Today, after breakfast, Zeal came to the room assigned to him, filled with tools likely used for alchemy. Due to the past months' focus on Asher's magic training, he had postponed the alchemy training. From what Zeal observed, he knew that Asher might also be talented in alchemy.
Asher also entered the room and looked at all the items in front of him.
"I've received the materials I asked from Drake, so today, let's learn the basics of alchemy," Zeal said.
"Yes."
"Did you read the book I gave you some time ago?"
"I read it, and I memorized everything in the book."
"Good, then do you know what ingredients are needed to make healing potions, and how much grinding and magic power are needed?"
"I know everything."
"Okay, then start by picking up herbs and grinding them."
Asher nodded and crushed the specified herbs using a mortar and pestle.
"Good, good. Herbs are like this. Next, use this mortar to grind the magic stones into powder. The mortar and pestle for grinding magic stones have engraved magic runes, so be sure to use them," Zeal explained.
"Understood."
Asher crushed the magic stones in the mortar until they were finely powdered.
"After that, weigh the crushed herbs and magic stones with this scale. Accurate measurements are crucial for stable quality," Zeal guided.
Carefully measuring, Asher divided the ingredients.
"I'm done."
"Now, put the ingredients into the alchemical cauldron and mix them well."
He mixed the herb and magic stone powder thoroughly to achieve uniformity.
"Finally, infuse magic into the cauldron. At first, you might not know the right amount of magic, so pour it in gradually," Zeal instructed.
Placing his hands on the cauldron, Asher slowly infused magic.
After a certain amount, the cauldron emitted a glow.
"It seems like a success. Once it's done, bottle the potion. The bottle has magic runes, allowing for long-term preservation," Zeal explained.
Asher filled vials with the finished healing potion and sealed them.
"That's the method for creating a basic healing potion. It's quite simple," Zeal said.
"So, this is alchemy."
"When making more potent potions, the number of ingredients and the amount of magic used increase, but the basic process involves properly processing the ingredients and infusing them with magic. Repeat the process without losing the sense of it," Zeal advised.
"I'll do my best."
From there, Asher tirelessly crushed herbs and magic stones, measured quantities, and repeatedly concocted basic healing potions in the alchemical cauldron.
He took a break for lunch but energetically continued the work afterward. Running out of materials, he luckily had gathered herbs from the forest, retrieving them from the item box to continue the process.
The large quantity of basic healing potions produced would be sold through the favored merchant guild with the help of his father, generating a steady profit.
The Adventurer's Guild also issued many requests for herb collection, contributing to the income stability of low-ranked adventurers.
Zeal was surprised, but this time, he handled the surprise. Although he thought Asher would be talented in alchemy, he didn't expect him to master basic healing potions in just an hour.
Zeal had gone out to gather materials for alchemy, leaving Asher with a rare moment of free time.
Currently, Asher was practicing his swings in the garden after applying support magic to himself.
A carriage entered through the gate and pulled up at the mansion's entrance.
Curious, Asher peeked, and from the carriage descended his older brothers and sisters, who attended the academy in the capital.
He stored the weapon he was practicing with in the item box and ran towards them.
"Welcome back, older brother, older sisters."
"Ash, we're back. You've grown quite a bit in the time we didn't see you," remarked Eris, patting Asher's head.
"Brother, that's not fair. I want to pat him too," said the eldest sister, Silvia; she pouted and embraced Asher.
"Ash is cute, I know, but should we enter the mansion?" suggested the second brother, Leo.
Following the suggestion, they all headed inside the mansion and, on a whim, joined the father in his study.
Representing the family, Eris knocked on the door, and upon receiving permission, they all entered.
"Father, we've safely returned from the academy."
"I'm glad to see everyone's faces. I'd love to hear all your stories, but I have a pile of work. Can you share them during lunch?" the father requested.
"Of course. Excuse us."
Leaving the study, they naturally headed to the living room.
The mother, Carla, had prepared tea in the living room and was waiting. Today was a rare moment for her children together.
"Everyone has returned safely. Come here and tell me your stories," she said.
Seated together, they shared the events from the academy—the tales of Leo excelling in the martial arts competition and Ava, the second daughter, gaining a fan club.
"Not just our stories, but I also want to hear about Ash. He received the baptism this year. How did it go?" Silvia inquired.
"Do you want to see my status?" Asher smiled, thinking of the surprised faces of his siblings.
"Of course, show us," Ava said as Asher sat on her lap.
"Hehe... Okay, Status open." Asher chuckled and said.
Ava immediately peeked.
"This is quite an amazing status you've been bestowed with."
One by one, each sibling checked Asher's stats.
"It's so incredible; it's almost enviable."
"Mother, how is Ashu being educated?"
"At first, we relied on Tristan from the knight order, but since there was nothing more to teach, now Sage Zeal is instructing him in magic and alchemy," Carla said.
"The strict instructor Tristan and Sage Zeal. How did you manage to find someone like Sage Zeal?" Surprised, Leo asked.
"It was nothing but good luck," Carla said.
