E4 C1 Words of Mistrust

Running through the factory. Loki let the words of the woman run through his head, had they really gotten to be face to face with the worst possible one? If that was the case. They were most likely dead now. Shame. He saw the uses both of them had. Now they were most likely as good as dead. There went those plans.

"Take a right here!" Loki would say to Kersay who was just a few steps ahead of him. "Should take us deeper into the factory"

Kersay would frown at his words. Why would he suggest a direction in a factory he shouldn't have knowledge about?

"Why that way?" she'd question the teen. Stopping and looking back at him. "You know something I don't about this place?"

"We need to get deeper inside the factory to find the annoying one and the boastful one. Going right from where we were. Would most likely take us deeper. Is that a bad suggestion?" Loki would ask slowing down as well. Standing a few steps away from Kersay. Keeping a hand where he could easily reach either his gun or one of his knives.

"And why exactly do we need to go find your buddies? Just so you guys can actually ambush me? Lull me into a trap now that my defense is down?" She'd accuse him. Which had the unintended effect of sparking his ire.

"Look if I wanted to ambush you. I don't need the help of those fuck ups to do it Kersay. If you want to go left, then go fucking left. I just want to make sure that they're okay. Is that a problem for you?" Loki would growl at her. Now more tempted to actually hurt her than he previously was.

He didn't like people questioning him, especially when they, they were for all intensive purposes useless to him. And in Kersay's case. That's all she was, a flight risk. Left with little energy to really do any good with her crazy semblance. Well at least as far as he could tell. For all he knew, she could be lying to him. Wouldn't be the first time someone has kept things from him when they mattered. Wouldn't be the last.

"So you're saying you are capable of ambushing me? What level of training do you have that makes you able to do such a thing?" She would ask, noting the confidence in his words. Noting the fact that he could say it like it was fact.

"I was trained in Mistral. Any normal person who lives there has a hard time surviving. Unlike here in Vale, we don't have high walls made of stone. We have wooden cabins that are easily broken. So we were raised to always be ready, to be able to fight when others won't be ready. Trained to be warriors, not heroes." Loki would say pointing that very specific fact out.

"And that makes you believe you can take on a student at one of the most prestigious huntsman academies in the world? So what if you're always prepared. That has nothing to do with skill." Kersay would point out a harsh reality, which most hot shot students who came to Beacon ended up having to face.

"Because I assume everyone is a highly trained opponent. Better to fight with the assumption your opponent is either on your own level or above. That way the only guessing work being done is how accurately you gauge your opponents skill." Loki would say in a low tone not really sure of what he could say further to convince the young woman before him. He knew there was a huge level of mistrust between them, and there was nothin he could do in this moment to truly convince her to trust him. Nor the fuck ups he ended up coming to this entire bombshell of a situation.

Listening to the words that Loki spoke to her. She knew he had several points where he was right. But the authority he seemed to have on the situation, wasn't doing anything to make her feel better, or any safer. Especially with how everything seemed to happen almost as if it were planned. And that coincidence was something she did not trust at all. Even if there were good intentions behind it.

After all. This wasn't the first attempt of someone attempting to kidnap her and use her for nefarious deeds. And luckily for her she didn't have to stay captured long enough for it to mean anything. Or for her to be too scarred emotionally and physically. Which made it easier for her to continue blending in as any other normal school girl.

Even jaded she'd be able to blend in with the school crowd. Just as she had been trained to do. And she would continue to do so, even if it put others in danger. For her saftey was that much above everyone else's. Because that's just how life worked. Some people were chosen for greatness. And others, were much less fortunate.

"Tell me Loki. Why is it that you seem to have so much authority in a situation like this?" She asked, speaking the biggest concern that was abundant in her mind. "And, do you plan on doing their dirty work once I am too weak to fight?"

Blinking in a mixed state of surprise, and continued annoyance. Loki silently grit his teeth for a moment before feeling the continued shaking of the factory. And of the two other people she caused to be dragged into this mess. All because she was a damned Maiden.

But he wasn't about to let her know anything more of what she needed to know. Because if he did. Both of them might die if it came down to a battle of pure skill. But there was no telling just how much of her abilities she's used, and how much energy she has left. So he opted for the best conclusion in a situation such as this. Telling another bold faced lie.

"Because I came from Atlas, where I was trained in a high profile military unit. Aimed at making the best soliders. And I don't know anything about who is trying to kidnap you. Only that Cayde tried to help you and got his ass handed to him."

Sighing after hearing the words the young man spoke. She had no choice but to believe him for now. Since he did show a high level of skill, and combat awarness she could only attribute to someone from Atlas. "Alright. I'll trust you for now. But we have to get out of her quickly."

"Then you can leave. I have two idiots I need to save." Loki growled at her. Pushing past her and deeper into the shaking factory. Aiming to find and save Lilac and Carter. If they weren't dead already.
