8 squad 4 , kaido and meeting captain commander

seiretei was huge and it took us 50 minutes to reach squad 4 barracks travelling with normal speed . we then saw injured shinigami , some lightly bandaged and some with missing limbs which reminded me and mayumi of the cruel truth . the scene steeled our resolve to train more to protect our loved ones which didn't go unnoticed by captain unohana and she nodded slightly and went inside .

the inside was divided in small spaces with curtains or walls with beds laid there for the patients accordingly . the thick scent of medicine reminded of earth and mother which showed on my expression for a second and vanished quickly. captain unohana took us to her office and told them to introduce our motives for joining the squad . mayumi told her about her dream and I told her the truth . I told her that I would only learn kaido here and leave after learning the basics for all healing spells to improve them myself with time as I never told a lie to people I loved or respected if it wasn't necessary. she just nodded and told us to follow her outside .

captain unohana POV

these little kids are interesting, one is pure and the boy is intelligent and straightforward . he looks strong because he didn't even flinch when I directed my battle intent towards him . oh no no , my desire fight is again coming looking at this boy . looks like he is hiding secrets from me . well let's see what they can do with kido and their control over their reiryoku.

normal POV

we then reached the training grounds where captain us to demonstrate the highest kido spell we could cast . I guessed she wanted to confirm our control and mastery of spells to train us accordingly. I then whispered mayumi about her purpose and told her to go all out if she wanted to learn seriously .

after our small talk mayumi casted the spell

BAKUDO 39 TSURIBOSHI AND HADO 33 SOKATSUI which earned praise from the captain . then it was my turn and I decided to go all out . I the casted the spell BAKUDO 63 SAJO SABAKU AND HADO 63 RAIKOHO which surprised her greatly and I enjoyed her expression silently.

we then went inside and listened to captain about the basics and principles of low level kaido which was used to heal small bruises and regain stamina slowly. after teaching us , she disappeared somewhere which confused me but I decided to not think about it as I never doubted a respected or loved one needlessly .

when we were trying to reproduce the spells demonstrated by captain , in captain commanders office in squad 1 barracks captain unohana visited suddenly .

inside the captain commanders office

genryusai - what's the matter unohana to show yourself straight in my office with that scary smile you showed during the old days in battle . (with one eye closed and cane pointed at captain unohana )

unohana - (with the scary smile ) my smile is not scary captain commander stop joking . it's just that my blood boiled after such a long time looking at a new recruit in my squad . his name is Ken. he graduated from academy in 2 years and showed me 2 hado and bakudo no 63 spells without any incantation effortlessly. sigh kids these days hahaha.

genryusai - hahaha. hoho.. then we must meet him to test his character if it is fit to serve in gotei 13 or not .

then they talked about my motives for joining squad 4 and dissapeared and reappeared inside captain unohana s office where we were practicing the spells with green light emitting gently from our hands .

I was surprised to see captain commander and woke mayumi up from concentration and bowed at him and forcing a bow for mayumi with my right hand who was still angry at me for breaking her concentration . she also quickly realised the situation and shut up immediately with a red face hiding her embarrassment. while genryusai laughed I quickly connected the dots in my head and concluded that captain unohana must have went to captain commander and reported to him my battle prowess which was corrected.

I then quickly assumed that that genryusai must be here to test my potential and character so I just sat there and let him examine me . he silently examined me with a piercing gaze for a minute to notice any change in expression which I obviously didn't mind as I had nothing to hide except my strength and never planned to betray seiretei. after that the left leaving bewildered mayumi and signing captain unohana .

genryusai POV

well well , this young man is good hiding his strength from me . hahaha not possible as I can see it from the small buff muscles. hoho such strength at a young age reminds me of my young days . hoho .. he just sat there now like saying observe all you want as I have nothing to hide . good good kid honest and intelligent . hahaha captain level strength at a young age and calm mind . sigh such potential , nowadays captains standard in strength has decreased so much from our time . forget it , let's leave and let chojiro observe him from time to time . hahaha..

when genryusai left we showed our captain our results in spells at which she was extremely surprised and happy . I then showed her my control over reikyou slightly to impress her and told mayumi to do the same. to say she was surprised would be an understatement. she never asked how we reached such control which I appreciated greatly . I the whispered in her ear that after some years I will fight her , watched her intense battle gaze and smile and dissapeared from there to finger the secret training grounds of urahara and yoruichi .
