Prologue

Author's note: I do not own rooster teeth, or rwby or any of the othe rmanga or anime I might include in my fanfics. The only thing I own is the idea and the idea alone and maybe the characters I create for the fic.

It was evening.

There was no sound to be heard in Beacon academy. Most students were sleeping, playing video games and with very little of them actually studying. But that was to be expected from an academy like Beacon, a prestigious school for huntress and huntsmen. A school designated to train warriors. Trained in teams of four the school prided itself in its unique sense of training and special methods of teaching students. It was an elite school for elite people.

In a room of said school were four people. A man with black hair tied into a low ponytail sat down on a bed. He had magenta eyes and wore a dark green, diagonally-buttoned, long-sleeved tailcoat that is red on the inside, with black and gold trimming and pink cuffs. The trimming went down the right side of his torso and formed a black collar. Along with this, he wears a black, long-sleeved shirt beneath the suit and light-tan pants with black shoes.

"..." The man stayed quiet as he heard a girl scream in the room.

The girl screaming had orange hair and blue eyes. She wore a collared black sleeveless vest, with a blue central front section with red accents, her vest hadher emblem on the back. Under the vest, she had a white sleeveless t-shirt with a heart-shaped cutout above her breast line in the centre accompanied with a pair of white detached sleeves on each arm. She wore a short pink skirt with a single white layer under it. Her white ankle boots had pink soles with part of her emblem, the lighting bolt, on them and low heels with pink laces, the tops are folded over revealing the pink lining. She also wore a silver armor piece that wraps around waist, under her breasts and around the back on her neck with metal connecting each piece together at the front.

"That's so awesome! We get to go to Forever Fall forest!" The girl yelled excitedly while jumping around.

"Yea, too bad our leader is busy helping his new friends!" Another voice came from the bathroom in the room.

The girl had crimson red hair which was tied to a ponytail and emerald green eyes.As a top, she wore a brown overbust corset with a vertical strip of lighter brown in the center. Additionally, wore an elastic, black, A-line mini skirt and brown opera-length gloves on both arms. She wore a red ankle-length sash that wrapped around her skirt.

"Well anyways I'm heading out!" She said, being stopped by the oranged haired girl who put herself in-front of the red-haired girl.

"Nora, may I please pass?" She asked making the orange haired girl shake her head with an enormous grin on her face.

"Not before you tell us where you're going!" She yelled making the boy in the room look up to see the two.

"You've been going out every night without telling us what you're doing Pyrrha!" The girl known as Nora exclaimed.

The boy got up from the bed he sat in and placed his hand on Nora's shoulder.

"Nora, it may be something private, maybe it's better if we do not ask." He told her. The girl however would not back down.

"No! She's definitely hiding something!" Nora exclaimed.

'What is it?! Is it your plan to take over Vale?!" She asked. Confused by the sudden question Pyrrha took a step back.

"What?" She asked.

"Nora, I don't think anyone is planning on taking over vale." The boy tried to calm down his friend.

"Is it your boyfriend?!" She asked, making Pyrrha sigh.

"I wish." She said tiredly.

The duo blinked in confusion at the response.

"I'm going to visit a childhood friend before curfew." She said, making both look at each other.

"He isn't very comfortable around other people... So I'd rather you didn't come with me." She said. The boy understood and nodded, the girl however didn't and shook her head.

"Let us meet this guy!" She said getting ready to leave with Pyrrha to wherever she was going.

"Nora, we have to respect her wishes." The boy said, holding the girl.

"Thank you Ren." Pyrrha thanked the boy who gave her one last nod before heading out.

"Ren!" Nora yelled.

"I'll tell him that you want to meet him, maybe he'll come out to see you guys." She said before closing the door.

Nora forced her way out of Ren's grasp and ran towards the door, trying to open it several times without success. Only to remember it locked itself after someone closed it.

She deflated in disappointment.

Ren shook his head tiredly as he went back into sitting on his bed.

After a few minutes of traveling Pyrrha arrived where she wanted to go. She was in-front of a small apartment complex. She took a deep breath before heading inside.

Looking at the receptionist she looked down.

"Can I help you?" The receptionist asked her.

'He must be new... I come here every day.' Pyrrha thought looking at the receptionist.

"Is there anything I can do to help you?" The receptionist asked once again, making Pyrrha flinch.

"Ah! Yes sorry." She said, clearing her throat.

"I am here to visit my friend." She said handing the receptionist a small note.

"Ah, yes. He is on the sixth floor. Room 61" He answered making Pyrrha nod and head towards the elevator. She pressed the six on the elevator and watched as the doors closed.

She waited for the elevator to take her to the sixth floor. Once it did she immediately got out and walked to the room she had been told her friend was in.

Walking to the door of room 61 she knocked three times.

"Yes?" Someone asked from the other side of the room.

It was a man's voice. It was monotone and flat, like the person talking was bored and without anything to do.

"Well, I brought you food." Pyrrha answered.

"Who are you?" The voice asked. Pyrrha sweat-dropped.

"Do you have to do this every time?" She asked.

"Hmmmm... Yes." The man on the other side of the door answered. The Beacon student could only sigh before rubbing the bridge of her nose.

"My name is Pyrrha Nikos, I'm your childhood friend." She answered.

The monotone voice on the other side of the door hummed.

"Anyone could say that." He replied, making the spartan's eyebrow twitch.

"When you were younger you beat my dad in chess and called him mentally undeveloped!" She whispered aggressively.

The boy on the other side of the door hummed once again.

"Hmmmmmmm. Leave the food there, I'll get it later." He answered.

Pyrrha sighed and put the food she had prepared on the floor.

"You know, you should come out more often. I haven't seen you in a long time." She told the boy.

".... No can do, I'm busy right now." He answered making the girl sigh as she put her hand on the door.

"You know, you could probably get into Beacon. Then you wouldn't have to stay in here all alone." She said.

There was no response.

"Your grades are always on top, you can easily get in without passing the entrance exam." She added.

"..." There was no response.

"I worry about you. I don't think I've seen you come out of your room in ages." She said making the boy hum on the other side of the room.

"Just think about it ok?"

"Hmmm. I heard you were going to Forever Fall Tomorrow." the monotone voice said from the other side of the door.

"Oh, yea me and my team are going." She told him.

"I see... Be careful, there have been a lot of Ursa sightings there" He warned her. Pyrrha looked at her scroll and checked the time. Ursa was a type of grim. Grim were soulless creatures of darkness that huntsmen and huntresses hunt to ensure the safety of humanity.

"Well I should be heading off, have a good evening and night. I'll keep in mind your warning" She said leaving the boy inside the room.
