Chapter Six: The Broywnes

Kylexsis POV

Cerulean and I had crossed part of the land that was visible to our eyes in a few hours. The sky was a deep shade of golden and red as we traveled miles. We didn't know how long we had walked nor did we know where exactly we were going, there was still no town nor house in sight to stay for the night. And after my rough and memorable encounter with those rapist at the tavern I decided to settle for inns and steer clear away from them.

My stomach grumbled painfully and I gripped it, giving it a silent promise to fill it up as soon as I could. Cerulean and I had shared the little bread that I had stored from last night but it only did so little to ease our hunger but we stayed clear of the meat. Something about having that sickly salty sweet taste of the meat on my tongue churned my stomach in a bad way, so we both decided to throw it away without any regrets. However the little bread only made me feel nauseous from lack of food and water, and I could feel the exhaustion in Cerulean's bones. I tried offering to get off him but Cerulean was not having it. He deliberately latched onto my wrist with his fur and prevented me from moving off him without having to hurt him.

"Our connection helps and I feel better with it." He said to me. And I wasn't going to complain though. My body still hurt from trying to control my mana and I wasn't ready to wear myself out more with trekking. I enjoyed the breeze though and my clothes were moist by the time we were walking up a steep slope.

Cerulean entertained me by explaining to me more about the world as we walked on. The planet was called Tundran and it was divided into eleven realms or sectors as he calls it. The Fire Sector, The Water Sector, The Light Sector, The Shadow Sector, The Earth Sector, The Spirit Sector, The Air Sector, The Faerie Sector, The Elvin Sector, The Goblin Sector and the Thicket. I could only imagine how big this world was considering the fact that each sector was as big as two continents. However, he didn't know anything about the societal and governmental hierarchy of Tundran. Not that I cared much for it. I was never one to meddle in the dynamics of politics. I was a scientist, and adventurer now it seemed. I wasn't going to waste my limited time on such frivolous activities that would bring nothing of good use to my mission.

Cerulean also told me of the days of the week which was still seven by the way named according to when each element was created. The first day of the week was the day of darkness called Nyx. The second was the day of light called, Aether. The third was the day of air called, Auster. The fourth was the day of fire called, Ares. The fifth was the day of water called, Aegeon. The sixth was the day of earth called, Gaye. The seventh was the day of the spirit called, Elpis. And then there was the month of the year each named after historical chronological events that took place on Tundran. The first month of the year was called the month of famine named, Limos. The second month was the month of hearts and love (kind of like valentine) named, Kama. The third was the month of Growth and Harvest named, Auxo. The fourth was the month of flood named Kai. The fifth was the month of heat named, Pyr. The sixth was the month of quakes named, Geo. The seventh was the month of health named, Xu. The eighth was the month of Autumn named Xarpo and the last month which was the month of frost was called Boreas. Yes I know, ten months of the year, colour me surprised.

"Ugh, when are we ever going to reach the town of Lockheed." I moaned in distress, falling forward onto Cerulean's furry neck that emanated petrichor.

"We're not far Lexi, we'll reach there by nightfall, I think." Keyword: you think. Suddenly, Cerulean paused in his movements and rose his head to sniff the air. I pulled back and shot him a puzzled look, wondering what he was doing." Lexi.....I smell people, sniff the air."

I obeyed, raising my head and using our connected senses to sniff the air around me. Surely there was the prominent smell of pheromone but then a horrible pong hit my nostrils. Cerulean and I looked at each other, both our eyes widened in fear.

"Blood." We chorused and turned to look back up at the slope, both our hearts thumping in rapid and hard unison. I had just seen blood last night and this morning I wasn't ready to see more. The memories are enough to haunt me for years.

"Lexi--" Cerulean croaked, completely frozen in his spot unable do anything when the shrilling cry of a little girl split through the air. That was enough to spike adrenaline making me urge Cerulean forward." Lexi are you sure? Your mana may be plenty but you were drained when you connected with your void. What if whatever monster attacking that little girl is above you? Plus you haven't even trained enough yet? What about spells huhn? What if you need an elemental spell to defeat it? Huhn? Or a cast spell both that includes incantations? Even if what you need are wordless spells how are you sure that you will name them in the heat of the battle because trust me if you don't....it'll be as weak as a cloth being thrown to the face."

"Maybe you're right, Cerulean. Maybe that thing can kill me, kill us, but what am I if I ignore someone who is in need of help. What will that make us? It's a child, Cerulean, I don't care if the monster is above my level, she'll die if we don't do anything." I frowned at him feeling disappointment coil in me. I kicked my legs at his side to urge him forward but Cerulean refused to budge.

"Kylexsis my first priority is to keep you safe. This... whatever you're about to do is not safe." He exclaimed with reason and trying to make me see that same thing but his fear only fueled my urge to save her.

"Nothing is safe. Nowhere is safe. And I hate to break it to you but this mission isn't safe either. After last night I made a promise to purge the land of evil, and I was not just talking about the evil of humanity, I was also talking about the evil lurking in the shadows. It is my mission isn't it? To save the world and save it's inhabitants? Cerulean, I don't want anyone to have to go through a painful experience like I have."

"You can't save anyone." Cerulean said softly now, knowing that either way I was still going to win this argument.

"I know I can't." I answered biting my lips." But I can sure as hell save the ones that I can, and if there is even a flicker of hope right now..... I'll take those odds."

"Lexi--" His voice sounded pleading.

I tightened my grip on his fur and he kept shut." And plus. I am your master and you are my daemon. You are mine Cerulean, mine to command. And I command you."

Cerulean finally smiled after a second as a rush of pleasure travelled through me." I never thought I'd hear those words of authority from you. You have no idea how happy that makes a daemon. Alright, I will do what ever you want master. Just direct me through this as I will reciprocate."

"Tell me what I need to know." I ordered smoothly kicking his sides so he would go forward and fastening the buckle of my backpack tighter around my slim waist. Something was telling me that this would be a bumpy ride.

"You don't have the knowledge of cast spells or elemental spells that had already been created, and you aren't in the right mind to create an incantation for yourself yet. Wordless spells are the only thing you can do right now. But remember, you must name what ever you do."

"Why?" I asked, my heart beating faster as we ran up the slope.

"Remember when I said that your words are your power?" He asked and I nodded even if he couldn't see me." Wordless spell for others are only strong if your mana is strong, but what you say is what your mind wants. It's another way of using your will through your words, the more determined you are the more stronger your power is, the more powerful your words are the more powerful the effects of the attack skill is. When you call out the name with vigor you call out the power with strength. Call out whatever you want to do, name it but only if the skill's complexity is something that only you can do and not anyone else except they learn of course. A normal strike need not to be named."

"Okay, muscle up then buttercup, we're here" I took in a sharp breath the moment we reached the top and braced myself for what I was about to see. And there were monsters alright.

The monsters were about as tall as sixteen feet with a moss green shade on its skin. It had a flat but very short rump with the belly strongly protruding between four short powerful legs. The tail was moderately long and in a club shape with protruding bony spikes around it. It's long neck supported it's small elongated and pointy head. The neck was covered with two bone rings with groove spikes at the sides that relatively got smaller, there were two spikes at the start of the tail and spikes that went down to the club shaped end. This looked like Jurassic park come to life. And they were two, attacking what seemed to be a family of four.

A woman who must have been the mother held on to her little boy who was settled in between her thighs in fright. Her left hand was pointed up with fingers spread wide to conjure up a pink transparent shield that covered them both. But she seemed to be straining with each hit the beast delivered on her shield with its spiky tail. Her face was crunched in pain and her shield cracked, I didn't think that she was able to hold on much longer. The second was busy with the other two people at the right, swinging it's tail and trying to stomp on them with its odd-toed foot. I didn't know what to do. The little girl was trying her best to conjure up vines that shot out from the ground and wrapped around its legs to keep it steady while the other, a man, shot balls of flames from his burning hand.

It did nothing but scar the thick amoured skin and anger it more. With a furious roar, it broke free from the vine bondage, the force sending the girl toppling to the ground and swinging it's tail right into the man, sending him flying a few feet on the grass.

"Sebastien!" The scream of the woman snapped me out of my gaze. Putting on a brave face and taking in a deep breath I kicked Cerulean's sides with the heel of my Snickers and urged him forward and into danger.

"They're level three monsters and their skin is almost impregnable. Almost. Aim for the head, it is the most vulnerable place on the Spicetae-lacertae." Cerulean's voice boomed in my head as we rode towards the battle"Remember, your will, your words. If you want to make something happen just think about it vividly and shape it with your power. Be careful."

"I will." I whispered climbing Cerulean's neck and getting ready to take off into the air. As we got closer to the commotion, I placed my hand to my chest and rubbed my fingers of it." Amber...I command you to lend me your strength and your power."

Instantly, I felt my tendrils of mana grab on to me and fill me up with power, followed but the pulsing of my lightening magic and the feeling of amber's tendrils sinking into my veins. My hands sparked with electricity. I pressed my leg onto Cerulean's head and shot up into the air towards the beast attacking the woman's shield.

And then....

....

....

....

.... .... .. .

It all happened in slow motion. I suddenly knew what to do, like I had done it a thousand times, like a different persons view overcame mine and strategies filled my head. My hands generated enough lightening that created a duplicate picture of Zeus's lightening bolt that I had managed to imagine in my head. With a swift move, I slashed the air into a cross just above the head, the blue line visible on the air. I took a deep breath and thought of a perfect name for the skill." Lightening Cross!" I screamed heartily the same moment the cross slashes struck the head of the beast. It roared and wavered on its feet. One of the slash had taken one of the eyes and the other hand made a deep slit on its head. I stared at the buzzing lightening bolt in my hand, amazed at my own power even after being so drained of my mana. The beast looked disoriented and in pain, moaning loudly before collapsing sideways on the grass.

"Holy crap." I exclaimed looking from my lightening bolt to the beast. Just one slash and it cut through its and I quote "almost impregnable" skin. Realising that I was still in reality, I whipped around towards the woman and found her already looking at the likely dead beast. I took small careful steps closer to her in other not to frighten her more. I knew just how much halfbreeds were feared and known by the words I had heard yesterday." Hey, are you okay?"

Both her and her son's head snapped towards my direction, both pale face and expressions studying me carefully. Their faces and body was littered with bruises, a deep cut on her son's thigh, although within the commotion he didn't seem to notice nor care. Her brown eyes travelled my face, before stopping at my ear, her eyes widening." You're a-"

"Kylexsis! A little help here!" Cerulean screamed from behind me.

I turned around and saw Cerulean dodge each strikes of the tail. The back of his hair was standing up and his long canines bare in warning. My heart thumped in fear for him, and I just stood there already out of ideas to use. "Kylexsis stop worrying, I can feel your negative emotions and it's distracting, just trust me and wait for my signal." Cerulean screamed. There was no panic or trepidation in his tone, he acted brave and coordinated, gracefully dodging each strikes like the feline he was. The beast slammed it's tail down on the ground a little too close to Cerulean's body and I tried not to scream. He dodged it calmly, the monsters tail got stuck in the ground for a moment. As it tried to rip it's tail away, Cerulean took a deep breath, his eyes flashed with electricity before he jumped into the air and landed with a force that dug a hole in the ground and electricity dispersed into a straight line towards the beast. It stuck it's jaw and sent the head up in the air." Kylexsis, now!"

My power surges on its own--no, Amber surges me, the lightening bolt in my hand brightened and pulsed ready to be used. An idea crossed my mind and I readied my self like a pitcher before a throw. Shifting my weight, breathed in and out before throwing my lightening bolt with all my might into a straight line. It propelled through the air with an unimaginative force and lodged itself into the eye of the beast, emerging out from the other side and disintegrating in the air. The beast roar was short lived as it collapsed to the ground with a loud thud. I stared down at it, taking deep tired breaths, the use of my mana had redrained the energy I had saved up with the food.

"Good work, master." Cerulean teased from afar, a small distant smile on his face." Not bad for a first battle."

I nodded and turned back to the woman again, her shocked face staring at me agape. I gave her my most calm and harmless smile." Ma'am, are you alright?" I asked her again, walking slowly towards her with my hands raised in surrender." You are hurt, your son is hurt let me help y--"

Before I could finish my words a scream drew our attentions away from each other and towards its direction. The little girl was kneeling on the grass bloody hands pressing hard on the man's stomach, who was immobile on the grass." No!" I gasped in terror running over to them,, the woman and the boy following behind.

"No,no,no,no,NO! Not my boy." She screamed and burst into tears dropping to her knees beside her daughter. She brought her hands upon the deep gash on his abdomen and pressed while closing her eyes. I was frozen watching the man moan and writhe in pain, his face was scrunched up and his breath was barely coming out unsteadily. Fuck!

You can't save everyone. The words of Cerulean rang in my head and I pushed it away, realising just how right he was.

The woman's lips began to move as if she were speaking, but I had no idea what she was saying. It was as if what ever words that was coming out from her lips was inaudible to the ears and only on a level that could hardly be heard. Her hands glowed green upon the wound and only did I realized she was healing his wounds with magic. However, her healing didn't do much to help him, it only managed to close the wound quarter way but the blood was still oozing out, she sobbed shaking her head and trying her best to heal over and over again. Eventually her eyes began to drop, and her breathing labored.. He skin was getting dangerously pale. His breath was getting heavier. He didn't have much time to live.

"M-m-mother-- m-m-mother--." He groaned in agony reaching out weakly to grasp his mother's hand that was still on his injury. She looked up at him, the green light on her hands fading away and tears dripping from her brown eyes." Please stop, y-y-you'll only hurt yourself. Please stop."

"How can you say that!" She cried leaning her head on his broad chest. Her sobs escaping her lips and her body trembling." How can you say that to me."

"I'm sorry b-but we b-both k-know how this will e-end." He murmured and closed his eyes to take in a painful breath.

"Zeymah-da-- zeymah-da, kir ni.....kir ni bo....." the little girl wailed in a strange language, holding on tightly to his hands, the little brother had nothing to say as silent tears slipped from his eyes.

"Thank you, for saving them miss....." He said weakly, voice hoarse and croaked as he offered me a weak smile." I wish I could repay you for your generosity...."

"No, no, you don't have to, you don't have..." My voice broke down into a sob that I tried to swallow down. I didn't know him, yet it hurt so much to experience such moment. His family was going to lose a son and a brother, that was enough to bring tears to a stranger's eyes.

He tried to nod and turned to look at the sky, a weak defeated smile crossing his lips." Ah...I was going to join the army....I guess I'm going to have to go back on my dream."

His dream.....his dream. I had a dream back on earth, but I couldn't reach it because I died. Now I have been given a second chance and I have more dreams to fulfil. It wasn't fair how he was about to leave the face of Tundran. He didn't deserve this, no one did and I doubt that he would be given the choice of reincarnation like I was. I didn't want him to die, I wanted to prove Cerulean wrong and save this soul. I wanted to will his soul to be saved. I used my will, see? Now please, anything, I don't care where you come from, whether it be the wind, the sun, the waters, the earth or plants, please lend me your life and save him. I knew I didn't have the power to heal someone, even if I could use the water magic to do so I didn't know how to and there wasn't any water near by.

"You can't..." I whimpered staring at him." You can't go back on your words...you wanted to join the army? Well you will.....you just...hang with me okay. Stay here...."

The man turned to look at me in wonder, a stray tear dropped from his eyes and I caught it, but more dropped and dropped and dropped and then I knew.....he didn't want to die. There was so many emotions swimming in those orbs, those orbs of an unaccomplished man. There was still so much in store for him and this wasn't his end. It couldn't be.

"Please." I screamed to the heaven and closed my eyes. Ekhanto, please if you are out there.... please hear me and answer me.... please.

Nothing happened.....

But when I thought that that was the end....

"Oh my Goddess, look." The shocked gasp of the woman had me snapping my eyes open to look at them. All three of them were staring aghast at the ground, even Cerulean seemed shocked too. I, too, stared down at the grasses and my own gasp of surprise left me. There were green light moving through the grasses and towards all of us. It sunk into his skin and travelled towards the injury. It shone a bright green as the huge gash began to rapidly heal and close up. There were uncomfortable groans of pain leaving his lips and his eyes was shut as his wounds completely healed to leave a big red angry scar on his abdomen. I looked at the others wondering if they knew what was happening to see that their own cuts and bruises were being healed too. When their wounds had been all healed the grasses around us turned to a grey and black colour wilting away. At the sight of them my heart constricted in pain. I frowned at the feeling and gripped my chest as waves of emotions filled me ranging from intense grief to despair and sadness. It overrode my senses thumping with my heart and drawing a silent choked sob from my lips. I sat back and hunched over trying to calm my racing heart.

"You feel it don't you?" Cerulean's voice said in my head "the pain stricken grief.....like you lost a loved one....it is normal for people with connection to the green. You can feel their pain, feel their loss....it is painful I know. I will help you"

Cerulean walked up behind me and leaned closer to me. I immediately leaned into his legs looking for any sense of comfort and I found it with him, relief flooding my veins." Breathe Lexi, breathe." I obeyed, taking in a deep breath and feeling my thumping heart steady at its normal rhythmic pace." Are you alright?"

I nodded quietly, feeling the pain slipping away finally and watching as the man sat up with his eyes open in shock. They all looked down at his abdomen and he even went by far to press down on the flesh. He caressed the angry red scar on his abdomen with slight discomfort before shaking his head in amazement.

"Mother I'm --" the man began to say, but he was cut shut by his family flinging their arms around him and tackling him to the ground with bear hugs." Mother you're -"

"Ni.... ni hi alun fun zu'u wa stop again. Hi hon zu'u kul? Hi mindok zu'u nis sizaan hi. Hi

mindok mu ni." She said in that strange language again, sobbing on his chest, shoulders trembling violently." Tell me you're sorry! Tell me that you will never ever say that again!"

The man smiled and pressed a kiss to her forehead before pulling her away to stare deep into her brown eyes." Okay mother, I'm sorry and I will never say that again." He looked back at his siblings who were shedding tears and ruffled their heads with affection." I promise."

"Don't ever leave us big brother." The little boy sniffed, his nose red with snot slipping from his nostrils.

The man laughed." I won't, now clean your tears, you're a man aren't you? A man isn't supposed to cry, well except when you are dying, like I was." The man said as his little brother cleaned his tears angrily with the long sleeves of his cotton tunic. I smiled at this, feeling my heart ache at the beautiful display of family affection. Something I had always wanted for myself, a chance of love from my own family, just like those time before I found out my sexuality. But who was I to wish for such an impossibility, I could never go back and even if I did...they would never truly accept me as a son again.

All I had now was Cerulean, and he was all I needed. He cared for me and watched out for me. It was all I wanted, and even if Clarke was there for me all those years... somehow it was never enough. I had always thought that my burdens were heavy on him, and now that I'm gone he can live without any worries for me.

My attention snapped back to the family when I heard the man say something but didn't quite get it." I'm sorry, what did you say?" I asked carefully, getting back on my knees.

"I said thank you." The man said again, a slight local British accent flowing smoothly with his words almost making me swoon. Him looking at me fully with no expression of pain, sadness and discomfort, I found that he was quite handsome. His hair was a dark brown and was long enough to go a little past his collar bone. He tied it up in a half ponytail bun with small short and tiny bangs falling messily over his face. His skin was somewhat tan and his dark hazel eyes shone with determination. He had some dark bangs under his eyes that only added on to his handsome dark look and a couple of tiny freckles dusted across this nose and cheeks. He was really good looking." Thank you so much for saving my life. I do not know how to repay you."

"Saving your life?" I asked genuinely confused. I cocked my head to the side in wonder, staring at them as his mother looked at me in perplex."I'm sorry I don't know what you mean."

" What do you mean you do not know what he meant." The mother said, her British accent noticeable now. Other than her son's raw beauty she looked pretty and quite young if I may say. The man seemed to have her thick dark brown hair but her eyes were a lighter shade of brown not like her other children that looked so much like twins. Her skin was pale and smooth too." You clearly have the undeniable connection to the green, you must have asked for their power and the connected with you to give off their life force so yes in other words you saved my son, and we are indeed grateful."

I turned to Cerulean in wonder and he nodded in confirmation. I was going to have to learn more about this... connection with the greens soon, there were so much to learn." You are welcome, and no please you don't have to repay me. You all being safe is enough compensation for me." I said to them with a small smile.

"No it is not. At least not for us." The woman insisted and reached for the small brown pouch that was tied at her waisted and peered inside. Her face turned sullen and I could only imagine what was left inside." Um I-I-I don't have much...there is only about 40 bronze crowns and 10 silver crowns in here I hope that this will be--"

"I said you don't need to compensate me ma'am." I interjected placing my hand on hers and pushing the pouch of money to her chest." Keep it. Money isn't what I want. I only want you to be well."

I could see the tears begin to well up in her eyes at my words, even the man was dumbfounded by it." Miss...we can't let your good deed go unrewarded. You must be repayed or else this family will have no rest of mind." He said to me.

I turned to him with a smile on my lips and shook my head in disagreement." There is nothing I want, apart from your good health. I don't want money I only want..." A family? Your love?" A friend, really."

"Friend?" He cocked his head to the side in question.

I nodded sadly." You see, I'm just a lonely traveller, I don't really know anyone around this parts and it's actually completely lonely. I don't know this country much and I'm kind of lost, if you know what I mean."

"Well, I'm glad we crossed path now. If you don't have anywhere to go darling you are welcome into our humble abode. We will love to receive you." The woman said with a grateful smile bringing her hand to her chest as if she was saying an oath.

"Really?" My ears perked up and twitched as hope swelled in my chest. Taverns still haunted me and I didn't know if inns were no different. It would be nice to sleep through a whole night without having an eye being open or an ear being on alert incase of danger. It would be nice to settle away from my emotional turmoil for a while, even if it was just for twelve hours.

"Yes please." The little girl suddenly blurted out, brown eyes wide and cheeks redding. Everyone turned to look at her cute baby face and I couldn't just resist." I mean you saved us and you have no where to go yet...we would be glad to have you in our home..... ma'am."

I smiled at her and reached out to pat her on her head. Staring down at her hopeful eyes I figured that they would probably feel dejected if I were to decline their offer. Other than that concept I needed to know more about Tundran. I needed to know my lefts and rights, I needed to know who and what to watch out for, I needed to be vigilant and they could provide me with the information and knowledge that I was looking for." Okay, then. Thank you, I-we would be glad to take you up on your offer." I agreed sparing Cerulean a glance. I had not failed to notice his silence during the whole conversation and I feared that he did not like my interaction. But there was this look of relief and calmness in his eyes that said he agreed with whatever I did.

"Perfect," the woman said with a relieved smile." Our town is not too far from here but it's best we get going, they aren't only two of those Spicetae-lacertae you know."

"Okay, thank you ma'am." I said with a smile getting up on my feet and dusting the dirt and grass off my trousers.

"Call me, Eydis dear." She returned my smile and went on to help her son to his feet. He gave a groan of discontent and displeasure and he gripped his abdomen where the scar lay." Are you alright Seb?"

"I'll manage." He grunted in frustration shifting his feet weakly.

"What's wrong with him?" I asked.

"It the fatigue and discomfort caused by the the aftereffects of healing." Eydis explained." Healing only does much but not enough to stop the feeling of weakness and discomfort and numbness one feels after, there are potions for that but we have none. He'll be okay, but it would be much more slower to reach Lockheed."

I nodded at her explanation and looked at Cerulean." Do you mind? Little cat?" I asked him, pouting pleadingly.

He rolled his eyes." Of course. You wish is my command isn't it?" He said and bent down in the grass. He looked at the man and the two children who looked so much like twins." On my back children, I'll carry you."

"Thank you, so much, miss." Eydis beamed helping her children onto the back of Cerulean who seemed to have no problems with the added weight.

"I have never seen a lightening cat before, nor have I ever dreamed to ride one." The man said in awe as he gripped Cerulean's fur so tight that i feared he must have felt it, but he didn't." They are extremely rare and powerful. They can only be found on the Isle of Sekcar, it is so much of a waste land that people who take up the challenge to travel there sometimes never come back. How did you obtain such a creature." He asked as we traveled onwards, Eydis walking beside me.

"I...." I frowned not knowing what to tell them." I don't know."

"What do you mean you don't know." This time it was the little brother that spoke. He snapped his head towards my direction and gave me a puzzled glance.

I shrugged nonchalantly not wishing to go over this again." What I mean is what I mean. I don't know. It was only yesterday that I woke up alone in Eion forest with my familia and with no memory of my past life, people say it's amnesia."

Everyone minus Cerulean, snapped their heads to my direction in so much shock it felt almost comical." Are you serious? You don't remember anything at all?" Eydis asked.

I shook my head." No,I can only remember my name and age and my daemon's name. I only recently learned how to harness my lightening magic this morning and give it a form."

"Just this morning, and you were that powered!" The twins simultaneously chorused loudly looking down at me in awe..

I smirked feeling proud of myself." Apparently."

"That's amazing, miss." The man said with a slight chuckle." Really amazing, I could only imagine how much your mana must be to harness such power."

"Poor you, not remembering anything about your past, you must feel devastated." Eydis said sadly lacing her fingers with mine.

"Um, yes I did feel devastated, but I've accepted that fact now and chose to live with it and pray to the goddess that I get my memories back." I murmured looking down at our intertwined hands.

"Well, we are glad we found you." The man smiled to himself before something clicked and his eyes opened a little fraction wide, he looked down at me in apology." Oh, I'm so sorry I believe we haven't told you our names yet. My name is Sebastien. Sebastien Broywne. These are my siblings, Arya and Arry Broywne. They are twins. You already know my mother's name. Eydis Broywne. It's a pleasure to meet you."

" My name is Kylexsis Dakota and my daemon's name is Cerulean. It is a great pleasure to meet you all too." I introduced myself and Cerulean proudly.

" Kylexsis? That a very unusual name, I don't think I have ever heard that before." Sebastien frowned at this, eyes staring ahead in wonder. Sebastien, hmmmm, it fit him so. He shrugged eventually." But yet again, you yourself is very unusual. Halfbreeds hardly ever come to Astrydye especially around this parts. Your kind is very rare and a bit feared by most people. They say that you all are cunning, manipulative and dangerous. You don't look cunning, manipulative and dangerous to me. If it's anything, you seem very gentle and generous."

"Well I'm glad you think so, and I'm glad you all are not scared of me too." I smiled up at Sebastien's face.

"But I am afraid that you stick out too much darling Kylexsis." Eydis informed frowning worriedly at me.

"What do you mean?" I asked looking at her.

"It's pretty obvious isn't it?" Arya said making me turn to look at her." The shade of your hair and eyes are extremely rare in Astrydye and all Realms."

"Really?" I asked in disbelief. Black hair was the most common colour of hair to have back on earth, although green wasn't so common gold or amber was much more rare.

"Yes, really." Eydis added feeling a lock of my soft black hair." It's rare enough to have the two most rare colours but a halfbreed having it is something else. I'd warn you not to draw so much attention. It isn't safe."

I nodded at yet another warning. First Coco and Jupiter now Eydis? What exactly was the main deal with halfbreeds anyway.

"You should probably put your hood up when we reach the town." Eydis advised pulling the hood of my hoodie over my head for me." You wearing trousers and covered in blood is enough to draw lots of attention, I don't think you would want them to know it was a halfbreed wearing trousers and covered in blood."

" Thank you" I said with a hearty smile taking a deep breath as I finally spotted the gate to the town of Lockheed far away. I was glad that they didn't bother prying and asking where exactly the blood came from.

<---------------------------------------<<

It was almost dark by the time we had reached the gates of Lockheed. The town was protected with a low stone wall with thickness not quite enough to protect against huge monsters like the Spicetae-lacertae. The gate was wooden and beaten and two leather clad men with swords hitched high on their waist were stationed outside for evening watch. It all looked so comical. Two days ago I was walking the dark streets of Germany feeling the cold but here I am, walking the field of .....of God knows whatever realm this was!

"At Marybelle avenue, here's a silver coin for entry." Eydis said to one of the men placing a silver coin in his palm and greeting him with a large smile. He nodded and caught my gaze, his eyes widening just a fraction at the sight of my green eyes and strands of black hair that fell on my face. Eydis and Sebastien were right, my sight is something rare. Before the guard could say anything Eydis stood in his line of bison blocking me." We will like to enter now."

He turned to her and gave a small nod. Taking one last glance at me, he pulled open the gate and let us enter. I didn't miss the shocked gaze as he stared at the almost collosal form of Cerulean." Holy Tundra, that's a-"

I blocked out his words as we made our way past the gate and into the town. It was small and crowded with so much people that I could drown in them, which also served as a good thing because if I were to put my head down I would be practically invincible. But there was Cerulean, he was too huge to hide and then there was the fact that he was being rode by three people. There were dozens of gaping stares of shock and question of why a rare blue lightening cat was in a small town of Lockheed. They must probably be thinking of were the master of it was. Eydis and Sebastien didn't seem the least fazed or worried though, and that was enough for me to relax without my own pressure.

The buildings were made of wood and stone. Some stood tall some lower to the ground. They were arranged in a narrow path at each sides, caked together and giving way for the cobblestone pavement of the street for people to pass on. Horses and carts with its riders passed by, and women in different colours of frolics purchased goods from the wooden stalls of provisions and glittering trinkets. I tried to keep my head down and avoid the stares that were already pointed to Cerulean and my slightly blood covered clothes as we walked on. Eydis led us to a small dark corner that led towards a cottage with a small green garden of flowers surrounding it. It was beautiful and just completely medieval.

"Is this your house?" I asked Eydis as we walked right up to the front door.

"Yes, my husband used to be the mayor this was a gift in the job description." She answered with a small smile before pushing the metal key into the hole and turning it with a click. She pushed the door open and ushered her children inside when they had climbed off Cerulean.

"Wait, what about Cerulean?" I asked from the door staring at his huge body and wondering if he could fit through the door, or if they had any room that could accommodate his size. I cocked my head to the side, this wasn't going to work." Cerulean, I don't think you can fit through and I don't want you to stay outside." I turned to Eydis." Do you have a barn or something?"

"Don't worry, Lexi, I'll go neutral form" Cerulean shaking his head and staring ahead before saying."Reboot." He said. I watched in awe as his body shrunk to a smaller cuter baby sabertooth tiger. That little cat.

I rose a brow at him and he smiled back at me.

"Come in, come in." Eydis said pulling me inside the house and closing the door behind Cerulean.

The inside was completely in wood. The right was the living room that consisted of a few single chairs that faced a hearth. The left was the kitchen. It had two barrels of grain and a hearth for cooking with black iron pots hanging on irons over the coal. There was a short table of six with wooden cups and jugs settled on it, buckets of water and cupboard of utensils and stuffs. Despite the house being on the ancient side it looked spotless and had a strange smell of nutmeg. It felt pretty homey. Ahead was a staircase that led up to the rooms.

"You have a nice home, Eydis." I complimented truthfully. I mean it was nice, for their age.

"Thank you dear." Eydis smiled, placing her palm on the small of my back." Sebastien, get the water boiling for a medicinal broth, Arya help cut the vegetables I'll be making veggie broth and bread for strength tonight. Arry, you can help start the fire in the living room hearth, I'll go help Kylexsis here settle down."

Everyone nodded without a word and scattered to do their task. I let Eydis lead me up the creaky but sturdy stairs and into a short hallway with two doors at each side and one at the end of the hallway. She led me towards the door at the end of the hallway and opened it up to reveal a small pristine gravel pool of steaming hot water. There was a stool that stood in front of a mirror and stones for scrubbing beside black soaps, basins of water stood just beside it. There was a wooden rack of towels at the window and a table that held a dozens of hairbrush and a container.

"This is our washroom." Eydis explained stepping inside and pointing to the pool" The water in this pool contains my special hand made medicine that helps with body aches and migraines, it also sometimes give sheen to the the skin. Have a nice bath and leave your clothes outside and I will wash them for you. I will bring them back after I have dried them and place it in front of the door for you, okay?"

I nodded silently, the smell of herbs filling my nostrils as Cerulean and I walked into the room.

" Take as long as you need, and enjoy your bath. Dinner will be ready soon." She said and walked out of the door, closing it behind her." I'm waiting for the clothes."

I nodded to my self and began to peel of the clothes one by one after dropping my bag at the wall besides the door. It wasn't until I had reached the tank top did I realized that Cerulean was right there! Staring at me! I gave him a scowl." Well don't look!"

"Why? What have you got to hide?" He cocked a cocky brow and gave me a teasing smile.

I scoffed throwing my bloody hoodie on his face." Why, you ask? I'm self-conscious and plus it isn't good to see a woman's nakedness." I tried not to raise my voice at him.

"Kylexsis I am your daemon, I can't do shit in cat form. If you are worried about me looking at your body it isn't an uncommon thing. It's normal for a daemon and its master to bathe together or even share sexual relations

Think of me as a part of you, I know you don't feel shy, it's just your humane conscious." Cerulean said with a smile that almost covered his eyes. He was right in many ways, I didn't feel shy in front of him, I just felt weird that something like this was even possible in happening. I gave up after five seconds and threw my tank top off and removed my downs. Cerulean didn't go as far as to study my nakedness and I was grateful for that, he had his boundaries. I opened the door and handed the clothes to Eydis with a thank you before making my way towards the stairs of the pool.

The moment the water touch my skin I felt like I had just felt a fraction of heaven. The hot water opened up my pores and warmed me to my bones." Ahhh" I moaned and dive head full into the water to heal the migraine that had formed at the back of my eyes. Cerulean was at the top of the stairs waiting for me as I resurfaced and wiped the water from my eyes.

"How's the water?" He asked dipping a paw into the hot water.

I shrugged." Comfortable, you should try it."

"I know, but I'm going to have to ask you to bathe me. I'm all paws and no fingers." He said showing me his paws to prove his point..

I nodded." Come then, let's scrub up." I announced moving to get out of the pool and take him in my arms. I sat him on the stool in front of the mirror and sat behind him on the floor so I could scrub him in front of the mirror. I grabbed a cup and scooped up water from the basin of cold water to the left and poured it over his head. He shivered a bit and I grabbed the black soap to latter his fur. He lathered and in no time his fur was covered in foam. I scrubbed him with my hands and grabbed one of the brushes from the table to comb through his fur. That seemed to be his favourite part of bathing for he didn't bother hiding the purrs of delight as I combed gently. After, I grabbed the soap again to latter my skin and scrub hard and thorough with the stone. I rinsed Cerulean's fur thoroughly and myself too before sparing myself a long look at the mirror. I really was a girl now, the concept although it scared me it excited me. Complimentary smooth supple skin, perfectly sized round bosoms, a slim waist that really brought out my figure with straight long legs and a flat stomach. In a way I liked it, being on the feminine side of the species, and I sure would want to explore. And let's not go into the detail of the type of reproductive organs I now have.

I turned away and walked into the tub again with Cerulean, determined to spend at least a few long minutes to relax my aching muscles. Cerulean stayed at the third step of the pool allowing the water to reach just a little bit above his bust. The steam of the water and the smell of the natural herbs helped to ease the migraine. By the time my skins had almost turned to prunes, I decided to get out and get dressed, hopefully Eydis had finished washing and drying my clothes.

And she had. I found them neatly folded in a pile in front of the door ready for it to be taken by me. Feeling as though I didn't need to wear the triple layer, I settled for the black long sleeve that now ran down my thighs due to how small my body was and one of the jeans. I put the rest into my bag, dried Cerulean up as best as I could with one of the towels, braided my hair and walked downstairs for dinner.

A pleasant aroma of freshly cooked vegetables and a clean slightly sweet yeasty smell permeated my nostrils. It was delightful and my stomach grumbled in compliance. The faint chuckle of Cerulean had me blushing in embarrassment. Everyone was situated in the kitchen, busy with setting the table for dinner and talking repeatedly. I also realized that there were daemon's present helping out too. There were two weird looking weasels. One was white in colour with small buffalo curved horns on its head, long sharp canines that ran down to its small jaw, it had two short tails and one long tail each with lines of black fur, the head had a line of black fur that travelled down its back to its tail, the eyes were a dark brown colour and some of the furs on the legs and neck were black.

The second weasels was green in colour, probably because some of the furs were leaves instead. The furs at the neck was cream in colour, there was a bit of red leaves and white furs too.

The third daemon was a green man. He was as small as baby Groot with green eyes and a leafy green body.

I stood there with Cerulean in my hands watching quietly as they chatted and bickered continuously. I didn't know whether to announce my arrival or just to stay still. I was going to stand there contemplating on talking or just standing there like a creep until Sebastien finally noticed me." Kylexsis." He breathed out and at that moment everyone stopped moving and all seven pair of eyes turned to stare at me simultaneously almost making me cringe.

The white weasel gasped, dropping the plate of berries like it was something bad in it, dark brown eyes wide as it stared at me." You're Kylexsis River Dakota!" It squealed, it's voice feminine and British." Oh my God she is beautiful!"

"Look at her hair-" The green one mused walking closer to the edge of the table in amazement, voice masculine and also British.

"Look at her eyes, beautiful if I might add!" The green man commented eyes twinkling. He was also British.

The female weasels rolled her eyes." You think every green eyes are pretty."

"Oh, please, like you don't go crazy over white fur." The green man snorted, mouth drawing into a sneer as he crossed his hands.

"Apologies for not being able to greet you at the front door. We didn't know that we were having visitors and we were all at the backyard helping to plant the new vegetable seeds." The male weasel said to me with an apologetic smile.

"You mean I was helping to plant the vegetables while you and your twin were busy eating up all the whole Frost Pepper!" The green man complained with a raise of its leafy brow.

"That a lie!" The green weasel shot back with a cute pout." We only ate twelve Frost Peppers!"

"Oh you two are always -" the green man began to argue.

"And your that stupid -" the white weasel added.

"You can even plant for a green man who-" the green weasel added again and soon the dinning was a pandemonium of three voices continuously bickering like there was no tomorrow. A small amused grin crossed my lips as I stared at Nicky Ricky and Dawn get at each other, too bad there wasn't a Dicky. Sebastien looked kind of pissed off at them, his mouth was set in a thin line and his arms crossed around his broad chest. The twins were staring worriedly at the three of them while Eydis rolled her eyes and shook her head like she had seen this a thousand times. The argument turned into a physical fight, voices much more animated, but Eydis, Arry and Arya jumped in right on time to pull them apart.

"Taro, stop this, you'll spoil dinner," Eydis scolded with a distasteful sneer on her lips.

"No let me go-" the green man protested struggling against Eydis hold.

"I'll cut your broccolis from your armpits with my horn you piece of Celery!" the white weasel screamed, tiny paws tight around Arry's wrist.

"Azolla, stop swearing!" Arry said with a silent wince.

"I'm not an edible green you horned meat, go talk to your brother like that!" The green man screamed back green eyes glowing with annoyance.

" Taro stop it, mother tell -" Arya began to complain, her lips in that adorable pout.

"My red leaves should stay out of this you vegetable-" the green weasel began to spit out until a voice called, followed by a flap of wings.

"Decorum, children!" It ordered, tone deep and matching almost to Sebastien's. The three daemon's immediately froze in their movements as the flaps grew closer. Soon, a big black crow flew into the kitchen and landed smoothly on Sebastien shoulder. It's feathers were so silky it seemed that water could never go through, it was bigger than Sebastien's head and it held an aura of authority and coordination around it. Something that matched Sebastien, and that unmistakably matching hazel orbs told the obvious about him being Sebastien's daemon.

"Magna, what a lovely early visit." The green weasel chripped innocently, with a smile.

"Yes, what are you doing here? I thought you usually came back quite late during sleep hour!" The green man chuckled nervously, sinking his back in between Eydis bosoms.

"The intense amount of frustration and annoyance I felt from Master Sebastien had me coming back in an instant." The voice was of course British, but calm yet deep." Knowing what kind of thing that can trigger said emotions I flew back to break it off before my master burned down your heads like last time."

The female weasels rolled her eyes and released herself from Arry's grasp." Taro started it." She declared point at the green man.

The green man gasped clutching his chest." No i did no-"

"I do not care who did or didn't start up this petty arguments." The crow, Magna cut him off sharply, green eyes looked at the three dangerously." The fact that you three can't behave accordingly for one minute without your interactions morphing into a fully fledged arguement is extremely childish. You are all fools sometimes!"

The three gasped overdramatically

" And the fact that you do so in front of our guests is worse." He finalized before turning those hazel orbs towards my direction." Apologies for having to experience that, Miss Kylexsis. Those three can be very childish sometimes."

I smiled and shook my head." No, it's all right. If it was anything it was quite entertaining, it helped keep my mind off dire stuffs for a moment."

He gave a curt nod." I'm glad you think so. I am Magna, Master Sebastien daemon. The green man is Taro, Mrs Eydis daemon, the white weasel is Azolla, Young Arry's daemon and lastly the green weasel is Clovert. Young Arya's daemon. It is a great pleasure to meet you."

"Same here." I nodded and pointed to Cerulean." This is my daemon, Cerulean."

"It's a pleasure to finally meet fellow daemons." Cerulean said professionally with a curt nod.

"Again Miss, we apologize for all of this. Those three get along one minute and the next they argue and chase each other around like cat and mice." Sebastien smiled gently at me, itching his nape slowly.

I shook my head." It's alright, I told you, it was sort of fun to watch. And please don't call me miss, Lexi is just fine."

"Lexi" Clovert mused itching his chin with one of his short claws." I like it!"

"Come now.... Lexi, have a sit and eat up." Eydis said ushering me and everyone else to the dinning table for dinner. I watched as she dishes out some broth for me and everyone else including their daemons. Except for Magna....and we'll Taro.

"Taro, Magna you both aren't hungry?" I asked them bringing the spoon under my nose secretly to get more of that aroma of the veggie broth.

"I'm a green man, miss, I really only need plant food, manure and water." Taro shrugged with a smile, green eyes twinkling deeply.

" You should smell him when he's had a taste of manure!" Azolla snorted looking up from her bowl of broth. Her small pink tongue locked the whole upper lips. She fixated her brown eyes on Taro." He smells like a walking unattended horse barn."

"Do you always have to-" Taro began.

"Decorum!" Magna declared and the two went silent." Don't restart this over dinner." He turned to me." I don't need to eat as much. Master's satisfaction is enough to fill me, although I will have to eat, I prefer a type of feed that my beak can grab on to."

I frowned, looking down at my untouched broth to finally realise that he really couldn't grab the liquid with his beak. I flushed in embarrassment putting on a shy smile." Sorry, I forgot."

"Anyway, does Cerulean eat the broth." Eydis commented from the pot, a plate in hand and a spoon in the other.

I stared down at Cerulean who had curled up into a ball at one leg of the chair that I was sitting on. He rose his furry head, green eyes meeting with mine. I gestured my head towards Eydis direction with questioning eyes as my fingers drummed silently in the table. He sat up and gave a nod for approval." Sure, he'll have some." I told her with a smile.

She nodded without a word and dished out the broth for him. And then everyone went silent, save for the tiny clinks of spoon on metal plate and slurping of hot broth and the chewing of the hard tasteless and horrible bread. I wondered if all the bread were really this way, the vegetable broth was good made indicating just how nice a cook Eydis was.....or who ever it was that made the food.

I found myself silently enjoying it and trying not to gobble it up like a hungry madman. I still had manners mind you.

"So, Kylexsis....." Arry began to say with an excited smile on his face as he wriggled in his seat." So you figured if you have any other abilities? You are a halfbreed and most of them can control every magic on the spectrum. Are you one of those people! Can you control all the elements!"

"I...uh...well...I don't -" I stuttered my mind reeling. I didn't know whether I should tell them everything. I didn't know whether I could. Both Cerulean and Ekhanto told me to mind who I trust, which begged the question, could I consider trusting them? Or should I keep to myself till I die.

"You don't know?" Arry finished for me before I could even say anything else. He excitement seemed to have turned up more because his face was bright and beaming." Seb can help you find your abilities with the magyk stones tomorrow. Oh, would you be-"

"Tundra, bombard her brain with questions boy!" Eydis scolded banging the table lightly to shut him up." The girl just woke up and lost her memory and saved us from the Spicetae-lacertae show some patience and let her have her dinner first."

Oh, Ekhanto bless her soul.

"Or at least start easy." She added." One at a time."

"Sorry." He murmured sulking stirring his broth.

"How did you get the blood on your clothes, it was really hard to wash out." Arya chimed in.

"That's just worse, Arya, Tundra. " Sebastien snapped with annoyed eyes before turning to stare at me." Sorry about that, the twins are quite as intruding as their daemon sometimes."

Arry gasped dramatically placing a hand on his chest." We are not!"

Sebastien just rolled his eyes. " But Arry's right, I could help you find out your abilities with the magyk stones tomorrow. I have all of them. That is if you'll stay long enough for that before you leave"

I nodded." Great. That would be great."

"Dandy!" Eydis chipped happily." We would love to have you for as long as you want."

"Really?" I asked again, not wanting to overstay my welcome. I didn't want them to feel so obliged to attend to my every need just because I saved them. I wanted to know if they really wanted this for themselves, feeding two extra mouths and providing shelter. If I was going to stay here, I decided that I was going to do a lot more to help in the day to day activities. However, the violent happy bobbing of their heads told me just how grateful it would be if I stayed here. Plus it would be good too, I needed to find my bearings before moving on." Well, I don't really know much about Tundran anymore like I used to when I had a memory. I don't know anywhere or anything really, so maybe I could stay here for a while longer, find my bearings and learn more from you all during my stay, yeah?"

"That will be wonderful dear." Eydis concluded for me, and then everyone went back to eating in silence.

Later that night after dinner, I said goodnight to everyone as Sebastien led me to the visitors room in the halls. It wasn't grandeur or anything, the floors were wooden and perfectly polished, the bed was also wooden with red sheets and pillows, the curtain had a red and gold abstract pattern swirling around and giving the room a nice colour, there was a desk with writing materials and parchment neatly laid out, two trunks at the far corner to keep my belongings and a night table with a single candle.

I sat on my bed and stared out into the night. Their house faced the end of the gate were nothing but acres and acres of land rolled like eternity. The blue moon shining brightly to cast shadows of tall grasses and trees. Everyone one was asleep, along with the town, the silence was peaceful and calming and I was safe with a roof over my head and a hearty meal in my stomach. I was glad.

But there were so many naggings in my mind. I resisted the temptation to call on Ekhanto now that I was alone with Cerulean. I didn't know what to do now.

"Do you think this was wise." I asked Cerulean, in the darkness of the room." Trusting them."

"I trust you." He said, green eyes still staring out the window." So I trust them. That's all."

"But what if I'm wrong. What if I'm wrong and what happened last time happens again." I turned to look at him, trying to push the tears away from my eyes." I don't think I can survive this mission if I lose you. I've been alone all this while and now I can't lose you."

Cerulean didn't say anything. He just stared right into my eyes, right into my soul. But those hazy eyes told me so many things. He didn't want to lose me too, and I was glad that we had each other.

He shook his head and crawled closer to me." Sleep Kylexsis, we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow."

"But-" I begun watching as he crawled into a ball beside me.

"No buts Lexi. You've gone through enough today. Save the worries for tomorrow, okay?" He said." Now go to sleep before I make you."

I smiled at him and shook my head in disbelief but went to sleep anyway. He was right, I should save the worries for tomorrow because the moment my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep.
