Training and Death Flashback
The training of Arnold and Militis started after two months.In the past two months, they were being taught how to read and write by Mr. Alish.Arnold figured out most of the ways to use the letters univocally but Militis still had a lot to learn as she was inadequate in terms of using all the letters spot-on.
After they were tested how much they learnt to read and write their training was decided to start in the royal training grounds.Arnold was being taught by Sir knight Rodolf and Militis by Mr. Alish.
The training they both received was intense.Arnold improved his footing and learned different sword styles.Militis learned to use the bow since she couldn't lift a sword.After training for 1 year both of them was tested personally by General Luka."Come at me at once both of you".Arnold and Militis both took the position they are best at.Arnold started running and decided to deal the first blow as Militis was going to cover him.
(In the end, they couldn't leave even a scratch on General Luka's body)
After the fight, General Luka granted them their titles.Arnold was frustrated for losing 100 times with zero wins. There were few people present and all of them were heads of elite forces since Arnold and Militis will be given the work of assassination besides their details were confidential.
After the titles were given they became familiar with the head warriors. Some were friendly but some had no interest in them. After 3 or 4 hours later the ceremony ended and both of them were told to meet General Luka for some privy talk.
"Welcome, how did it feel? did you guys enjoy it?".No, I was feeling miserable for not being able to land a flawless blow." Well, I've been doing it for 10 years, it's only been a year since you guys started learning so it's to be expected".I know General Luka but still, it's irksome." I also should have tried hard,I'll do much more practise to defeat you one day sir"."Well good luck Militis I hope you accomplish it".
"Now I called you to tell both of you to visit the memory hall". "Memory hall?", "what's that?", asked Arnold with a hesitant voice." It's a hall with a tree so ancient that its age is unknown, the tree can show one their past memories".Arnold was happy hearing it, he wanted to figure out how he ended up in the street being naked and weak." So, both of you are ordered to leave today for the memory hall".Okay, Sir, we'll do that.
They both were given a carriage for travel to the memory hall." How many days will it take to reach the memory hall Arnold sama?".General Luka told me about two days to reach the capital so three days maybe as the memory hall is in the Miritic region which comes after the capital.
After 4 days they reached the memory hall.Arnold couldn't wait to see his past memories but they needed to get a permit from the hall priests. They got it at night so tomorrow morning was the time they were going to visit the hall." Today is a nice day isn't it Arnold sama?".Yes, it is. The head priest came to greet them and show them the path. The hall was huge, it had old crafts engraved in its pillars. The thing that shocked Arnold the most was the tree, it was a big sakura tree.Arnold went ahead and touched the tree, as he touched it he started to see a room with half white and half black colour.
(Women's voice)
"So, your finally here after all this time". Who are you?, why can't I see you?." You don't have to see me just listen to what I have to say".Ok I will hear what you want to say but before that, I want to know how did I ended up naked and walking down the street feeling weak."Well you gave up the ghost and your soul took control of this body".What?,How did I shuffle off this mortal coil? tell me in detail."I guess you are oblivious about your past life, you were bitten by an ant in your leg and handed in your dinner pail".I don't get it."Close your eyes and see for yourself".Arnold closed his eyes and he started seeing flashbacks of his past self.He was in Australia just as he thought, he wasn't delusional.He was a University student who was studying Entomology. One day they went to one of the coastal islands of Australia to check a certain type of ant species called "MYRMECIA PYRIFORMIS".His classmates were gossiping and he was walking alone beside a tree and he suddenly felt like something bit him in his leg.Arnold started recollecting his past knowledge.He was a knowledge-seeking person in his past life and his favourite quote was Knowledge is power by "Francis Bacon", said in "Meditationes Sacrae".He also remembered that he found a bulldog ant in his shank and his body felt numb as his knees touched the ground. With a slight sigh Arnold thought to himself so I bit the big one because of an venomous ant and now my ability is becoming an ant, how much of a standing joke will my life turn out to be?. Arnold felt sorry for himself that he croaked 15 minutes later because of the bulldog ant bite for not getting an antidote but he was at least happy that he did not die a cliche death like getting hit by a truck shown in mangas.
"Are you done?".Yup, I've seen everything and I don't regret dying since I'm alive right now." Your life will be glorious in this world, you will have lots of friends and you can enjoy life from a new angle".I know I was always alone in my past life as long as I can remember just because I was too studious than other kids. The teachers would always praise me which other kids hated so, nobody wanted to talk with me even when I became a University student but I'll change myself and live my life chasing my passions in this life.
"I'm rooting for you and hoping that your wishes may come true". I don't understand one thing how did I ended up naked in this new body?."Well, It's for you to figure out".Another question what are you?."Me?,I'm a fairy soul inhabiting this tree". Ooh, I see I guess it's time to let go of my hand, thanks for showing me my past existence."Ok, I hope we meet again bye". A few moments later Arnold opened his eyes and noticed there was a black barrier enclavering Militis. Nobody was able to approach her and she was unconscious as her hand was placed on the tree.Arnold wore his cape and touched the barrier and he was able to enter it.As the cape shows different colours of life force upon being touched Arnold thought it might also absorb the force of the barrier enabling him to enter the barrier and it worked.
Arnold touched the hand of Militis and was trying to detach the hand from the tree but her hand was strongly attached to the tree.The head priest was attempting to say something to him but the barrier was cancelling the sound.Arnold had a phenomenal ability he developed in his past life and it was reading the lips of others to figure out what they were saying about him behind his back. He knew that it's wrong to eavesdrop on what others were whispering but he wanted to check if there was someone who wanted to be his friend as he was lonely he wanted to have someone to relate to. That's how humans are like, they need sadness to appreciate happiness.
Arnold figured out what the priest wanted to say to him. Arnold was told to kill her which he would never do.He tried figuring out the reason behind the creation of the barrier. Arnold touched the hand of Militis and after a while, he was inside her consciousness.Arnold saw her life fragment sitting and crying in a corner of her created space.The corner her fragment was sitting was pitch black and the other parts were blue.
Arnold went closer towards her fragment and asked," what is it that you fear?"."The fragment of Militis looked at Arnold and told, I'm afraid of being secluded". Arnold placed his hand on the head of Militis's fragment and told her it's okay to feel lonely, if you feel lonely it's a sign that you are human and you want to connect to others.Life can be hard and depressing but that doesn't mean you should give up on finding contentment. Whatever comes I'll always be with you.
Heeding what Arnold said the black space became white and Arnold got unlinked from her consciousness. Arnold opened his eyes and saw that the barrier was gone and Militis was lying on the floor being unconscious.
Holding Militis in his arms he took her to a doctor.The doctor checked her condition and told Arnold not to worry she'll wake up soon, she's just exhausted.After a few hours Militis woke up and saw Arnold sleeping sitting on a chair beside her and it was already dark outside.Militis went back to sleep.
The next day Arnold woke up and saw Militis cooking.Arnold became angry and told her to rest,he'll cook today." It's okay I'm fine Arnold sama".No, you are not okay go and take rest. Seeing Arnold insisting her to take rest she laid down on the bed to rest.Arnold then started cooking and after he was done he came to Militis with food but she said she was not hungry.Then why we're you cooking?."I was cooking to feed you Arnold sama".Arnold felt happy hearing her and petted Militis on the head and told her thanks smiling broadly.
After a day they departed from the Miritic region and we're headed for Anteria region the stronghold of General Lujack aka Luka.
