Ch.67

Milotic immediately used Rain Dance and Aqua Ring, to keep them active. While Toxicroak used Sword Dance and Nasty Plot, to raise both types of Attack Stats. Then Milotic used Water Pulse, sending it flying toward Toxicroak. 

However, Toxicroak jumped over the Water Pulse just dodging the attack and then charging toward Milotic. Toxicroak then used Poison Jab quickly striking out toward Milotic, who tried to dodge but wasn't quick enough. Milotic then used Aqua Tail, though, once again Toxicroak jumped over the swing dodging the strike and jumping back. 

Toxicroak then used Toxic sending a small wave of Poison at Milotic who used Water Gun to keep the poison back. Toxicroak used that moment to jump over the two movies colliding and landing behind Milotic. Toxicroak then struck Milotic with another Poison Jab from behind making Milotic cry out in pain as the move looked like a critical hit. 

Toxicroak jumped back as Milotic swung her tail again at him missing him once again. This time, however, Milotic was poisoned, slowly draining her even with her Aqua Ring up. Toxicroak's poison was one of the stronger types of poison, strong enough to damage Milotic with Aqua Ring still. 

Milotic then used Surf sending a huge wave in all directions. Toxicroak quickly used Dig and disappeared under the ground, even collapsing the entrance so the water wouldn't reach him. Then Toxicroak jumped out of the ground behind Milotic and struck her once again. 

Milotic was looking worse for ware, however, this time she was able to land her Aqua Tail on Toxicroak. Toxicroak was thrown back a few feet before catching him and landing on his feet, though his one arm was now bruised from blocking the attack. Toxicroak then charged Milotic once again, who was now looking very tired. 

Toxicroak used Venoshock as he closed the distance, sending out a small ball of poison flying toward Milotic. Milotic used Aqua Tail, but Toxicroak didn't completely close the distance, making her move useless and his move striking Milotic who cried out in pain before collapsing down unconscious. 

Cynthia then withdrew Milotic while looking at Palmer with an annoyed expression as she started worrying about winning this. However, she then sent out her Pokémon, Togekiss. Who appeared while looking down at Toxicroak with an annoyed expression feeding off Cynthia's emotions. 

Toxicroak used Sword Dance and Nasty Plot once again as the battle started. Togekiss uses Reflect and Light Screen before flying up out of Toxicroak's reach. Toxicroak's throat then bulges as he releases a Sludge Bomb toward Togekiss. 

Togekiss dives out of the way from the attack, then Toxicroak jumps up with a Poison Jab ready to strike Togekiss. However, Togekiss releases Air Slash as Toxicroak jumps into the air. Toxicroak manages to swing his body missing the first strike but the send sends him flying back to the ground crying out in pain. 

Togekiss then flies back up before releasing another wave of Air Slash. Toxicroak then uses a Sludge Wave which crashes with the move making an explosion occur as the two moves meet. Toxicroak uses this to Dig and disappear from the sight of Cynthia and Togekiss. 

Togekiss flies as high as she can while looking down ready to strike at a moment's notice. Then the ground breaks open Toxicroak jumps out, however, when Togekiss sends an Air Slash at Toxicroak it strikes him but makes Toxicroak disappear in a burst of smoke. Showing it was a clone of Toxicroak, as the real one appeared right below Togekiss. 

Togekiss panicked trying to move away, but Toxicroak was faster and too close. Toxicroak then grabbed Togekiss and dragged her to the ground. Toxicroak used another Sludge Bomb on the way down in Togekiss's face making her cry out in pain. While Togekiss used Aerial Ace cutting into Toxicroak with her beak. 

Toxicroak released her as he jumped off and looked in pain. His one arm now bleeding heavily. With Togekiss painting since she is now poisoned and is slowly being drained. Toxicroak then charges her, but Togekiss flies out of the way as high as she can go. 

Then before Toxicroak can use Dig again, Togekiss flies back down with a Sky Attack. Toxicroak stands his ground waiting for Togekiss to come closer. Toxicroak's throat bulged even more before releasing a huge ball of Poison at Togekiss. 

Togekiss was moving too fast for her to dodge and was struck head-on, she crashed into the ground unconscious. Cynthia then withdrew Togekiss while looking neutral, but we knew she was very worried now. While the crowd was cheering and beginning to think that the Champion title would remain Palmer's still in the end. Cynthia then sent out her last Pokémon and ace, Garchomp. 

Toxicroak once again immediately used, Sword Dance and Nasty Plot. Garchomp used Dragon Dance and Sandstorm which quickly covered the arena. Toxicroak then charged Garchomp, who remained unmoving. Just as Toxicroak was about to reach Garchomp, she used Sand Tomb, which combined with Sandstorm was very powerful. 

The sand formed together above Toxicroak before crashing down into him. Toxicroak cried out in pain, then appeared to use Dig to escape. However, Garchomp then immediately used an Earthquake shaking the whole arena. A few seconds after the Earthquake, the arena's automated machines dug out an unconscious Toxicroak. 

Now the crowd was going crazy again, Palmer was smiling a lot now. He then sends out his last Pokémon and ace of his team, Dusknoir. Now this battle will determine who the champion will be, which is why the crowd is going wild. 

Dusknoir is a primarily black Pokémon that somewhat resembles a Cyclops. Its cylindrical head is light gray with a single eye that has a yellow iris and a red pupil. Its eyelid resembles a smiling mouth, with its red eye being a tongue. There is a yellow band near the top of its head, and a short, yellow antenna with a disc-shaped tip extends from on top. Six flat projections extend from the base of its neck and surround its head, resembling an upturned collar. Dusknoir has well-developed arms with two yellow bands near its wrists and large, gray hands. On the front of its torso are two almond-shaped markings, and on its back are two circular markings. Both sets of markings resemble eyes. A yellow band encircles its body, zigzagging along the front and forming a long curve around the back. It has a wispy tail in place of feet.

Garchomp then used Sword Dance and Sandstorm once again. With Dusknoir used Calm Mind and Psych Up, which allowed them to copy Garchomp's attack stat buff. Garchomp then charged toward Dusknoir, who used Furture Sight and was slowly being buffered by the Sandstorm. 

Garchomp then snapped her jaws toward Dusknoir who quickly moved back dodging the attack. Dusknoir then swung toward Garchomp with an Ice Punch, however, Garchomp ducked under the swing dodging the strike. Garchomp once again snapped her jaws toward them. 

This time Garchomp snapped her jaws shut on Dusknoir using Crunch as Dusknoir cried out in pain. Then Dusknoir used Ice Punch again smashing into Garchomp's side making her release him and cry out in pain also. 

Dusknoir kept the attack going swinging again with another Ice Punch toward Garchomp. This time Garchomp jumped back and released a Flamethrower at Dusknoir who grunted in pain but pushed through the attack. 

Dusknoir kept swinging at Garchomp with Ice Punch after Ice Punch. While Garchomp was ducking and weaving through the attacks, only allowed to keep on the defensive. Garchomp then finally retaliated with a Shadow Claw striking the Ice Punch of Dusknoir. 

The two attacks collided before a small explosion occurred sending both Pokémon flying back a few feet. Both caught themselves, landing on the ground. The Garchomp gathered a lot of Dragon Type Engery, as Dusknoir rushed toward her. 

Dusknoir appeared to only want to use Ice Punch for now, however, as Dusknoir almost closed the distance, Garchomp released her move, Draco Meteor. A huge ball of Dragonic energy flew toward Dusknoir who was too close to dodge. The ball exploded on contact with Dusknoir and the Pokémon cried out in pain. 

Garchomp then rushed forward with another Shadow Claw, she struck Dusknoir once again as he cried out in pain. Though Dusknoir pushed past the pain strike Garchomp with another Ice Punch making her cry out in pain now. The two Pokémon then backed off while staring down one another both looking heavily injured. 

Then Dusknoir closed the distance again, but Garchomp used Endure as the next Ice Punch struck her. Garchomp looked ready to pass out but held on just barely thanks to Endure. She then bit down onto Dusknoir with another Crunch making it cry out in pain. 

Garchomp then flung Dusknoir away from her making it crash into the ground. Dusknoir then slowly pulled themselves up, the two Pokémon stared at one another both completely exhausted and ready to collapse. However, Dusknoir then fell face first as the Sandstorm buffered them again making them pass out. Everyone went silent as Palmer withdrew his last Pokémon, finally defeated. 

"Dusknoir is unable to battle! The Winners are Trainer Cynthia and Garchomp!!" the referee says shouting in excitement too as the whole crowd then starts cheering as loud as they can. 

Cynthia and Palmer shake hands while exchanging a few words. Then the governor of the region walks out and declares Cynthia the new Champion of the region. Cynthia then walks off with the two men so she can heal her team. Then she will be brought to a place where they give her, her new title. 

In the next hour, there is a small ceremony held as the governor gives Cynthia her new title publicly. The crowd cheers for her again with her family and me cheering the hardest. Cynthia is smiling while waving at the crowd and then turns to where we are especially waving at us. Once the ceremony is done, Cynthia finds us. 

"Congratulations!!" we all say running over to her and giving her a group hug, which I join in too. 

Then we all went out to celebrate her victory, that night Cynthia was very excited to celebrate with me personally. The following morning she had to head to league headquarters here so she could get her ID updated and sign a few contracts. Once she completed everything, we all headed back to her family home. 

There they held another small party for all of Cynthia's friends and neighbors she grew up with. Then that morning, Cynthia asked if we could talk and I saw she was serious. So we went outside away from everyone so we could talk privately. 

"Now that I'm the Champion of the region, I can't really travel much anymore. I will have to spend most of my time here… So…" Cynthia says and I know where she is going with this. 

"Want to buy a house together?" I say to her with a smile as she smiles at me nodding her head. We've been together now for over a year and I was planning on asking her to marry me soon anyway. 

"Yes!" Cynthia says hugging me excitedly. 

Cynthia then talks with her family about us moving in together and we are starting to house searching. Our budget was extremely high and after some searching for a few days, we bought several acres of land outside Celestic Town so we could be by her family. Then we had to wait a few months as they built our house, so we stayed with her family during that time. 

I also called my Dad and told him what happened and what we were doing. He was happy for me and we talked about my plans for asking her to marry me soon. Then once I planned on how to do it, I brought Cynthia out on a date. Which she didn't seem to expect anything out of the ordinary to happen.
