Chapter 34 - The Stay

Jeong Won stopped at the door and quietly peeked inside the house before proceeding. Sure that no one was around; his grandmother might probably be in her room knitting and Hyo Jin playing around somewhere, he reached for Jin Ae's hand and brought her inside.

His index finger was on his lips while he guided Jin Ae, instructing her to be quiet. Although confused, Jin Ae walked as light as possible. She passed the living room and followed Jeong Won to a hallway. At the far end, Jeong Won opened a lone door, ushering Jin Ae inside.

It was a small room but a neat one. From a cabinet, he pulled out a mattress which he spread on the floor. He brought out a pillow and a comforter from a drawer. Jin Ae looked around after putting her bag down on the mattress, studying every nook and corner of the room. The house had a traditional vibe, she noted.

"You take a rest first, I'll go back after we eat."
