29 Curse Technique

A week passed by after Vali tried to challenge Otto in a fight, which went viral on the internet with the caption. "Man runs away in a duel." which irritated Otto a bit before he calmed himself down. No one seemed to even question how fast he disappeared from his spot.

After that video became famous, people started to look at him like he was some weakling trying to fit in with the strong and thought his status as an 'A-Rank' blazer was fake because he was specially admitted to the academy.

Otto had the urge to punch those people who were looking at him weirdly, but Brynhildr stopped him. Stating that those people were just jealous that he was more handsome than the ones who were defaming him.

"*sigh* At least I now discovered my innate cursed technique which I named Moon Blades."

Otto was proud of his innate cursed technique since it similarly worked like Sukuna's dismantle, but was visible and unpredictable.

Otto's innate curse technique, allows him to create and manipulate sharp blades that are shaped like a crescent moon from a wave of his hand or sword.

His crescent blades are innately disordered as the blades constantly change in size, direction, and how fast they travel. Even Otto himself doesn't know where the blades go, as it doesn't have any patterns.

This cursed technique goes well with his sword and spear swings even more dangerous to clash head-on. Since each swing creates 10-20 crescent blades that might envelop the attacker, he could also use his hand as a source for his innate curse technique, but the effects are less effective when using than a weapon.

The only weakness Otto had observed so far was that his technique would cut anything that it made contact with, making it so that it was inherently impossible to use it with other allies besides him since it would most likely kill them due to the unpredictable nature of the moon blades. The technique is instead ideally used alone since he could go wild all he wants with it.

He had also made 2 binding vows to increase his curse energy output. First was 'Revealing One's Hand' in which he explains how his curse technique works, like most anime characters explaining how their ability works in a fight, in exchange for an increase of curse energy output. Telling his opponents about it wouldn't matter that much, because of the nature of his moon blades.

The second binding vow which he calls 'Dark Ascension'. When the sun is up his innate curse technique becomes 50% weaker, but when night approaches, the technique would increase its strength by 200%. The dimmer the environment was, the stronger his innate curse technique became. That would mean that in one slash instead of 10-15 moon blades, it would become 40- 60 moon blades during the night. Even though he thought it was broken, that only comes from 1 slash...

(A/N: 10-15 is already at 50%, I feel like it's too balanced right?)

The binding vows were his way of compensating for his low output since he just had to use the excess amount of curse energy he generated somewhere, or else it would be a waste.

"Your newfound power is sure strange... I can't feel any magic behind it, and the way you use it is different from using any magic or noble arts." Brynhildr commented that it was her first time witnessing someone use a curse technique, as the way Otto used it was unique in his own right.

"Of course. It's one of a kind after all." No one in the world he's currently staying in could use cursed energy as people, in general, treated it as some kind of malevolent energy that must be purified at the nearby shrine. So no one was able to use it up until now...

He had also looked up the internet, just in case Jujutsu Kaisen was in this world as well. But found nothing, which relieved him since he didn't want to deal with Sukuna or Mahoraga.

He had learned his lesson on making fun of things that could kill him in the past, like a truck running over him, which he jinxed himself and died.

Since a few months ago when he arrived at Shibuya, he was making Jujutsu Kaisen references whenever found something that was related to the anime, like some places.

'Thinking of Curse Techniques. I still haven't been able to use Reverse Cursed Technique...' Even after the time skips, Otto still couldn't seem to use Reverse Cursed Technique, after hundreds of trial and error.

He wasn't going to waste his authority on high-speed regeneration when he could just learn and use the Reverse Cursed technique, which was more convenient since he had an abundant amount of Curse Energy.

...

"Hey Otto, wanna hang out?" Otto's spiky blond-haired classmate called out to him while dragging several girls with him.

'... Yuudai Moroboshi is an overbearing person, not in a bad way. He's just too extroverted for me to handle. He is a hard-working and strong-willed type of person, who doesn't give up that easily. Seeing his attempt on trying to communicate with me during the past week. And like me, he's also interested in cooking as a hobby where me and him eventually conversed with one another. Since his family runs a restaurant.'

"No." Otto looked away since he was mentally tired from trying to do a reverse curse technique.

"Oh come on, we haven't hung out that much. Since you are always busy with something you're doing." Yuudai was exuding energy all over around him.

"But we hung out just yesterday... Why don't you invite other new people instead?" Otto replied.

"Why are you persistent on inviting him Yuudai?" One of the girls commented seeing that Otto didn't want to join in.

"Eh—?"

"Yeah like she said." Otto supported the girl to discourage Yuudai from inviting him.

"Mmm..." The girl who spoke up was trying to hide her silly grin from Otto, as she felt flustered that Otto agreed with her.

"Well... I just want to hang out with friends." Yuudai reasoned that he rarely ever has free time to play around with others since he mostly spends his time helping with his parent's business.

"So I figured out that inviting Otto would be a great idea."

"Hmmm, yes..." One of the girls agreed as they also wanted to get closer to Otto, despite his reputation on the internet.

"See, most of them also want you to come." Yuudai was oblivious to what the girls were thinking.

"Nope. Still no." Otto shook his head.

"Then how about I request a duel with you," Yuudai stated, surprising everyone in the room.

"I guess, I could spare time to hang out with you guys." Otto rolled his eyes, as he wasn't going to accept a duel just to refuse something so little.

Not to mention requesting an official duel in the school he's currently in was impossible for the other person to decline since the school encourages the students to fight to become stronger. That was because Bukyoku Academy was the best knight school currently to attend after it nurtured strong blazers and won several trophies in the Seven Star Sword Art Festivals during the past 4 years.

"Great!" Yuudai said happily as well as the girls behind him.

.

...

.

"Hey Otto-kun, how do you spend your free time?" One of the girls flirted with him.

"Train?" He replied.

"Heh— even if you train, you still have yet to request or accept a single duel in the past week." One of the boys stated that they felt jealous that Otto and Yuudai were surrounded by the girls from their class.

"Hey, I'm sure that Otto has his reasons for not fighting a duel." A girl defended Otto.

"Well, maybe Otto is just a soft person." Yuudai didn't mean it to be an insult.

"I'm not soft..." Otto did feel that he was softer after spending 5 months at Yukime's shop.

"You're becoming one though," Brynhildr commented as she felt it was good rather than bad. Since she didn't want her lover to get hurt.

"No one saw you fought once. And even if someone were to pick a fight with you, you would just disappear." Yuudai recounted, how many times random guys had tried to fight Otto. Not only did they think he was weak but, they were also more interested in beating an 'A-Rank' blazer like him.

Beating someone who had a higher position than them feels like they've achieved something great.

"And is that my problem that they couldn't catch up?" Otto shrugged, as the challengers aren't even worth his time if they can't even catch up to him.

"I think Otto-kun is just too strong."

"Tsk, why doesn't he fight with me then? If he's you think he's stronger." The B-rank man raised his fists against Otto.

"Hmph, You're just trying to show off in front of us, aren't you?" The girls shot the boys a glare as if they were guilty.

"Ummm, where is Otto?" Yuudai suddenly noticed that Otto disappeared from their table.

...

"How tiring..." Otto complained as he was now on the school's rooftop.

"You're just a typical loner," Brynhildr said.

"It's just boring to talk with them, without it getting things heated up." Otto thought that middle schoolers kids, get irritated so easily.

"I bet, toiling the soil is more fun than than socializing with those hot-haded children." He joked.

"You are still a child too you know. Just because you act like an adult, doesn't mean you are one. Your thinking is just more mature than theirs." Brynhildr views Otto as a person who got lost in the world of violence.

"*sigh* What do those high schoolers want with me?" Otto had always noticed that there were boys, that were constantly following and watching him from the distance ever since the Vali clowning happened.

He had always thought they were just people who just wanted to make fun of him, and just let them do as they please for now.

But now... It was starting to get annoying since they were now taking a picture of him without permission.

"Then confront them, it wouldn't hurt to teach them a small lesson now and then. And besides they're way too suspicious to be secretly taking a picture of someone." She said.

"Hmmm... If they were taking a picture of any middle schooler girl, then they might go to jail." Otto sighed as he proceeded to confront them who was causing a nuisance to him.
