Lily disappeared

Anna's POV 

Just like I expected, my day went bad right from my encounter with Jennifer.

My lawyer had also filed a lawsuit against her and that was the only part of my day that went right.

Arman had left a few hours ago, leaving me with no choice but to drive myself home but that is the last thing I want to do right now.

As if the universe had heard me, I met Nicholas waiting outside in the parking lot.

If it was in the past I would have thought he was waiting for Mia.

"Hi," he said softly as I approached him.

He looks as tired as I feel.

"Are you alright?" I asked and he shook his head.

"I'm just exhausted and I miss you" he replied with a teasing smile.

His outright confession left me speechless, I should get used to this soon.

"But you never called me throughout the day" I countered.

"I was very occupied, and I believe an email was sent to you for the board meeting. So I was expecting you" he responded.
