The Goblin Attack (part 1)

The encounter with the boar was one of a kind for both Gojo and Grisella. Yet they continued to go to that spot to train themselves.

One day while training they stumbled upon some strange footmarks. They were very human like but quite small. There were two pairs of footmarks. Following them they came across a clearing in the woods. There they saw two green humanoid creatures of their height with point ears chattering with their backs turned towards them.

It was evident that these creatures were goblins. Goblins did not usually venture out of the forests. When they did they posed grave threat to human civilization. Plus killing them would help Gojo level up.

Having these thoughts in his mind he stepped into the clearing.

" Hey what are you doing ?" Grisella tried to stop him. But Gojo ignored her and walked towards the goblins. The goblins who had been alerted this sudden movement turned their attention to him. They pulled out their daggers and charged.

Gojo walked with ease as the daggers stopped inches apart from him. The goblins stepped back a little. They looked pretty confused. They started vigorously stabbing at him.

" You are weak. " Gojo shouted as he rammed one of the goblins against a nearby tree.

The other goblin looked back at it's companion and turned back to attack Gojo. But before it could do anything Grisella's sword tore through it's neck and came out from the other side. It vomited blood and died.

" That was pretty reckless. You should be more careful. " said Grisella with concern in her voice.

" Well they are weak, so they won't be a problem. " said a non chalant Gojo.

" Well they are weak I agree. However we were lucky that we just lucky that we met only a pair of goblins. They usually venture out in groups of five or more. Next time at least tell me what's on your mind before you attack monsters. " said Grisella.

But her voice fell flat as Gojo was just yawning when she was talking to him.

While the two friends were talking amongst themselves the goblin who had been rammed against woke up and tried to leave for the forests. But it's movement had been noticed by Gojo who ran towards him and twisted it's neck using lapse blue technique, killing it.

From that day, both of them started to hunt goblins occasionally to increase their level and experience.

On one such day, they were looking for goblins, when they heard chattering in some distant bushes. The chattering sounded like that of goblins. Both Gojo and Grisella tip toed their way to the bushes and looked around.

A few meters from them crouched among the bushes were a group of five goblins armed with large daggers chattering among themselves. In eager to kill the goblins Grisella got up to move forward. But Gojo grabbed her by and pulled her back.

What Grisella had not noticed was that in tree nearby the five goblins was a tree upon whose branches sat four goblin archers. There were five more goblins armed with daggers sitting a few meters apart from the first group of armed goblins. Another weirdly dressed goblin was standing and looking around.

The weirdly dressed one was a goblin mage and just near him were four armed goblins sitting on black wolves. In other words it was an entire goblin battalion.

" So what do we do ? Should we attack them ?" whispered Grisella.

" No we won't, a an entire goblin battalion is too much for us at present. " Gojo whispered back to which she nodded.

As they prepared to leave, they heard the sounds of multiple hooves coming from a distance. Actually the place where they had come to search for goblins was located nearby an old road. Since the road was unused they thought that no one passed through there.

As they looked towards the source of the sounds, they noticed a beautifully decorated horse coach rushing down the road surrounded by four armed gaurds on their horses. Just from the look of the horse coach anyone could tell that it belonged to some noble family.

Gojo looked at the direction where the goblins were gathered. He saw the goblin mage gesturing to it's companions were now creeping towards the road.

" What do we do now ?" asked Grisella.

" Yes we will attack them as soon as they attack the coach. We will only kill the goblins at the back, alright ?" said Gojo. Grisella nodded her head in agreement.

The both of them prepared to face the goblins.
