Chapter Fifty One- Guild Master Ivan

Chapter Fifty One- Guild master Ivan

The Guild Master? I began to sweat, just why had the Guild Master come personally to register me?

As he sat down, the pressure in the room intensified, he looked from Violet, then to me.

"James Wrathead I presume?" His intense voice poured into my soul.

I was stupefied, how could he know my name? this place was in the middle of nowhere, I glanced at Violet, thinking she might have told him, but she shook her head.

Just as I was about to ask, the old man put his hand out stopping me. He then laughed.

"You're wondering about how I knew about you, am I right? How couldn't I? You are the second in history to ever have access to all the sword forms! Just what kind of organization would we be if we couldn't even keep tabs on one fledgling?" he continued to laugh.

Was this seriously the case? I became anxious, just how many eyes were on me at all times? Were people watching me from the shadows while I was on my own for that month? Just thinking about it sent shivers down my spine, yet, I digress. Perhaps there have been eyes on me from the beginning, after the Royal informant came over to confirm I really could use all the sword forms, all those years ago.

Such a scary feeling. As I was anxiously in a daze, the Guild Master's voice rang out. "But don't worry, we only are keeping track of your movements, I mean just what kind of guild would the adventurers guild be if we never introduced the next pillar of the kingdom? We would become a laughingstock" his road thunderous laugh rang out once again. It reminded me of Edward, An warming feeling overcame me, the pressure of just before had vanished, and I felt much more relaxed.

"Well we might as well get down to the main point, James I heard you want to join the Adventurers Guild?" The Guild Masters tone become suddenly serious as he glanced at the fear-riddled Violet, then at Ralph, and further to Sydney.

"Guild Master, if it is not a problem, I would like to register as well as register to join my friend's party, if that's fine." I injected myself into the conversation.

He looked at me and smiled. "Of course, it's all right for you to join their party, just remember, although they are all B-rank adventurers, you will have to start at C-rank, nonetheless I will make an exception and allow you to take on B-rank quests, allowing you to participate in the same ones as your party."

Allow me to take B-rank quests? I couldn't ask for anything better, this Guild Master really understood me well.

"Well, I can't thank you enough Guild master." I began to smile, the atmosphere had changed, allowing Violet a breath of fresh air, aswell as Ralph and Sydney who had begun to calm down more.

They all looked at James, just how was he so good at making casual talk with someone of such importance?

The Formal Tone between James and the Guild Master had begun to break down, allowing a more casual conversation to take place.

After a while of talking to the Guild Master, I noticed that he was easy to get along with, besides his fierce appearance, his nature was nice, he was even casually talking to Violet, Ralph, and surprisingly Sydney. Before long the door opened up and the same assistant who had brought us to the room came in.

She then handed me a card.

"This is for you James, it is your Adventurers license, It allows you to cash in rewards, and acts as proof of identity, you can use this in towns which had Branches of the Adventurers Guild to get discounts on the place where you will be staying, just make sure not to lose it, it costs a lot of money to obtain one, and talking to you, I have come to realize the reason as to why you are becoming an adventurer, he laughed.

I laughed in embarrassment and scratched the back of my head, had he seen through me? Money was the case, without money, I was a carriage without a horse.

As I accepted the card, I was informed of some other insignificant things that I had to watch out for before the Guild Master got up and extended his hand. "Ivan Greenwood, it's good to finally meet you." He said, I shook his hand and replied. "James Wrathead, I'm hoping for a long-lasting relationship, I'll be under the care of your Adventurers Guild from now on." After that, Ivan patted me on the back. "Don't worry about it, anyway, I don't want to keep you and your friends too long, I won't see you out." He then allowed the Assistant to escort us out and into the main hall.

"He wasn't so much of a bad guy, he was nice."

The first one to speak was Ralph, and who could blame him? One of the most powerful people in the Adventurer Guild, he had been properly talking to him, and he was a surprisingly nice person who threw status out of the window!

Violet whose mood had significantly improved, and she even agreed with Ralph… had the world been flipped outside down? Such a rare occurrence.

"Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves, how about we walk around town and buy a few things before accepting a quest?" Sydney, although she didn't look like it, was in charge of the finances for the party, she had the final say in whether it was all right to buy things that would benefit the team. After we all nodded to her idea, we walked out of the Adventurers Guild and began walking down the street.

.....

......

.

"James Wrathead, such a fine young man, I Just wonder what perilous journeys await for him in the future." An old man's voice could be heard from the top of the Adventurers Guild, he was watching as James and co walked away.

Another voice sighed. "I just hope he lives long enough to become an asset to the kingdom, the pressure on the kingdom only grows by the day, the other nations have forgotten our prestige, once the renowned Kingdom that was at the forefront of exterminating the Magic Continent of all evil, now laughed at by the other smaller nations, just how long will we last?" the man lamented, just who was he?

The guild master smiled. "Don't worry, that young boy has potential, I mean to be able to control all the sword forms? Just who else but the future ruler of this world is capable of doing something?" The Guild master roared, causing the sword at his waist to light up… with three colors…

Unbeknownst to James, he had just met one of the most power men in the entire kingdom.
