exclaimed in amazement.

The last item was the Black Hole Bomb.

An inky black ball lay inside the small silver box. Lin Chao dared not hold it, afraid of a tragic death if he were to trigger an explosion.

"Hazard found. Loading manual…" A golden beam shot from the third eye of the three-eyed lady and shone between Lin Chao's brows.

Feeling the influx of information, Lin Chao managed to perceive that it was the instructions and warnings of the Black Hole Bomb after skimming through it.

He asked curiously, "I thought you said that I'm not qualified for an intelligence answer?"

"You do not qualify for an intelligence answer," the three-eyed lady replied without an expression.

Again. Lin Chao thought wickedly. 'Are you afraid of me carelessly triggering the bomb and bombing you?'

"Where's the Evolution Tree?" Lin Chao asked looking around.

"You do not qualify for an intel – Beep, beep… Do you want to inject the Evolution Tree now?" The three-eyed lady vanished suddenly halfway through her speech, like a glitch. However, it took less than a second and she reappeared on the dark golden globe to ask Lin Chao without showing an expression.

Lin Chao was speechless. "Of course…"

The mechanical arm under the dark golden globe extended again holding a green syringe and came to Lin Chao's chest. One of the machine fingers cracked open to reveal a small mechanical arm that pulled Lin Chao's clothes apart and gently pushed the syringe toward where his heart was.

Lin Chao shuddered lightly and could not help commenting. "This is my heart. Is it going to be injected into my heart?"

"That is correct." The three-eyed lady nodded before she seemed to have remembered something and said coldly, "You do not qualify for an intelligence answer!"

'But you just answered!'

As the syringe pierced his chest, Lin Chao watched the green fluid inject into himself. When the syringe was pulled out, he immediately felt a shock quake through his entire body. With darkening vision, he fainted.

It was not known how long time had passed when Lin Chao gradually regained consciousness. His first reaction was to look at his chest. There was a green seedling on the skin above his heart, it was genuine like a tattoo and fresh like it had dewdrops.

"This is the Evolution Tree?" Lin Chao's eyes bulged. It was obviously an evolution sprout!

"That is correct." The three-eyed lady nodded.

"Uh… What does it do?" Lin Chao felt his body; his vision, hearing, strength and other abilities were not enhanced.

"You do not qualify for an intelligence answer…" said the lady impassively.

Lin Chao rolled his eyes and feigned a fierce look saying, "I'll bomb this place if you don't tell me!"
