2 Chapter 2: The Test

The next morning…

*Yawn*... Attie woke up from his sleep. Even though the last part of yesterday's dream was bad, he still liked it and wanted to be that strong.

'I will surely become a strong person.' He thought.

He then got up from the bed and went downstairs to see his mother.

"Good morning mom," He said to which his mother replied, "Good morning, Attie"

"How was your sleep?"

"It was fine"

"Mom, when do we have to be present for the test?" He asked curiously.

"We have 3 more hours for the test to start" His mother replied. She knew that her son was excited.

Deep inside she was thinking- ' I hope he gets an elemental affinity.

"Oh! Then I have to be ready." He went to his room to bathe and change his clothes.

"Children these days…" Kuromi (Mom) sighed.

Two and a half hour has passed…

"Mom, how much time are you taking to be ready? We are going to be late for the test. What happens if they didn't allow me to attend it because of being late? Please come fast" Atesh's voice rang in the house.

"Don't worry young man. I am almost ready. We will leave shortly. Just give me five minutes to tie my hair." She then tied her hair in a ponytail.

"Now I am ready! Come let's go…"

"Hmph!" Snorted Attie.

The duo reached the city center within fifteen minutes. They were just in time for the test. The test was taking place in a large building that was just in front of them. There could be seen a large number of parents who had come together with their children to check what affinity they may have.

"All the people who are participating please enter along with their guardian" A voice of a middle-aged man rang out.

All the people rushed to enter the area of the test.

Six people were sitting in different chairs. Five of them were the representatives of their respective Universities and one was the person who conducts the test. The representative of Lunar academy was a beautiful woman named Nina. The representative of the Royal Academy was a middle-aged man named Boston. The representative of Alolan university was a lovely woman who looked in her mid-20s named Alice. The representative of Lightning academy was a man who looked in his mid-40s and had yellow-colored hair. His name was Konrad. Lastly, the representative of Mana academy was a woman who has green hair. From her looks, it was sure that she had a nature affinity. Her name was Lyrica. The person who was conducting the test was a man who looked in his late 40s. Even though he looks like this no one can undermine him from the pressure he gave. Even though he is suppressing it.

( AN: Pressure means when a person has more mana and is stronger than the opposite person, his aura can make a person feel pressured. Even though it can be controlled, it will still leak out when a person is too strong than the others present there.)

"We are starting the test," said the person conducting the test.

"Rale, come to the stage and put your hand on the ball placed there," said the man.

A person named Rale walked from the crowd and put his hand on the ball. He felt something going inside his body and then he felt as if it has been out. He then pulled his hand away.

"Rale, Magic Affinity to Water. Rank Yellow." Exclaimed the man.

Rale couldn't hide his happiness he went to his mother with a smile hung on his face.

"Next, Elisa come to the stage"

Elisa also put her hand on the ball and removed it after some time.

"Elisa's magic affinity to Fire and Nature. Rank Blue and Green respectively.

"She has a dual affinity". All the people exclaimed in shock. Even Attie who was seeing all these was jealous of her.

"Next…."

So many other people were called that there were no more dual affinity-having persons.

But…

"Derek's magic affinity to Darkness. Rank Purple." Said the man in an excited voice.

After hearing this all the Universities wanted to keep him for themselves. By they refrained as there were a lot of people watching it. If they act on impulse, they may lose face with the public. But all of them took note of Derek.

After some time, it was finally Attie's turn.

"Atesh, come to the stage"

*Huff* he exhaled a mouthful of air and went to the stage in an excited as well as nervous manner.

Due to being nervous and not having his mind in the right place, he tripped on the stairs and fell.

"Hahahaha" all laughed.

But he didn't mind. He got up and went to test.

"Put your hand on the ball kept there," said the man.

Attie then went to the ball and looked at it in a daze. After looking at it for a minute, he put his hand on it.

Irrecognisable energy entered his body and returned to the ball. He then pulled his hand off it.

The person who was conducting the test let looked at the ball and his expression changed.

"Please put your hand one more time," he said.

All the people were confused.

Attie once again kept the hand on the ball and the same process happened again.

"....." The conductor ( he who conducts the test) was in deep thought. Everyone looked at him to announce the result.

After some time he announced.

"Atesh magic affinity...…none..."

There was silence in the whole place. Everyone thought they had heard it wrong. Attie was dumbstruck. He felt that he was imagining things.

After seeing the looks of people the conductor once again announced the result.

"Atesh, magic affinity none"

After hearing this, all people looked at Attie in pity. They believed that he would never awaken magic and die as a mortal. There were also small laughs heard which were from the 'so-called friends of Attie.

Attie was too surprised for his mind to work. When he came back to his right mind, he began to cry and went to his mother and hugged her.

She consolidated him. He cried for a long time and all the people looked at him in pity.

Suddenly, he fell unconscious. On seeing this his mother was surprised. She didn't know what to do.

But the representative of Mana academy who had a natural affinity came to check on him.

She used a spell to check him and found out that there was nothing wrong.

"He will wake up in a few hours." She said.

Kuromi nodded and carried Attie back home and laid him on the bed.

No one knows that Attie was going to be never the same when he wakes up.
