Chapter 13: Chasing after my enemies.

Janet's POV

I was still lowering my hand from my face after wiping off the blood of the rogue that I swept off his head when I suddenly saw Leroy's sword flying towards me like an eagle aiming at its prey. Without thinking twice, I immediately dodged the sword, but to my greatest surprise, I heard someone groan in pain behind me.

Immediately after I turned around, I saw the second rogue lying on the ground with Leroy's sword in his chest, and it dawned on me that Leroy's wasn't aiming at me; instead, he was aiming at the rogue who wanted to stab me.

Actually, when he attacked me with their leader, I didn't give him a cut; instead, I only smashed his nose with my knee, and immediately he passed out. I didn't bother to check if he was already dead or not.

"Seriously? You almost stabbed me," I said to Leroy angrily.

"Well, I would have been delighted in stabbing you for not obeying my instructions rather than to be stabbed by the rogue," he said to me. His eyes were burning in anger.

"How many times do I have to tell you to always crosscheck before celebrating?" He asked me with an icy glare, but I remained silent.

"Please get me my sword," he said to me before sitting down beside the tree.

Without hesitating, I pulled out his sword from the rogue's chest and walked to where he was sitting.

"Thank you," I said to him while handing him his sword.

After staring at me angrily for some seconds, he collected the sword from me with the injured arm.

"Don't mention it, Janet; that's what big brothers do; we always watch out for our younger ones," he said to me.

"By the way, you were awesome out there; I never imagined that you could fight like that. I'm really impressed," he said to me with a warm smile.

"Thanks a lot; hearing that from you means a lot to me," I said to him with an unsure stare.

"And why are you staring at me like that?" He asked me with a frown.

"Thought you said you couldn't fight with your injured hand?" I asked him inquisitively.

"Yes, and then?" He asked me with an icy glare.

"Then how did you manage to throw your sword at me with such accuracy with the same injured hand that you said you couldn't fight with?" I asked him while peering into his eyeballs.

"Maybe the wound has already healed before then," he said to me with a smirk.

With that statement, I slowly bent my head and looked him in the eyes before saying, "Liar."

Tony's POV

It has been over a week since I was crowned the Alpha of Oz pack, and to be sincere, this one week has been the best moment in my life.

Do you know how it feels to be on top, always being the one to command?

You need to be an Alpha in order to understand.

It's true that the citizens of Oz pack detest me with passion; if it were possible for them to dethrone me, they would have already done it, but unfortunately, they have no choice.

Whether they love me or not, I don't care; the hatred towards me isn't going to change the fact that I'm their Alpha and they are under my rule. After all, they never loved my father too, but still, he ruled over them for many years.

The thing that is sure is that none of them can ever rebel against me, because if they do, I won't hesitate to execute the person instantly.

As these thoughts were going through my mind, one of the guards walked in and bowed some meters away from me.

"Greetings, Alpha," he said while bowing down.

"Yes, you may arise," I said to him.

Without hesitating, he stood up and greeted the elders who were sitting in their positions too.

"So how may I help you?" I asked him from my throne.

"My lord, the men that you summoned have arrived," he said while bending his head.

"Ok, let them in," I said to him.

"Ok, right away," he said before heading out.

After some minutes, he returned with the men; they were three in number.

Once they came in, they prostrated themselves before me while greeting me.

"You may arise," I said to them, and immediately they stood up.

"Thank you for accepting my invitation; please take a seat beside my elders," I said to them.

Without hesitating, they immediately sat down on the empty chairs that were reserved for the guests.

Afterwards, I asked the servants to get them drinks, which they did immediately.

"My dear guests, I heard that you people are the best trackers in the Bloodmoon pack; that's why I summoned you people to my palace," I said to them.

"You are right, my highness; tracking is a gift that was given to our ancestors by the moon goddess, and it keeps on passing from generation to generation, and actually we are the ones that have inherited it, one of the men said to me while sipping his drink.

"Wow, I'm very happy to hear that," I said to them with a warm smile.

"Some weeks ago, one of the loyal guards we had rebelled against our pack by freeing one of my prisoners. Not only did he free the prisoner, he also helped the prisoner murder his colleagues, and afterwards they also murdered my father, who was the Alpha," I said to them, and immediately they widened their eyes in surprise.

"Please accept our heartfelt condolences, my highness," they said to me.

"I hope the guard was caught, because he needs to be executed alongside his family members," the second man said to me.

"No, he escaped with the prisoner before my arrival, and that's why I need you people to help me track them down for me," I said to them.

"That won't be a big issue, my lord, as long as you are ready to pay us handsomely," the first man said to me.

"Money is not an issue; if you people are able to track them down for me and, if possible, bring them back, not only will I pay you people handsomely, I will also make you people elders in my palace," I said to them, an immediately warm smile buttered their faces.

"That's a good offer, my highness; just consider it done," the third man who has been silent replied.

"But there is one more thing: I need them alive. I want to watch them suffer before dying," I said to them. My voice filled with rage.

"You can count on us for that, my lord," they said to me.

Wow, is Tony going to succeed in catching them?

Stay tuned to find out.
