The Hell's Gate (3)

The loud roar filled the whole area. At the corner of the area the source of the roar could be seen. It was the exact same place where Alice had thrown the hellhound she was fighting.

The source of this roar was an elite hellhound. Although it was the same hellhound that Alice had defeated, after it had fallen in the lava pit at the corner, it had once again stood before them after evolving into an elite hellhound.

Also, the appearance and the characteristics of this hellhound was relatively different when compared to the other normal elites Lux had seen in his previous life. The horns had grown larger and right now, it looked as if it were the horns of a demon, the skin had been hardened and was like metal with some lava flowing like veins throughout its reddish black body.

Once Lux saw this hellhound, he could also feel the heavy aura it carried and the large amount of mana it had. Although monsters didn't have mana present with them, they had another special piece of crystal inside of them known as mana crystals which had a large amount of mana stored in them.

These stones were really valuable and also were sold for a lot of money. These crystals could be used as an external source of mana and could be used in common weapons and also for large industrial works. But, they could not be infused with soul weapons as it would completely change the properties of a soul weapon and make it just another common weapon.

Considering their value, they also had a really low drop rate as most mana crystals would lose all its properties after the monster that carried it died. After it's properties were lost, it would be nothing more than just a piece of garbage. Just gaining one of these crystals from an elite monster would be able to pay for their parents' health and even then he would have a lot of money left.

Everyone had already gathered in the middle of the whole area where Lux was watching the battle take place. They were frightened by seeing such a terrifying beast but even then, they had managed to stay calm after defeating one of the hellhounds earlier.

The elite hellhound saw Lux and his group at the center of the area. Quickly, it ran towards them at a truly frightening speed. Even under the effect of Lux's gravity field, it was really fast and had already closed the distance of about 20 meters in just a matter of 5 seconds.

Lux quickly gave everyone directions to stay in a solid formation. He had taught them some formations that were used to defeat monsters in dungeons. They quickly took their positions and looked towards Lux for command.

Even though the elite hellhound was powerful, if they all worked together, they would not have any kind of problem facing it. Lux quickly used Shadow Steps and arrived behind the hellhound before them. A frontal attack would be a major mistake as the strength of this hellhound would hugely overpower them.

"Lighting series: Gentle Flash Palm Attack" Lux chanted these words as he attacked the hellhound with a palm attack.

A flash of Lightning appeared before them and suddenly, the hellhound was sent flying back around 10 meters.

"Crystal quickly use Death Evident and Gilbert attack it with Flame rotation." Lux commanded quickly after he sent the hound flying back.

Following Lux orders, Crystal quickly casts the curse spell Death Evident on the hound. Now, any attack would deal more damage then normal when it hits the hound. Gilbert quickly after Crystal curses it, closes the distance between the hound and him and uses Flame Rotation. Suddenly, a circle of flames could be seen hitting the hound as it wails by the damage of Gilbert's attack.

It quickly gets back up and using it's speed, charges towards Gilbert who had still yet to regain his position after attacking the hound. Seeing this, Alice quickly uses Rain steps and stands before Gilbert.

"Water Vortex" Alice chants as she stands before the hellhound who was charging Gilbert.

A vortex of water appears and blocks the charge of the hellhound. Water type spells were also its weakness, so it takes heavy damage from Alice's spell. Before it could even step back, Killian appears before it using Flash and attacks it.

"Lightning Field Concentrated" Killian chants as he attacks the hellhound. With Crystal curse and Alice's water weakening it, it wails after getting hit by Killian's attacks.

When things look like they have won, the hellhound roars in an even more frightening way than before and goes berserk. It's speed also increases than before suddenly, it arrives before them even before they regain their positions.

Taking advantage of this situation, it quickly attacks them using Hell Flame Roar. A big line of flame shots out of its mouth as it roars in a really frightening way. Trapped in this situation, Alice quickly casts Water Wall forming a wall of water before them but, the heat of the flame quickly evaporates the whole wall.

All of them become shocked looking at this. Looking at this really bad situation, Lux quickly goes before them and tries to defend against this attack.

"Space Warp" Lux chants as the attack early hits them all.

They all prepare for a huge impact by the attack of the hound but, to their surprise nothing happens. They look forward to seeing what had happened to the incoming attack by that hellhound.

They see that Lux was standing before them and the ferocious attack that was coming their way had returned to where it came from. The fierce attack had rotated right before it hit them and had hit the hound who attacked them in the first place.

Everyone becomes confused on what had happened at the last moment. Suddenly, Lux who was standing before them falls to the ground along with the hound who was defeated.
