Seth froze while seeing the name of his novel as a topic on the board. Though he wasn't sure if it was going to be something to do with his novel, but he still thought otherwise.
He calmed himself down and tried to focus on the teaching like others. Of course, no one would want to joke with their first lecture in the Dormant Academy.
Seth brought out his jotter from his storage ring and placed it on the flat table in front of him. Shortly, the teacher started an explanation of the topic:
"Legacy of Gods is a legendary system of culture in Litchnigan today. LOG is a state whereby Personified Gods pass down their mighty Powers to the souls they grant Abilities to. However, this can only occur when that soul has attained more than two cores in their Soul Chambers."
The teacher continued:
"Also, that soul, which is our soul, must have ranked up to 'Supreme Lord' in the Ability Rank and should be at least, (S-)-level in their Ability Level. If not, one cannot be a partaker of the Legacy of his/her own God's Powers. You can only have an Ability till the end of your life."
'That's never bad,' Seth thought.
After taking some water, the teacher continued her lecture. This time, she began to walk around the class.
"A decade ago, a Supreme Lord-ranked man became a Personified God after leveling up to (S)-level in his Ability Level. Now, he is the God of one of you since this is the first time he is buying a soul. One thing I would have to say to you guys for a start is this: don't try to miss the opportunities that comes your way. This is your first day at the Academy so we won't waste much time on learning."
Seth nodded, and a slight smile suddenly appeared on his face. The truth was that Seth wasn't willing to learn about Legacies, Gods, and Lords. Blah! Blah! Blah! This was because he knew that he wasn't going to go that far in ranking up.
"Okay, I'd like to know your names, your clans, and your family. Since this is your first time, I'd like to record them on the Trainees' File. Okay, I'll start with you," the teacher pointed at Seth who was sitting in the front row.
Seth was somewhat shy to talk, but he knew that keeping his mouth shut was only going to cause an explosion of laughter in the class. He didn't want to get bullied at the end of the day.
"Umm, my name is Seth Rotunda, I'm from the Rotunda Family in the Golden Fox Clan," Seth said and sat down, his eyes was fixed to no other place but his table. He couldn't even look at the teacher in the face.
"Okay Seth, you are welcome," Mrs. Kella said with a smile.
Then others began to mention their names. Two newborns sent the class dumbfounded, a girl and a boy. The girl was from the Nunez Family of the Blue Whale Clan while the boy was from the Madison Family of the White Wolf Clan. The main point of the amazement was that these individuals were newborns to "Supreme Lord-ranked' fathers.
The teacher was also surprised, though, that didn't stop her from welcoming them the same way she welcomed others. Anyhow it may be, she was sure that they might not end up being as strong as their parent.
After the name inquiry process, Mrs. Kella wrote down everything and asked them to leave. Tomorrow, an orientation program is going to take place in the Academy's Main Hall, so all Newborns will have to prepare for it.
The Dean had also ordered that there would be no combat training today since it was their first day in the Academy.
Now, it was time to get a room. The Dormant Academy only opens during the Moon Coming period and closes after the Moon Day until another year. Since Affinities die within three years after reincarnation, some Newborns would like to wait for another year or two before attending the Dormant Academy.
However, after these three years, the Dormant Academy will shut down for seven years since the Portal Opening only happens every decade — which is the day of the Trade of Souls.
At the western part of the Academy, some group of teachers gathered at one spot, handling room tickets over to Newborns. But that wasn't what was bothering Seth. He was only looking for two people and these figures were no other people than the Half-elven and the Penn Family's newborn.
Scrutinizing around the area, Seth did not notice their appearance. However, it seems that Class C was not done with their lecture. Newborns' class code was written on the back of their shirts, making Seth notice that no Class C trainee was in the crowd.
Clenching his fist in anger, Seth walked toward the Room Ticket Collection standpoint. Upon reaching there, he stood calm and waited for his turn to collect his room ticket.
It didn't take up to ten minutes, and Seth was already standing in front of a teacher. Then the teacher gave him a short card — about the size of an adult man's fist — and told him to proceed to the Academy's Motel.
Seth got there after seventy meters of walk and entered the building. He glanced at the digits written on the card and read them in his thought:
'H14, R2045.'
This is the code of Seth's room.
Seth searched for his room, counting gently as he walked forward on the 14th floor of the motel.
"R2034. R2035. R2036. R2037... R2045. Okay, let's see," Seth said with a slight grin and entered the room.
As he moved into the room, he got his first glimpse at the expensive Type-1 bed. Without wasting time, Seth quickly bounced on his new bed, breathing out a soft sigh right after. He rested for about a minute and finally sat up.
"I can't just stay idle in here doing nothing. Umm, should I continue with reading the History Book? The Academy offers free reading to the trainees," Seth said and looked at the shelf on the right side of his room, "yes, the History Book is there. I'm going to continue from where I stopped."
Seth quickly stood up and walked towards the shelf. He also saw other books other than the History Book but that was never going to be touched by him.
Seth brought out the book and went back to lie on the bed. He crossed his legs in the air and flipped up the pages to Page 34. He had finished reading the first part written by Magus Tyler so he would continue from the second part.
As he placed his gaze on the book, Seth sighed softly and began to read.
