Empty Chair

D's eyes narrowed. Obviously not satisfied with her answer. But he can tell that Elaia gave him an honest answer.

The angry expression of D turned into a confused one.

It was the second time now, D thought. First at the chapel, he was absolutely sure that he was wearing his coat. And now, this girl can still see her. He checked his attire. Yep. Coat. Check. Then how the fuck is this possible? She's not even a ghost yet.

He can still feel her steady heartbeat. Her blood running through her veins. Her warmth. He was absolutely sure that this woman is alive and not a wandering soul.

D wishes that his two servants can now get him the books he needed. He wants to find the answer on why this girl can see him.

The first time she saw him, he thought that it was just a coincidence. But still, he got curious so he let Akila and Vainos find him the books that can answer all his questions about humans seeing an immortal God like himself.

The only ones who can see immortal Gods were God, Lucifer, Death himself, and creatures created by the Gods like him to be their loyal servant, Vainos and Akila were the perfect examples for these said creatures.

He was about to interrogate more about this woman when a man's voice interrupted them.

"Elaia! There you are. C'mon! Let's go! It's about time for us to board our plane."

It was Arion.

Elaia looked at Arion, then to D. She lifts her chin as if telling D goodbye and went towards Arion.

Arion and Elaia runs toward the entrance of their plane.

Then Arion asked her while they're still running, "Elaia, what were you doing inside the coffee shop?"

Elaia chuckled, "Uhm, isn't the answer obvious? I ordered myself a coffee"

Arion snorted and asked another question, "I mean, why are you staring at an empty chair in the corner of that shop? You were like, uhm, just standing there and looking at a chair. I would definitely understand if you're looking outside the window. But why look at an empty chair?"

That made Elaia stopped running and so is Arion when he felt that she wasn't following him anymore.

Empty chair? Didn't he see that D were sitting on it?

"It wasn't empty, you silly." she said.

In all seriousness, Arion looked at her eyes and said, "Yes it was, Elaia. It was empty. No one is sitting on the chair that you're looking at"

Shit.

Deep shit. Why do you think Elaia can see D while Arion can't? Hmm...
