Losing charity
Benson's POV
I walked for few minutes before I got to the cemetery.
I walk pass few graves before I got to Charity's grave.it was properly cleaned, and a fresh flower was on it.
I murmured in pain and stood in front of her grave, and stared at her name printed boldly on the grave.
I hissed in pain and close my eyes, and memories I wish not to remember flash in my head.
“I need to rush to the mall and get something, I'll be right back “.charity stood up from my laps and rushed to the bedroom and pick up the car keys
“Baby I will be going with your car, my car is still at the mechanic”.
“It's alright, baby “.she kissed me softly on the lips and left the house.
I hissed in relief and went back to what I was typing on my computer.
Papa, where is Mommy”.two years Lilly walks up to me and climbed my legs, I chuckled at her behavior and carried her in my arms
“Mom went to get some stuffs for you "
“Really”.she asked excited
“Yeah”. I Stoke her hair before going back to work.
I was working when a call came in, I check the caller and saw that it was from my family doctor.I reluctantly pick you the call since he usually calls to check up on us.
“Hey doctor Joshua, what's up”.
“Benson, where are you “.he spoke in a low soft tune
“What is it Joshua, why is your voice this down”. I asked
He signed softly over the phone before speaking up
“Benson you have to be at the hospital this very minutes”.he spoke in a serious tune
“Why, what happened”. I asked confused
“Just come Benson, and please be fast “.
“Tell me what the matter is”. I spoke impatiently, but he just insisted I be at the hospital.
I felt fear and panic run through my body and I knew something was wrong, but I couldn't place it,
“Linda”. I called out my housekeeper
“Yes sir”.she rushed in
“Take care of Lilly, I will be back and if her mom's comes back, tell her Dr Joshua sent for me “. I stood up from the couch and pick up my jacket and left the house.
Charity left with my car, so I had to take a taxi.
Few minutes I was in the hospital looking for doctor Joshua.
“Tell doctor Joshua I'm here “. I told his secretary, who gave me a pity look before walking away.
Few minutes, doctor Joshua came out of his office with a sad look on his face, and then I knew something was wrong.
“Tell me what is wrong “. I asked in fear,
“Is my aunt okay ?”. I asked in fear,
The thought of something happening to aunt scares me and I couldn't hold it anymore
“Benson it's not your aunt but your wife “.he spoke slowly
“My wife “. I asked confused
“What is wrong with my wife, why is she here, she's supposed to me at the mall “. I spoke in fear.
Doctor Joshua took a deep breath before staring at me with a worried look
“Follow me”.he requested
Quickly I followed him, and we entered a room.
The moment I entered the room, I stopped breathing for a second, I felt my legs shake in fear with what I saw.
Laying on the bed was my charity with multiple of wires connect to her chest and a bandage in her head. I scream and ran to her,
“This is not possible, how can this be, she was perfectly alright few hours ago “. I sobbed in tears
“According to eyewitness, she had a failed break and the police are still investigating “.he spoke in low tune.
I fell down on the floor and weep in tears, this can't be happening, I can't believe this.
“Take it easy “. Joshua taps my shoulder lightly before leaving the room.
I signed softly in pain and sat on the chair beside her and took her hand in mine,
Few minutes I noticed movement from her and saw her open her eyes
“Hey baby “. I wipe off the tears from my eyes and smiled at her
What happened”.she asked in a shattering voice
“Nothing baby everything is fine “I said those words while kissing her cheek
She hissed in pain and tried to move a bit, but I stopped her
“Relax everything is fine “.
“My head, I feel so much pain in my head “.she spoke in pain,
“Relax, I'll go get the doctor”.
I rush out of the room and look for Joshua, who rushed to the room with me.
“Relax “.he told charity and started checking her
“This is not good, emergency “.he clicks a bottom and few nurses rushed in
“You have to leave Benson, I can't have you here “.
“What is going on “. I asked in panic
“You need to go, and you need to go now “.the nurses in the room pulled me out and close the door behind me.
I fell on the chair and cried out my eyes, I couldn't take it I just couldn't take it .
Few minutes the door was open and the nurses were the ones to come out.
“What happened”. I asked
But they all gave me a sad look and walk away
I rush inside the room and saw doctor Joshua in tears
“What is going on, why is her eyes closed “. I screamed in fear and rushed to Charity's side,
“Baby open your eyes I'm here “. I pleaded,
“Baby “. I shake her roughly, but got no response from her
“She's dead Benson, I'm so sorry we lost her”.he said those words in pains
“You are lying, you are fucking lying”. I shouted in pain and anger.
