[23] WTIE Spring (6/20)

Last night I had a dinner with my family for my birthday since it was on Saturday, when they asked for the reason I told them I was going out of town with Savannah and they nodded. Now Friday morning my bags were packed and Lip was waiting for me in the living room, he was going to give us a ride there then use my car until we came back.

Ever since he started working for O he has had about five hundred to a thousand dollars each week, he is like me and only does it twice a week so he doesn't draw to much attention to himself. Because of that he has plenty of money in his pocket now along with the squirrel fund being more stacked, now it would be a little easier getting through the summer.

Though we still planned to fix up the ice cream truck so that we could sell things just so that we can have extra, plus I remember this is when Kev planted all that weed. I actually got help from Ethel and she made me a gardening master, now I just needed to improve my cooking then I would be making all my own fresh meals from now on.

It was actually something no one knew but next year I was only going to be going to school for a month before graduating early, after that I was going to a cooking school that was near. No it wasn't my future career, I just didn't want to go through life without having this skill it was the only thing that I had trouble with for some reason so this is what my next year would be.

Getting out of my thoughts I went into the living room where Lip was waiting with Mandy, the two spent a lot of time together now even more than I thought they would. The moment I walked in Savannah came in through the front door, at this point she didn't knock anymore since she spent so much time here.

"Well then let's go the flight is in two hours but we still need to check in." I said picking up mine and her luggage before walking out with everyone following me.

The drive wasn't that long only fifty minutes before we made it there, we quickly went to check in and luckily they weren't boarding yet, but we were and hour early. After settling everything we sat in our lounge and waited for the flight to leave, we both got on our phones and started to do different things, mainly play games though.

While sitting a familiar voice called out to me, "Malcolm." With long strawberry blonde hair and bright emerald green eyes, Katie walked over smiling behind her was another girl who had long black hair and blue eyes, so not her sister. "What are you doing here? Are you also going to New York?"

"Also?" It seems like we aren't the only two who had this thought for this weekend, Savannah was also frowning next to me.

"Yeah me and my friend Emily here are going for their kick into spring Fashion show in Manhattan. What about you?" She said excitedly while taking the seat next to me.

I scratched my head and looked over to Savannah who despite frowning ignored her and went back to the magazine she was reading, "Nothing much me and Savannah are going to celebrate my birthday, it is just a little get away."

She kept the smile but from her tone it was obvious she was sad, "You and her.... just the two of you?? Are you two like.... together now?" towards the end she was getting hesitant but she still spoke what she was thinking.

I coughed cause I was startled, Savannah also blushed a little but because I wasn't looking at her I didn't see it, "No we aren't together it is just a friends thing."

Letting out a breathe her smile got more real, "Great then how about you guys come hang with us for the weekend then. We start school again next week so it will be fun if we all hung out."

"No thanks we already made plans that we don't want to break." Before I could answer Savannah spoke up putting down the magazine. Katie didn't have a chance to talk back cause at that moment they were calling for first class to board, that being them she could only smile sadly then leave.

"Thanks for that I really didn't have anything in my head to reject her." I said while leaning over and kissing her on the cheek.

"No problem." she smiled and then we got ready to get on since it was moving so fast for us to be boarded.

Three Hours Later...

We landed in New York and Savannah wanted to go out immediately but since I didn't want to lose our room I reasoned that we should at least drop our stuff off, she didn't even think of that. We made it the hotel an it was a four star, we both went in on a room together just for this weekend we were going to share a bed.

It was only midday but we hadn't had dinner yet so we went to a nearby restaurant an got a Brooklyn style pizza, we took multiple selfies posting them and sending them to our families. Lip was spending his weekend doing something with Mandy, though they could get out of the city like us he was still taking her to do something fun just the two of them.

After pizza we went to where I wanted to visit first which was just Central Park it was a place I always wanted to see and visit, the experience was nice we sat on the grass and just relaxed. Soon though Savannah got bored though I was having fun since I was drawing, we decide to take off there was something she really wanted to do next.

She led me into deep Manhattan and I had no clue where she wanted to take me but she took me to this bar that was a hole in the wall, the place was only accessible with a password. It was owned by her fathers friend so she was able to get the password from him, even if we weren't going to meet him here, the place was nice.

It was a speak-easy style that made it feel like we back in time, the bar tenders were dressed that was and everything, there was light jazz being played around that wasn't to loud. Seeing the message on Savannah's phone and after a short call we got free drinks, since it wasn't a raging club though we relaxed in the leather chairs.

"This is what I needed." she said with a small smile while swirling the eighty dollar whiskey she was holding, it was all free anyway.

"Yeah I didn't think that I would enjoy this place much but it is nice to relax like this once in awhile." I ran my hands through her hair she was currently in my lap, not but choice or maybe, though every other seat in the place was taken by members.

"What are we doing tonight?" she asked sinking into my touch and taking a sip of her drink.

"Well I was thinking we just see what we can get into there wasn't anything interesting when I looked up earlier." There were things I wanted to do but most happened tomorrow so there was nothing planned for the night. She nodded while leaning into me an listen to the music which changed into some Lofi beats, it was getting late but we didn't move.

Two hours later.....

I was a little tipsy an enjoying myself until I got a sudden phone call, Katie was sitting in an open chair now so it wasn't a problem for me to get my phone out of my pocket. It was a call from Katie, at first I didn't want to answer but after knowing that I blew her off earlier she wouldn't call unless it is an emergency.

"Hello," I answered letting out a yawn with it.

"Malcolm!" Her voice sounded frantic and there was loud music in the background, "Can you come to xxxx an get me an Emily these guys won't let us leave and..... and.. I am afraid they are going to do something to us." at the end she was crying the music got muffled like she moved somewhere else.

I sobered up hearing her and a tight frown took over my face I looked over at Savannah who was sitting up where we were wasn't loud so she heard the frantic shout. "It's Katie something happened." She didn't need to hear more but nodded at me and walked over to the back office for some reason.

"Alright I will be there soon hide somewhere with her and I will get there soon." I told her.

"Okay... do you mind staying on he phone with me?" She asked sobbing someone was comforting her most likely Emily.

"Sure we are on our way." I told her seeing Savannah come back she slipped something to me and it turned out to be a gun, she must have went to see her dad's friend. I put it into my waist band while she dangled key's in front of me, nodding we headed to the alley and got into the BMW that was waiting there.

The drive only took thirty minutes it led us to a high-rise apartment the party was on the top floor, luckily we didn't get stopped by anyone and we were let right up. Getting to the top the hallway was clear except for some people who were talking and smoking, going into the open door of the apartment we saw that the place was full of rich people doing random things.

"Which bathroom are you in?" I asked Katie through the phone.

"End of the hall someone is banging on it." She squeaked out, which was true I could hear some guys shouting through he end and I followed it since there was a little crowd leading that way. When we got there four guys were wearing sinister grins and pounding on the door trying to get them to come out.

"Come on girlies we just want to have a little fun with you." Douche with hair gel said while the people around only chuckled at him.

I hung up the phone and strode straight to him not even needing to speak to Savannah as she took out her gun getting ready, when I was close I threw a fist hitting the guy unexpectedly. Everyone was shocked and his friends were going to mess with me but they saw Savannah holding the gun and backed up holding up their hands.

"What the F*ck Asshole!" the douche roared but I just hit him again, when he didn't get knocked out I didn't stop until he was. Everyone around us was silent and stood back, not hearing noise for awhile the bathroom door opened slightly and Emily peeked her head out.

Seeing me she let out a breath and turned to Katie, "Your knight and shinning armor is here."

Katie rushed out and seeing me tackled me in a hug while crying hard, when everyone realized she was with me they backed off even more they just assumed I was doing it because the guy had beef with me. My knuckles at the moment were bloody because of his face and my cracked skin, I stopped hitting when Katie hugged me.

Savannah was still holding her gun but didn't say anything about it since she would hope that Katie would respect it enough if she was in the same situation, though with her carrying a gun that wouldn't happen. "Let's get out of here." I told Emily while carrying Katie, Savannah walked next to me but didn't put the gun away until we entered the elevator.

"I'm Sorry...." Katie said with her head buried in my chest.
