A Counterattack

A nervous expression spread across Qin Li's face.

Long Lingqing saw it and furrowed her brows. At this point, she was still not as vile or enamored with money and luxuries.

Countless thoughts ran in her mind. If Chen Fang's words were true, then he indeed had more than enough reasons to want to bury Qin Li's face in the ground. Nobody would feel good seeing the face of a person who wanted to ruin their chance for graduation or cripple them.

But there was a reason why she still found the whole thing unbelievable. All the other person did was to accept her breakup notice with a calm countenance. Why would Qin Li want to do that to Chen Fang?

'No, Qin Li is my boyfriend now. I can't blindly believe Chen Fang.' Long Lingqing shook her head and then asked. "It's not enough proof, Chen Fang. For all we care, they might just have happened to go to that place. They might not be planning to do anything to you at all!"

Everyone else shared the same idea. Seeing rebellious college students congregating somewhere on the campus instead of attending classes was not enough evidence.

The gangsters and Qin Li who were initially nervous secretly sighed in relief. Then they threw gloating glances at Chen Fang.

"I know. Of course, their appearance there could be a coincidence."

Yet they later noticed that Chen Fang strangely did not lose his calm. All eyes went on him and he did not make him wait long for his response as he added, "I heard Mr. Zheng's group doesn't work without pre-payments. How about we just check their accounts to see if a transaction really happens between them?"

Before the two parties could complain and express disapproval, Chen Fang already snatched Qin Li's phone which was in the latter's left hand. Inputting endless asterisk in the emergency call dialer still worked around this year so the phone got unlocked by him in no time.

"Damn you! Give it back to me!" The one whose phone got snatched naturally grew angry.

Chen Fang retreated behind the nearest police officer. His goal was to check the call records and have the police request the telco network the conversation in this particular time. Of course, he was not sure if that was possible. So he could not help but laugh when he saw quite a large transaction between Qin Li and Zheng.

His nonsensical excuse was actually not as baseless as he thought. How surprising. 'Hey, it's already 2016, okay?'

How careless and naïve were these people to not delete suspicious records?

If Zhang Mei Xing heard his thoughts, she would have also laughed too and said, "You should thank me for your absurd luck, boy."

Strictly speaking, the so-called pieces of evidence that Chen Fang presented were nowhere near enough to convict anyone behind the bars.

But Chen Fang was really lucky.

Chen Fang was ecstatic. And he laughed loudly when Qin Li glared daggers at him.

This is what you get for being complacent and evil. His eyes seemed to be saying to the annoyed guy.

Long Qingling naturally tagged along as she was both worried about her boyfriend and curious about the truth.

To be honest, while she was the genius at school type, she was not one to think too deeply about real-life matters. Right now, even though Qin Li was almost confirmed to have done something grave against Chen Fang, she still felt flattered. Because two boys fought over her.

If one thought about it like that, of course, they would feel good. Even the most hypocritical man-haters loved it when people gave them attention and made them feel so special.

"Heh. Qin Li, huh. Poor Chen guy. I know that Qin Li. He's quite the a*shole because he's got some money and connection to a gang."

"I don't really hate the rich since there are many respectable rich people, but Qin Li just happens to be quite unlikable."

"Yeah. So can someone tell me why is Goddess Long with him?"

When Chen Fang and the others disappeared from sight, people began to discuss what they just witnessed. The opinions of the witnesses varied.

Qin Li did not have a good reputation. His arrogant and self-centered personality just didn't click with others.

Add in the fact that people always sympathized with the underdogs, which in this case, was obviously Chen Fang.

Eventually, people forgot that Chen Fang punched Qin Li in a hotel. They only remembered that the latter paid delinquents and gangsters to set up Chen Fang.

Of course, there were still many uninformed and they were curious about why a feud started between those two male students. Those who knew the reason generously answered that it was because of a girl. Her name was Long Lingqing.
