Reincarnation of a Failed Author: I Hate Clichés

"I hate clichés," I mutter under my breath, frustration etching lines on my face as I stare at yet another overused plot blowing up on the website of the novel I'm publishing. It's a constant cycle of disappointment for me, with no viewers, no readers, and certainly no feedback. In other words, I'm a failed author, stuck in a rut of uninspired storytelling. I can't quite recall when my disdain for cliché tropes first took root, but one thing is for certain— I found myself reincarnated into another world after an unfortunate encounter with a truck. Typical, right? I die in a cliché manner and end up in a whole new reality. "Damn it, I had to go and die in a cliché way too!" I grumble, shaking my head at the irony of it all. But this time, I have a new name, a new body, and even magical powers to boot. I'm now known as Helis, and this is my chance at a fresh start. After hearing the name of the world I had reincarnated into, Crisyes, I realized it was the world of the novel I had only written the concept about. It seems I've been thrust into the world that is on its last living decades. The details elude me, but I'm certain of one thing—this world is on a collision course with chaos. What I didn't anticipate, however, were the lingering threads of my previous life, the invisible connections that bind me to Earth. These mysterious [Story] strings will come back to haunt me, weaving a web of uncertainty and challenges that I'll have to navigate sooner or later. I may despise clichés, but little did I know that I would become entangled in a story far beyond my control. It's a tale where my past and present collide, and only time will reveal the true extent of its consequences. ------Notice------ THE STORY WILL TAKE TIME TO BUILD! Yes, it will start as a normal reincarnation story with cliché elements and cringe events, but the energy will shift at the last chapter of the first volume. The story will focus more on the development of the characters and world-building, not just, "Wow, found a golden cup which I'll drink from and become immortal." No, I will make it as realistic as possible, especially the characters. Oh, and the mc has a knack to trigger cliché events, that's one of the reasons he hates them. If you care about horny chapters, they do happen but later on when the time is right. That's it here, please support me through this journey, and most importantly: Enjoy!

Magic, I

"Well then, Helis… Shall we do it?"

Selica whispered as she brushed her breasts into my arms, making me get all conscious of my surroundings.

Hmph, my springtime is here!

I didn't think I would be moving things so quickly, but a man should be a man when he must be one… What did I even want to say by that?

Well, point is, I won't freak out like those annoying mc-s that don't take the relationship anywhere for hundreds of chapters, and yet again, when they are cornered and have to do something, they still find a reason to get cold feet and bail from the scene.

The perfect example could be Mid-School BxB, that main character was so annoying even if the story was full of fan service, my guy had over five women ready to do the devil's tango at any given time, and yet again, he never did crap.

Agh, just thinking about it makes me lose my shit.

But I'm not like that, whether it's on the school grounds or my own house, if the need to go through this arises within the woman then who am I to refuse?

I quickly shifted my neck to the front, back, right, and left, scanning the whole area if someone was walking within the school grounds.

The coast is clear, the sun has set, the stars and the beautiful moon are shining upon us, and overall, Selica is staring at me with that beautiful and enticing expression on her face.

Is she ready to have sex already?

It's only the first day, though.

Is this alright?

Am I taking advantage of her?

Numerous thoughts crossed my mind instantly during the time I shifted my torso towards her direction, towards Selica's direction.

I stared into her light, blue, and beautiful wide eyes which shone under the luminescent moonlight, giving her silvery gunmetal hair a beautiful glow itself.

Now that I'm taking a good look at her, she really is beautiful.

She's got long, slender legs, she is skinny, she looks like a good student too, and overall, a fun and outgoing personality.

Even though she is of the Golden bloodline, as far as I've seen of her, she isn't your usual spoiled child of a noble coming.

I took that impression of Luke at first too, but after the duel, he seemed rather respectful, even though I was younger than him.

Why am I thinking about that?! I got a much bigger deal on my hands here.

"I-Is it alright, though?" Why did I stutter?!

It's embarrassing as hell, but the whole romantic mood with the cicadas singing in the background is making this even more difficult to resist.

Selcia's eyes darted away from mine, "Yes, it's alright." She said with a high-pitched voice as her face seemed to flush.

I raised my right hand from the ground, dusted it off against my clothes, and brought it up to the side of her face, my thumb in front of her ear while the rest were holding her scalp.

My fingers flowed through the threads smoothly.

Bump, bump, bump.

I can't believe it's the first time I'm about to kiss a girl.

This is way more nerve-wracking than I thought it would be.

Maybe those mc-s had a reason to– No, it's unjustified, when you have the chance offered, why shan't you grab it?

And so, I shut my eyes and began closing the distance between me and her.

She looked to be doing the same.

Thank God I didn't misunderstand this.

***

I spoke too soon.

I have this habit where I reach conclusions quickly, although they are wrong ones.

"Why didn't you just say it outright?" I asked, rubbing my cheeks, "In the first place, you didn't have to do that at all!"

I complained.

"Heh," She scoffed, "You didn't think I was that easy, did you, now?" She voiced as she held her own chin while gazing at me with the coldest look known to man.

She and these mood changes she has.

"Even so, you didn't have to freeze my face over!" I yelled.

"Hmph," She let out a spoiled humph.

Not the food type of spoil, but the children ones that go like "The world is mine. Whatever I wish upon thy shall happen."

"You could've just told me to walk you home instead, not go through this charade," I grumbled again as I ignited a small number of mana particles to warm my hands and face.

"Well, Selica, let's make our way now," I said with a grumpy voice as I stood up, taking hold of my bag and then beginning to make my way towards the school gates.

I can't believe I managed to enroll in such a luxurious school, I gotta give credit to my pops for this.

If he didn't grind his back off to go adventuring and find that mountain of treasure which included gold and compressed mana crystals, I wouldn't even have thought of getting a chance of following lessons in such a place.

Although it was my parents' dream to allow me to come here in the first place when they decided on this town, but, I know I would've rejected the offer and sweet-talked them into doing something else instead.

I was quite the guy with words, I used to be an Author in my previous life so it's obvious.

Well, besides that, currently I'm walking Selica home, and I've got to say, it's gotten rather awkward.

"So, are we close to your home yet?" I asked, still moody since that prank earlier.

"Yeah, almost there." She spoke in a normal manner, her mischievous behavior was nowhere to be seen.

Right now we were just two humans walking down a street in the early night.

"A lot happened today…" I said, lost in thoughts as I looked to the ground.

"This is it," Selica interjected.

"Huh?"

"My house."

I turned to the side to see a giant mansion, "I should've expected this," I sighed.

"Well then, Helis, it was nice to meet you, I hope we'll get along finely from now on too."

"Couldn't say the same."

"Tch, idiot." She spat.

"What is this behavior for a girl of your background?"

"Ah," she ignored me, "Tomorrow we have physical magic classes, Helis, I look forward to seeing what you do there… and announcing that you can triple-cast." She smirked.

This bitch.

"Well, well, my lady, you will be in my care from now on, so please don't blackmail me."

I wish I could erase her memories, wait, that's possible if I use Transcendental Arts.

"I don't need much from you, just continue being my boyfriend at school and have training sessions with me."

First part of the fourth chapter done, the next part is going to be about the info that otherworldly being gave Elias in the beginning.

I hope you enjoyed, and support please :)))
