Blanc Rougenfort, a passionate lover of knowledge, grew up as the son of a maid serving a Count's family in the kingdom of Lockridge. Unfortunately, their peaceful life was disrupted when a rebellion broke out and the forces of the Count, who Blanc and his mother were serving, were completely destroyed. The Count entrusted Blanc with the task of escaping the country with his daughters and starting anew. However, Blanc was not content with just that. He made a vow to establish his own army, seek revenge for the Count's family, and ensure that the world is safe for those dear to him.
Inside a large hall in the newly built Rougenfort Castle, a group of Blanc's subordinates were eagerly waiting.
Today was a big day for all of them and they cannot wait to start the meeting.
*CREAK*
Finally, after a few more minutes of waiting, Blanc and Helena arrived. Helena immediately walked towards her seat while Blanc scanned everyone's faces with a smile on his face.
Then, after making sure that everyone was present, Blanc slowly walked towards his seat and sat down.
"Mhm! I'm glad to see all of you since today's meeting will be about a big decision regarding the leadership of our nation."
"Seeing that all of you are ready, let's start the meeting by hearing the progress of the tasks assigned to all of you"
Blanc's subordinates started reporting the progress regarding their tasks one by one.
Those who didn't have anything important to report simply reported a quick summary while the ones like Adelaine, who had important updates, reported their progress in a detailed fashion.
Adelaine reported that the Resonance Chamber of Commerce has successfully established 100 branches in different cities of different kingdoms which made all of the other subordinates open their mouths wide in disbelief.
She wasn't done with just that though as recently, the Resonance Chamber of Commerce has been featured in Praetoria continent's up-and-coming Chambers of Commerce.
With a chairwoman this capable, the other subordinates finally understood how Blanc could fund all of the projects without needing to save money.
The next important update came from Doran. It seems that the Blacksmith Association's numbers have already grown to a massive four thousand.
Although there were only four more master Blacksmiths like him, the rest of the blacksmiths were very experienced.
Due to this, they finally completed 20,000 weapons and armor sets for the newly graduated batch of warriors last week which made Blanc breathe a sigh of relief.
He was constantly on edge during the past few weeks since the Samara Kingdom had already started making preparations to attack them.
Blanc didn't dare underestimate them since he knew that they had the support of the powerful Kairuku Kingdom.
Next up was Helena who simply reported a recap of where the soldiers had been allocated in preparation for the upcoming war.
Then, the last important update came from Albert who triumphantly came back from his long journey together with Marie and Charles.
After becoming diamond-ranked master alchemists, they were invited into a meeting that included grandmaster alchemists and the top brass of the alchemist association where the three of them were interviewed intensely.
Of course, some of the grandmasters made the interview difficult for them due to the young apprentices but fortunately, they also had some allies.
Little did they know that Old Man Wayne was a grandmaster himself and to prevent any troubles, Grandmaster Wayne decided to make the three of them his apprentices.
Due to this, they finally got the license to establish the Resonance Pots and Pills. At the moment they only have the headquarters inside the Resonance City but they plan to expand soon.
After Albert finished reporting the progress of the Resonance Alchemist Association, it was finally time for them to talk about the main topic.
"Thank you, Albert, now, I believe everyone knows what we're here to talk about?"
The faces of the subordinates turned serious after hearing that they would now be talking about the main topic of this meeting, choosing their very first king.
Everyone knew that this was only a formality though since no one would dare claim that they could lead the nation better than Blanc.
"I vote for Blanc Rougenfort as the first king of our kingdom!"
Adelaine took the lead in nominating Blanc as the first king and naturally, Helena immediately voiced her support as well.
"I second the motion!"
"Me too!"
"I also second the motion!"
…
…
By the end of the meeting, all of them agreed to make Blanc the first king and name their kingdom "Rougenfort Kingdom".
Blanc knew that this would be the end result of the meeting but when it actually happened, he couldn't help but be touched as he clenched his fists and vowed to never let all of them down.
"I am grateful to all of you for placing your wholehearted trust in me and I swear that I will never let all of you down."
"I might become more and more ruthless in the future but I promise that I will never treat my subordinates and subjects unfairly."
"I, Blanc Rougenfort, accept the position of First King of the Rougenfort Kingdom and I shall do my best to lead everyone to greater heights."
Helena and Adelaine couldn't help but reminisce about the hard times when they had to escape the Lockridge Kingdom and start as a small village.
Now, their very own kingdom is about to be established.
