"it really is you" from the closeness of the sound of her voice, l can tell that she is not far from where l am standing but l can't lift my head up or else that will be seen as disrespectful

"Luna" l says out loud so that the Alpha and Antonio do not think l am disrespecting their Luna

Kartie and l have never been close. She always tried to be part of my closest acquaintances but there was just something off about her

"l apologise. I thought she was someone else." she says walking back to stand besides her mate with her head held high and a smirk on her beautiful face

She has always been known as the woman with the face of an angel. At first glance you will think that she is the sweetest thing to ever walk the earth until you wash your eyes clean of her spell and see the darkness that lies beneath

"you can go to the servant quarters" Antonio dismisses me and l walk away, still facing down at the brown patch filled grass beneath my shoes

"yes Luna" l say following after her to the outside of the pack. I keep my head down and follow her lead as she takes me to the forest where a table has been set

"Do you need me to clear this up Luna?" l ask in my very obedient voice

"cut the act will you Attica, l know its you. What a shame, you have been reduced to nothing but a dog that's on life support" she mocks titling her head back and laughing her insides out

"l am sorry Luna but l do not know what you speak of. I was told that l am an Omega when the pack found me. I have no recollection of my past" l tell her and like the idiot she is, she believes me

I have always been her biggest obstacle and she will stop at nothing to get me out the way and what easier way to do that than selling me out. If she thinks she is right but l do not remember who l am or my prior position l am not much of a threat to her although she will keep her watch dogs on my tail for any suspicious movement

"this just gets better. I must have done something right in my past life to receive such a blessing" she says cheerfully, sounding very victorious

"l apologise that l disappointed you Luna" l say remorsefully playing my role so that she will not suspect anything. And that is the first mistake people like her make

They think one small step towards victory means they have already won the battle and that's how they make careless mistakes

"you did not disappoint me, quite the contrary, l am pleased by your words and action. Sit with me" she says motioning to the seat besides her when l get a whiff of the smell coming from the food
