"So explain the tribe and the strong thing." I glared at my old man.
"Alright, would you prefer the long version or the short version?" He asked.
"I prefer the short one," I replied, I didn't want to fill my head with knowledge that I probably would just forget how little of an impact it had on me later on.
"Basara, even though you already know the details. You should listen as well, it's good to know more about the tribe." Jin said to Basara who was busy at the game console.
"Alright." he stopped and returned it to me.
"So basically our trip today is for you to become a part of the hero tribe. You will go on trials before officially becoming one, it should be easy with you." The Bismarck explained.
"Why? I didn't agree to this." I looked at him with disdain.
"Look here, Otto." He looked at me seriously unlike the expressions he usually gives me. But I wasn't intimidated in the slightest.
"Otto, you're going to be my successor. Since I'm one of the well-known heroes in the tribe like Jin here, who has his successor Basara-kun." He pointed at Basara.
"They've been pestering me about it over and over again, and kept recommending some random kids they found or raised." He stated annoyingly.
"Why me though? You know how lazy I am." I started to use the reason card. Aren't I just a "random" kid too? You found me on the streets when I was a baby.
"That doesn't matter. As long as you have the title, you can do whatever you want after the elders recognize you as my successor."
"By beating them up?" I looked at him.
"I mean yeah? With your abnormal strength, it shouldn't be the problem, if you're given enough training." He said as he knows full well how monstrous my talent is.
"Anyways, I'll continue. Once we arrive at the village you're going to receive your sword." He explained.
"Sword? I don't need those. Unless they're stronger than the weapons I currently have." I said. Weapons? My armory is currently low at the moment but I can create stronger ones in the future.
"You have a weapon?" He and Jin said confusingly.
"I do... But I'm not going to show you." I scoffed. Because Murasame was a one-trick pony, and it would be bad if people knew how it worked. So it's best if I kept its existence to myself for now.
"Oh..."
"Doesn't matter. You're going to take the Brynhildr sword, Otto." Bismarck said confidently.
"Brynhildr!? Are you serious here!? It'll kill him! She even rejected us as being its owner." Jin shouted at Bismarck who didn't seem to listen.
"I trust Otto, Jin. Because with him. He certainly surpasses you someday Jin." He said resolutely.
"Who's Brynhildr?" I asked. I'm sure it wasn't the Valkyrie from Norse mythology nor the one in Fate Grand Order that I know.
"Brynhildr was once considered as the strongest amongst the Valkyries in the God's realm. You know the one in Norse mythology. She is very well known for hunting strong evil spirits in the human world. Before encountering a really strong evil spirit, she then chooses to seal herself along the evil spirit in a demonic sword." Jin briefly explained, making Basara gain interest.
"Currently the sword Brynhildr, is resting on the shrine in the center of the Village with several seals. Because up until now she hasn't recognized anyone as her master. Not even me or Jin." Bismarck said.
"So you think I would want to touch that dumb sword, just to show off?" Fucker you're just saying 'Hold on to this grenade that is about to explode for me.'
"In a way yeah?" He flatly said.
"Aren't you afraid that the demonic sword would, you know? Take over my mind?" I asked, not like anything could invade my mind at this point.
"If she recognized you as her master then that wouldn't be the case. Well, unless you force her that is, or if she rejected you then that would be problematic." Jin replied.
"Anyways, that's all about it... If you want to know more about the clan, you can look further into it in the clan's archive or library. You'll probably get your answers there." Bismarck said.
"Uncle Bismarck, what's you're relationship with my father?" Basara suddenly spoke.
"Oh, about that? Hahaha-, I used to be one of Bismarck's disciples." Jin answered instead.
"Father doesn't that mean, Otto is your junior?" Basara asked again.
"Now that I think about it yeah? I guess that makes him one." Jin didn't know what to say. As Bismarck laughed.
"It seems you're misunderstanding something here Jin." He corrected him.
"You see I didn't train Otto here." He tried head patting me, as it slapped his hand away. "He's self-taught. Because, as I said before. He would surpass you." He said with confidence.
"Surpass me? Without getting training?" Both of them sounded confused.
"He's a real talent, I assure you." The old man stated.
...
After 2 hours of walking, we entered some kind of barrier, in the middle of nowhere.
As the environment shifted into a hidden countryside.
"Surprised?" Jin asked me.
"Not really... It makes sense that the village where heroes are being made is hidden from an ordinary view." I look around.
Everything is traditional... No electricity. *sigh* I can already feel boredom energy here.
I looked at Bismarck who was eyeing older women, who judging by their looks, probably have husbands by now.
"Ehem.. Why don't you and Basara go and play for awhile, while I unpack the things at our place." Bismarck said to me as he immediately ran off. I could hear Jin's sigh beside me.
"He's at it again..." Jin said.
"What again? Is he going to fuck someone's wife?" I asked, making him chuckle.
"Most likely yeah, he must've been holding himself up after meeting with Chisato who was a very gorgeous woman. Don't you think?" Jin looked at me.
"Don't know..." I didn't feel anything. If it were me in the past I would probably get turned on just by looking at Chisato's figure.
Is this what it means to be free from all desires? I think that's a thing right? Since Shakyamuni did say that I'm a Buddha... Doesn't that mean that I'll become a God after I recover my full power?
"You don't know?" Jin looked at me with concern in his eyes.
"Hey. Are you perhaps? Aren't attracted to the opposite sex?" He whispered.
I didn't know what to reply. I'm attracted to the opposite gender but... That only applies to fictional women, where they don't exist in the real world... I think Kiko or something scarred me.
I can't say that to Jin... It's too embarrassing.
Did he ask me that because I looked like a girl? Several maids at the mansion often say that to me.
"No, I'm interested in the opposite gender..." I flatly said.
"Really? Oh... Heh, maybe you'll find some kind of childhood sweetheart during your stay in the village." Jin smiled as Basara approached us.
"Hey, wanna go hang out by the River?" Basara said.
"Sure, why not." Might as well explore the countryside.
We arrived at the river bank as there were a lot of children who were getting trained in water.
"I guess they're training their stamina underwater," I said, as Basara confirmed it.
The place was loud with the trainers roaring at the children.
"Is there a quiet place here?" I asked.
"There is... But I don't think that it's appropriate for us to go there for now." He hesitated.
"Let's go." What's there to be afraid of? Buddha is right next to you.
"Alright fine. But promise me you'll take responsibility, okay?" He said, and I nodded to it.
We climbed up towards the upstream of the river. As the environment became serene and calm.
"Ummm. I think this is as far as we can go Otto."
"Why?" I don't feel danger whatsoever so why stop? Is this some kind of restricted area or something?
"Well... Your clothes might get dirty." He looked around before saying it to me.
"No. I don't mind getting a little bit of mud on my white clothes. Thank you for pointing it out though. But we should explore more deeper, don't you think?" I said with a smile.
"Okay, but we have to be quiet and careful..." He said, as we slowly walked forward.
What's there to be careful of? There are only birds and a calm river.
Basara suddenly stopped in front of me. As we heard splashes.
"..." I see, why he's reluctant to come here now...
I looked at him who was looking away from the origin of the sound.
"Look Basara. Women are bathing in the River." I pointed at the girls who didn't notice our presence.
"No- peeking on them is bad," Basara said.
"Why? Aren't you happy?" I questioned.
"Well I am, but still, it's wrong to peek at them without permission." He replied.
"Hmph, this is the bath scene that we're going see, just beyond here. Why we don't take this chance to peek at them." I was mischievously smiling, as I thought of leaving him alone to deal with the girls.
"But Otto-." I grabbed his hand as we uncovered the scenery.
