Reincarnation of a Failed Author: I Hate Clichés

"I hate clichés," I mutter under my breath, frustration etching lines on my face as I stare at yet another overused plot blowing up on the website of the novel I'm publishing. It's a constant cycle of disappointment for me, with no viewers, no readers, and certainly no feedback. In other words, I'm a failed author, stuck in a rut of uninspired storytelling. I can't quite recall when my disdain for cliché tropes first took root, but one thing is for certain— I found myself reincarnated into another world after an unfortunate encounter with a truck. Typical, right? I die in a cliché manner and end up in a whole new reality. "Damn it, I had to go and die in a cliché way too!" I grumble, shaking my head at the irony of it all. But this time, I have a new name, a new body, and even magical powers to boot. I'm now known as Helis, and this is my chance at a fresh start. After hearing the name of the world I had reincarnated into, Crisyes, I realized it was the world of the novel I had only written the concept about. It seems I've been thrust into the world that is on its last living decades. The details elude me, but I'm certain of one thing—this world is on a collision course with chaos. What I didn't anticipate, however, were the lingering threads of my previous life, the invisible connections that bind me to Earth. These mysterious [Story] strings will come back to haunt me, weaving a web of uncertainty and challenges that I'll have to navigate sooner or later. I may despise clichés, but little did I know that I would become entangled in a story far beyond my control. It's a tale where my past and present collide, and only time will reveal the true extent of its consequences. ------Notice------ THE STORY WILL TAKE TIME TO BUILD! Yes, it will start as a normal reincarnation story with cliché elements and cringe events, but the energy will shift at the last chapter of the first volume. The story will focus more on the development of the characters and world-building, not just, "Wow, found a golden cup which I'll drink from and become immortal." No, I will make it as realistic as possible, especially the characters. Oh, and the mc has a knack to trigger cliché events, that's one of the reasons he hates them. If you care about horny chapters, they do happen but later on when the time is right. That's it here, please support me through this journey, and most importantly: Enjoy!

School Squabble, I

"Oh, now you've done it, you retarded fuck!"

I yelled out as I stood from my chair, another punch was heading my way.

"Hmph," I shifted my body to the side, easily evading his swing.

I closed in on him and decided to lock my right arm over his left shoulder, stepped to his side, and kicked behind his knees.

He was forcibly dropped to the ground, dislocating his own shoulder in my hold.

"Kgha!" He groaned and then proceeded to yell his lungs out.

"Well, well, if it isn't the consequences of your own actions," I shrugged, "You all should realize when a person is being lenient, now back off before I break you all like sticks."

"Tch, we'll be back, you bastard!"

"Yeah, yeah, go cry about it now, I don't have the energy to deal with you, delinquent wannabes…" I shooed the losers away and packed my bag.

"Hm, why is it so quiet?" I looked up to see everyone still staring.

"Is something up?" I raised my brows.

"Heh, as expected of my boyfriend, he can easily deal with a High-Stage magic user." Selica boasted.

Clap, clap, clap.

The kids in my class clapped their hands in admiration, well, mostly the women, the guys still gave me glares and nasty looks.

"Sigh," My body slumped from the negativity I was feeling, "Don't hate me you all, I'm just trying to have some nice years with you all here."

"Tch," The guy who clicked his tongue left the class, the others following right after.

Now, this is going to be difficult… I thought to myself.

"Don't pay them any mind," My supposed girlfriend stood beside me, trying to cheer me up.

"Yeah, yeah, you can go home now," I wanted to make her go away, "Oh, and by the way, I don't want to be your boyfriend."

"Gasp!"

Why so in sync!?

Selica scoffed, "I see, may I ask why you'd reject such a beauty like mine?" She asked as she caressed her body from her face and down to her chest and then stomach, slowly making her way towards her nether region.

"Although this offer sounds enticing and all, with you pointing out your selling points to me, I'm a guy who believes in honest love and someone who doesn't go for looks alone."

"How rude…"

"How dare he make a mockery of Miss Selica?!"

"Sniff."

"Ah…" Breath escaped my lips.

Is she crying…?"

I creak-opened my eyes in her direction.

Yes, she is!

"Ah, s-sorry, I apologize, I was just trying to act tough…" I said as I went close to her, not knowing if I could touch her or not.

Ah, just do it!

"Sorry, okay? Let's go get a drink and clear this all up." I said as I held her shoulder with my left hand and pushed her chin up to face me with my right hand.

Her wide, blue sapphire eyes were brimming because of the tears.

Oh, how beautiful are these temples that seem to suck me in, but how wicked the owner is.

She seized hold of my uniform and voiced, "Hehe, I got you," with a wide mischievous grin on her face.

"Sigh, at least dry your tears before making such a face, you bipolar being," I grumbled after I left the class with Selica, her arm linked with mine.

"..."

We were simply walking right now.

Today's classes were over and the school seemed to grow quiet.

I got lost in thought during our simple stroll around the campus.

I'm doing really well right now, aren't I?

I used to avoid everyone in my previous life.

I allowed myself to lose interest in the things I loved, leaving me an empty husk with no connections.

I remember sitting back and leaving myself to become a secondary character in my own motion picture.

I drowned in lies because I had no control over my life.

I just stayed up late, motivationless, trying to fight my thoughts against myself.

"-elis?"

"Helis!"

I finally snapped back to reality, "Uh, yeah?"

"What's with that frown? Am I that boring to be around?" Selica questioned with puppy eyes written on her face.

"No, it's not that, I was just lost in thoughts, that's all."

"Were you thinking about how to make a move on me today?" She wavered her eyebrows like a smooth sea ripple.

"Ah, no. I don't do such stuff unless I have romantic feelings for said person, and so far you're not doing well in my attractivity list."

"Hmph," She whipped her head to the other side as she pouted, "You don't realize what you're missing out on."

"Yeah, I must be quite oblivious of you…" I just trailed off, feeling sour from my previous thoughts.

"Were you thinking about your past?" Selica spoke, hitting the bullseye.

"Can you read minds or something?"

"Nope, it's just written all over your face, and the mood is all gloomy now."

"I do apologize for that, being such a loser when I have such a baddie beside me, I've really stooped down."

"Baddie?"

"Nothing you should concern yourself about, I use made-up phrases."

I couldn't just tell her that there was another planet that used dumb words such as this.

But she's a baddie, and I must bag her, because I'm not even Helis the vigilante– hold up, let's stop at this, I don't need any copyright strikes from my previous earth.

Selica snorted cutely, "Pfft– You're really weird, Helis."

"Like you're one to talk, Selica, in one moment you act cutesy, the other one you are a cold dagger, and then laugh immediately after crying," I went over her behavior since I met her.

"It's going to take me time to figure you out…"

"But it's going to be worth it, isn't it? I'm getting marriage offers every day and yet you got me to stay by your side without any conditions."

"I'm grateful about that, Miss Golden Aubrey–"

"Well, well, what do we have here?"

Oh, c'mon!

"We heard there was a kid causing issues amongst our juniors."

How did another cliché event get triggered?!

"Ah, I did it on my own, didn't I?" I voiced as I saw the kid I beat the shit out of, hiding behind a senior.

"We told you you'd pay for this!"

"T-Thats…" I heard Selica's shivering voice by my side, "Luke Crimson, a Knight-Potential mage…"

Ooh? A Knight-Potential?

This means I'll have to get a little serious, doesn't it?

"Our dear Selica is well informed, that's right, be prepared to get–"

"Yeah, yeah, shut up now, let me beat your ass so this will be over quickly."

Phew, I had to write this chapter on my phone and it was a disaster doing so, the reason for that is simple, I didn’t go home, but I didn’t want to miss a daily upload.
