Push

A tear fell from the corner of my eye and down my cheek as another contraction started and the worse one yet coming.

Then I looked over at Dr Ma.

"Please, Ma. You better give me an epidural. Please, I'm begging you."

"No, I can't. You're not dilated yet. So I'm sorry," he said as he shook his head.

Oh, God!

All I wanted to die right now. This baby was tearing me apart inside, and something didn't feel right.

Just then the nurse walked in and told Dr Ma that Dr Bai asked her to call him only when I was dilated to five centimeters.

Mu Kai sighed as got up from the bed, and walked over to Dr Ma.

"How much longer is she going to be like this?" he asked.

"Every woman is different, Mu. And it's hard to tell because she's not even dilated to three- centimetre yet. So this could go on for another twenty-four hours."

"WHAT!" I exclaimed.

Mei Lin then took my hand and started rubbing it softly.
