The 99 Legion

CLAP CLAP CLAP

"Bravo! Simply Bravo!" A'polo cheered. "You've fasted thousands of our cousins and killed them for being weak." He glanced over the corpses of his cousins and felt nothing. They were weak. Why should he care about them. Even his brother, O'polo, didn't glance at the dead and carnage around them.

"Now the first round is out of the way. Let the 99 Legion have its fun!" He spread his arms like a ringmaster. Once they heard their orders all members of the 99 Legion activated their personal techniques in quick secession and attacked Alduin!

The first to strike him was a Giant/Zanthrian hybrid. All 4 firsts landed on Alduin's head sending him hurling into side of the colosseum. He was taken aback by this sudden attack. Alduin examined his systems and immediately got feed back. That punch had dented his the metal on the right side of his face by .001%! His head snapped forward and all anyone could see through the dust cloud was his brightly lit flaming eyes.

The 99 Legion felt off. As though they were being watched and judged by their actions. They ignored the feeling and began to attack Alduin. Though their teamwork was much better. The melee focused members stayed back as guards while the ranged attackers used their ranged techniques to fight Alduin.

Their attacks missed as Alduin had taken off into the air. He soared above, but was still locked in the colosseum. The ranged attackers kept up their onslaught as Alduin flew. Beams and breaths and blasts technique of a variety of colors. He weaves through the attacks narrowly dodging them. As he flew he turned his head opening his mouth.

"[Abyssal Breath]!" A stream of pitch black smoke spewed out of his mouth and onto the battlefield. The 99 Legion all covered their mouths from the smoke. Those with techniques to resist toxic gas used them. Similar to [Battle Auromor] gas masks made of pure energy formed around some of the members faces. Once they had their mask on they began to recast the techniques on their allies helping them with the smoke. Though for some it was too late.

A handful had inhaled too much of the smoke. Their skin began to grow pale turning white. Their eyes began to bulge and turn red as they choked. Their muscles began to constrict forcing them to fall to the ground in the fetal position shaking violently as though they were having a seizure. Veins began to pultrude from their body glowing a sinister green color.

Onlookers watched in horror as in only a few seconds their friends died. Their muscles in their throat had constricted hard enough to choke themselves to death. Though, the affects of the smoke didn't end there. Once those that were affected died their bodies began to shrivel up like all the moisture in their bodies was evaporating. As their bodies shriveled up a viscus black ooze started to pour out and pool around their bodies.

Everyone, including the twins, watched with widen eyes as the black ooze started to move on their own. The black ooze didn't move to attack, but rather moved and covered the dead bodies. The black ooze morphed taking on the shape of the dead. The ooze phased through the skin of the bodies turning them from a palish white to a pitch black. They looked like withered black metallic mummies as they slowly rose up from the ground!

Each still had their 4 arms, but any feature from their previous race was now gone. They all looked the same with the same height. They were all bald with sunken facial features. Their eyes were gone. Replaced by the same fire similar to Alduin's, but the color differed. The fire was a rich purple color. The newly undead looked at the living with hunger in their flaming eyes. Their jaws stretched unnaturally as they screeched!

The Twins were the only to notice, but Alduin had used a technique! They weren't sure what type of technique it was. It had something to do with the undead, but they could tell there had to be more to it. As they thought about it they skipped over a very obvious fact. Alduin was a machine that used a technique! They were more focused on the technique it used rather that it had used one as a machine. They were so used to analyzing their foes that they simply fell back into their old habit.

As they thought about the type of technique, they couldn't figure it out. They couldn't tell if the technique used mana or aura or maybe something else. They were too low in cultivation to understand truly under stand. As they were thinking about it, the now 86 Legion were stunned. They had watched their their cousins were killed so quickly and resurrected.

"Go my minions! Attack all those before you!" Alduin ordered his undead. The undead screeched again and charged the living. The first to react to this was once again that Giant/Zanthrian hybrid. Covered in bright red [Battle Auromor] he dashed towards one of the undead. He towered over it before clasping all its hands together.

"[Double Axe-Handle Crash]!" The giant cried out as the Auromor around his fists shined brightly as more energy was channeled through it. He swung his powerful fists downward onto the undead.

SLAM!

A crater formed under him and the undead he struck. His fists created a powerful gust of wind that sent the [Abyssal Breath] smoke away . The giant had a smile on his face that quickly changed to confusion when he felt resistance. The undead was on one knee and had caught his attack and show no signs of being hurt. he raised his eyebrow confused. His attack could even hurt those in the Liquifying Realm! Even the Twins praised his strength! How could a scrawny undead stop him!

He shifted his weight to add more force pressing down on the undead. To his surprise the undead not only equaled his strength, but slowly started to over power him! It managed to stand up on both feet while simultaneously grabbing his arms. The giant tried to pull away but found that the undead had grabbed him tightly. Starting to panic slightly he lifted the undead off the ground and shook his arms violently, hoping to get it off. Yet the undead persisted.

His cousins tried to help, but the giant began to truly panic! He Screamed in terror as he ran to the colosseum walls. He swung the undead into the wall over and over again hoping to break free from its grasp. Crater after crater was made in the wall as fear overcame him. After a few dozen swings the dust began to settle around. He no longer felt the grasp of the undead. He looked over his arms seeing marks where the undead held him. He smiled as he was finally free.

SQUISH

Two leathery hands reached out from dust grabbing the sides of his head. The giant started to freak out. The feeling of the undead holding not only grossed him out, but deep within him he felt pure fear. He grabbed the wrists of the undead with one pair of arms while the other pair were grabbed by the undead's other pair. With its prey in its hands it added force to his hands to crush the giants head. He screamed out in pain and begged his cousins to help him, but it was too late.

The undead used all its strength. It first broke through the helmet made by the giants [Battle Auromor]. Once the technique was destroyed the giant was next. First was hide eyes. They popped out of his skull as the undead squeezed. The giant did all it could to break free, but the undead was too strong. He squirmed and fought as his head was slowly being crushed.

CRUNCH

The undead crushed the giants skull killing him instantly. His body fell limp to the ground. It let out a guttural screech before charging the rest of the Legion.

Some tried answer the call, but they were stopped by the undead. Even if they were all only 5ft tall the undead were fast and strong! While their giant cousin attacked the undead, the rest didn't remain idle. The other undead, even out numbered, scattered in every direction confusing the 85 Legion lost their coordination as the undead zig-zagged through their group attacking the ranged attackers in the center of the group. All hell let loose.

The melee focused fighters tried to hold off the undead horde, but they were too quick. They made it past them and attacked the squishier ranged Cultivators. The Undead grabbed the ranged cultivators by limbs lifting them off the ground and used them like weapons. Unfortunately for them their melee fighting cousins also had weapons, swords and shields and other similar weapons, all made out of Aura. They used their swords, maces and axes to 'block' the attacks of the undead. Only they weren't blocking, but rather slicing their own cousins in half.

In a handful of minutes of fighting both sides reduced their numbers. The Legion was now down to 43 while the undead numbers were reduced to only 1. It wasn't even the undead that killed the most, but the cousins killing cousins. Accidental parricide. When the undead used their cousins as weapons they had no option, but to cut through them. Some that survived felt extreme guilt while others started to have the same mentality as the Twins. The weak die for the strong to get stronger.

Alduin and the Twins didn't interfere during this fight. They both watched for a variety of reasons. The Twins had already stated they wouldn't fight till the Legion won or they were dead. Judging how events were playing out the Legion would need to be rebuilt. Not only that, but they were studying the Techniques Alduin used and figured he was a summoner, but with a very tough body. Once again when they sensed Alduin, they didn't sense any energy or mana radiating off his body.

They realized he was a machine they had an intense realization that it had used a technique! They couldn't believe a machine could use a technique or even be a cultivator, so they didn't. They came up with some other explanation as the alternative was impossible. They assumed the wyverns creator gave it a battery that could use some of its masters skills.

Alduin on the other hand didn't participate in the fight as he was in his own head. The techniques he used weren't ones he knew. At least not initially. He first noticed it when fighting Gigus-Rex, that something deep within him spoke to him. Telling him what technique to use and how to use it. He started to question who or what the voice was.
