Opening the door Vernox was greeted by the laughter of a few people. Entering the royal dining he saw a long table with seats on all sides.
Counting all the people here with his eyes Vernox saw fifteen people here in total, they all looked at him as he entered. Some looked with disgust, some had smiles on their faces and some just looked on nonchalantly.
Damien went to an empty seat which had a plate of food in front and just sat, not wanting to engage in any discussion with anyone.
"Now that we are all gathered, we may eat." Damien said. Vernox took a look at this brother of his at the other end of the table.
Damien looked very handsome and playful. He has the same white hair as Vernox but his deep blue eyes and blue horns made them look different.
Unlike Vernox, Damien exuded an aura of strength as well as playfulness. From his memories Vernox saw Damien as someone who likes having fun and enjoying his life.
Taking his gaze off of Damien he looked to his left where seven people sat. They were the chieftains and their wives.
The chieftains are the heads of families who help run the kingdom alongside the demon family. They are considered very important in the kingdom as they rule alongside the demon lord.
Vernox removed his eyes from the chieftains and looked at a girl at the end of the table close to Damien. She had Violet coloured hair and clear blue eyes. She looked extremely beautiful and charming.
'Bitch' Vernox said in his mind.
She is the one that made the previous Vernox kill himself. It happened in the training grounds when Vernox confessed to her and she humiliated him. That was very cruel of her... Very!
'I got to stay as far away from her as possible' He thought.
Meanwhile, a beautiful white haired girl at the other side of the table kept glancing at Vernox once in a while but he didn't notice this and just continued eating.
...
The dinner ended with silence, Vernox quickly went to his room after that to avoid communicating with the others.
"That was the weirdest dinner I've had in my life." He said, unable to shake off the nervous feeling he had while eating.
The quicker he adapts to this world the better. It's just that it still feels like a dream to him.
He died and reincarnated. And now he has to save this world with zero power start.
"At least I have knowledge of the game," he said as he slumped on his bed ready to get some rest.
***
Vernox wasn't able to sleep in the night and stayed awake, absorbing soul energy slowly. It seemed futile but he still tried, after all, who knows what he is going to save this world from.
"Yawwwn..."
Vernox stretched as he stood up to have his bath.
After a while he came out and got dressed, ready to head to the primal garden this morning.
"Sigh... Another day in this world." He mumbled as he opened his door and made his way downstairs.
...
Upon reaching the entrance on the bottom floor, Vernox opened the doors with a little strength.
Wind brushed pass his face as he finally stepped out of the castle. The guards in front of the door bowed slightly as they saw Vernox coming out of the castle.
Some of them looked at him with disdain but he didn't care, after all, it isn't his fault that he became trash.
The demon castle was very big, taking up one thousand metres base length per side.
The castle itself was over five hundred metres tall.
The royal family alone can't possible stay there alone. The guards, chieftains and their families and the maids all stayed at the large castle.
After admiring the castle Vernox began to walk towards the back of the castle by following the side.
Looking ahead Vernox saw a large glass dome that looked extremely strong. He quickened his pace as he smiled lightly, seeing his destination.
...
Upon reaching the glass dome Vernox could now see how it was. There were various symbols drawn on the body of the dome.
Vernox has not seen it up close before and just stared at it from his computer screen. It was a defence mechanism to protect whatever was inside this glass dome that was over a hundred metres in height.
Seeing two glass doors, Vernox walked towards them. As if noticing his presence the doors opened automatically.
Vernox stopped in his tracks as he saw this. Wanting to know what that was all about he moved backwards and the doors closed.
"I see, so it's like motion sensors." He mumbled as he walked to the dome. This time he didn't stop and when the doors opened he walked in straight.
Upon walking in Vernox was greeted with a sweet scent of flowers. The view from where he stood could be regarded as heavenly.
He couldn't help but wonder if he was in the garden of Eden.
There were tall trees, plants, shrubs all beaming with quality. The place looked very clean and mystical.
Vernox moved from his spot as he stared wide eyed at the plants that were all around.
Managing to calm himself down he began walking around, searching for the Drupe of perfection.
Maids came in in batches as they took care of the crops. The maids he passed would greet him but they had a weird look on their faces when they did so, as if he had a curse that was contagious.
"You all will be begging to be in my bed soon." He said with a mischievous smile.
...
After a while of searching, Vernox finally found what he was looking for. It was a fruit the shape of an apple growing in a huge tree. There were only about five of these golden apples called the Drupes of perfection.
Vernox quickly plucked one and wrapped it in a piece of cloth before putting it in his pocket.
"Mission accomplished." He mumbled as he turned around to leave the place.
"And what could you need that for?"
Hearing a voice behind him Vernox turned back, feeling very wary.
His eyes widened as he never expected this person to be in the primal garden of all places.
He smiled a bitter smile as he knows that he has been caught now.
