Chapter Two

Kaguya

On the bed a beautiful woman with a swelling belly stirred, her icy silver eyes fluttered open, her long dark eyelashes veiled the cold expression in her eyes.

Kaguya felt slightly uncomfortable due to the weight in her abdomen. As she adjusted herself, Kaguya was stupefied.

A dream? No, it can't be. That felt too real to be a dream. Since the heavens gave her a second chance, she will not bother with that hateful cheating couple.

*FL is quick to adapt?

Although she wanted to kill that woman for what she did, it wouldn't bring back her son.

Fortunately she was reborn sometime before she would go into labor. The thought of her son brought a smile to her face, one that would steal the hearts of men and women.

From birth she was born with a weak heart, it was rather shocking to herself and her family that despite her weak heart her constitution was very suitable for cultivating.

Although cultivating helped her strengthen her physical abilities and mentality it took a toll on her heart when she overexerts her power.

As for her family, there were only her, her elder brother and father.

The Otsuki clan has always been small, it is tradition for men to only have one woman in their lifetime. That is one reason why their clan's numbers are minimal but it's also due to the Otsuki clan members fertility, for generations the members of this clan could only bear/conceive one child in their lifetime.

Kaguya's father was the only child and so was her grandfather. When her mother was impregnated with her it was a miracle to the elders and her parents.

She was the pearl in their palms. The Otsuki's princess. Her relationship with her elder brother was rather rocky, but as he grew up he noticed that his spoilt little sister was a very quiet child, even when she was born she didn't cry.

Over the years their relationship developed and he became a very overprotective sis-con. When he was 7 and her 3, they lost their mother.

The following years were a rather depressing period not only for the family but also the servants and people working for them.

Madame was a very friendly woman, not only was she fairy-like but she was the sort of person that could light up a room and make everyone feel at ease or happy.

From that time onwards, the father and son pair doted heavily on her. When she watched her father and brother return home injured she decided then that she would become strong and protect them.

Her teacher was a good friend of her father, and a knight under the royal guards in the palace.

Kaguya rarely ever attended gatherings even more so when she left home to become an adventurer. 5 years after, she returned. She was in her late teens, she had not only improved in her swords art but she became much more beautiful.

She had grown, she was taller than the average female, she had developed well into a woman. Kaguya was no longer the quiet little girl who would follow her brother around but a regal woman with grace.

In truth Kaguya had returned to end the engagement set by the elders before her birth between her and the eldest young master of the Kirisame clan.

Kirisame Sosuke.

During the banquet held by her father in celebration for her return and engagement, she had come to meet Sosuke.

Surprisingly they came to an agreement for their upcoming marriage, as both of them had no thoughts on finding partners they decided to go through with the engagement.

Looking at her fiancée she had to admit he was a handsome man, the only man who could possibly rival her elder brother in looks. Sosuke was known to be a tyrannical warlord, in fights he was a ruthless soldier he killed mercilessly leaving none alive.

He was rumoured to be a very intimidating individual, however Kaguya found him pleasant. Not only did he not gaze her with a lecherous gaze but he was a intelligent individual with good morals.

Similarly they were put into the same situation so they chose to get along rather than run away from it. The two had mutual respect for one another.

Now coming back to her caressing her swollen belly. Looking at the clock she determined it was mid-day, she had asked one of the maids what day it was and dismissed her. It was the 2nd of June and in two weeks she would be due.

In this lifetime, I will make sure you live a good life till you die of old age.

I hope you can forgive mother, I was not able to protect you properly.

Mother loves you the most, she whispered. Almost as if the child in her belly could hear her, it kicked inside her bringing a warming smile to her stoic face.

Dai-chan mother can't wait to see you.

She had moved into her sewing quarters pondering on which material would be good enough for her baby's clothes.

Whilst in thought, she was welcomed by the sudden outburst of the one person she did not want to see the most.

Why is this hateful bastard here? In her mind she wanted to throttle him right then and there but on the surface she appeared cold and indifferent.

She only looked at him for a brief moment before continuing to drink the tea the maid had prepared for her.

"Is there something you need?" She asked nonchalantly. What did this bastard want? Isn't he supposed to get off work later. Leave. Leave. Leave.
