Fight

The next day, at 7am.

Walking into the gravity arena, even though he had thought he would never come back here again, Alaukik did not feel much except that he wanted to get this over with and go back to his room to develop and figure out more of his powers.

From the speakers set around the arena, came Arvind's voice.

"Good morning Alaukik. Today marks the beginning of your training regimen. Today you will be fighting prisoner number 100, who was imprisoned for the crime of arson, murder and destruction of public property. Now, whenever you're ready, give me a thumbs up, and I'll release her."

Hearing this, Alaukik immediately raised his right thumb high up and then got into a protective stance, with his fists in front of his body, waiting for the prisoner to be released.

*Whoosh*

With the doors on the other side of Alaukik opening, in came a tall and fair lady, walking with a grace that belied the fact that she was anything close to a criminal, much more a murderer with her hands filled with blood. Stepping into the arena, she took a deep breath

"Aaah, the breath of freedom," she said, finally looking towards Alaukik.

'Huh? A child? Am I supposed to believe that my opponent is this child? Meaning, if I kill this child, I will be set free and all my charges will be dropped? Ha! This is going to be eas-'

Before she could even complete her thought, she saw Alaukik kick the ground and vanish from her sight. The very next second, she felt a huge amount of force on her cheek, so much so that she went flying towards the boundary wall and crashed into it horribly.

*boom*

Sliding down the wall, with her mouth full of blood and scratches all over her body, she thought,

'How can he be so fast? I didn't even see him come to me! And this strength! Thankfully, I was able to nullify most of the damage from hitting the wall with a barrier, however, the shock still injured my internal organs a bit… I guess I will have to go all out if I want to kill this child.'

Meanwhile, Alaukik could be seen standing in place, looking at his fist in surprise,

'I've become this strong? But, how come I never noticed? I mean, I know I've grown stronger, but this much? Damn! I guess that torture really was good for me… although I would never go through it again,'

While thinking to himself, he noticed the lady get up and begin to walk towards him. While doing so, a CAD in her hand lit up with an activation sequence and the next second, she pointed her hands towards Alaukik, while he just watched her do it. Immediately, four fireballs were created right on top of Alaukik, and fell down on him in an instant. Alaukik dodged them with ease, but the moment he stopped, four more fireballs were created around him, and this time, they didn't miss. They hit him straight on his body, and started to burn him, or atleast, that's what it seemed like.

In reality, Alaukik always placed a layer of space between his body and the outside world, to make sure that even if he was attacked, he would not receive any damage. Of course, this was not invincible, the shield could only take as much damage as he could supply psions, so if Alaukik wasn't able to supply enough psions to keep up the shield, it would crumble. Meaning, if the attack couldn't one-hit kill him, it would have no effect on the shield. Alaukik figured this out during his training with the instructor, as a way for him to get hurt less, even though the instructor was able to break through it on several occasions.

While it seemed like he was being burned by the fireballs, Alaukik once again kicked against the ground, and lunged towards the lady.

But this time, the lady was prepared for him. She realized from their first encounter that while he had immense speed, he did not have good control over his psions, meaning that his body constantly emitted psions that could be sensed by any magician. This meant that she could sense where he was coming from even if she couldn't see him.

'It 'won't work this time,' she thought as she focused on sensing his psions, but when she did, she found out that she couldn't sense him anywhere! And yet suddenly, he appeared behind her and

*Bam*

A punch to her spine again. However, before Alaukik could land the punch, a magic shield came between him and the lady, blocking his punch just a few centimeters away from her. Instantly, the lady turned around and grabbed his hand, simultaneously casting another spell.

"I don't know how you just disappeared from my senses right now, but you ain't doing that again," she said as she smiled and lobbed towards him a bright blue fireball.

Seeing this, Alaukik actually felt danger for the first time. He felt danger from the blue colored fire, and knew at once that his shield wouldn't be able to withstand it. Maybe sometime in the future when he has more experience controlling psions, but as of now, that blue fire was very dangerous for him. And the fact that she had caught him by his hand was an even bigger issue, because that meant that he could not teleport alone anymore, as if he teleported when someone was holding him, they would be teleported alongside him, meaning that the situation wouldn't change. With danger right in front of his eyes, Alaukik's mind started running extremely fast, thinking of ways to dodge the attack.

'I can't think of anything! No, no, it's too early too give up. I still can try one thing!'

As he thought of that, he slowed down his time to 4x, and then immediately tried to put up multiple shields in front of himself. However, he failed the first time. Seeing this, he didn't feel anything, as he had to tried to stack shields before also, but he wasn't able to before due to his poor control over psions. He tried it again, and again, and again until finally, when the fireball was just a few centimeters from his face, and victory was written all over the lady's face, he was successfull. He stacked three shields in between himself and the fireball, hoping that it would be enough to save himself. While still in a slowed down state, he wondered why this lady attacked him like she wanted to kill and not just make him unable to fight…

*Crash, crash, crash*

Came the sound of the three shields breaking almost instantly, but also consuming enough of the fireball that when it actually hit Alaukik, while he did sustain a lot of damage, it did not kill him. In fact, the moment the fireball hit him, he pulled his hand out of the lady's grip and instantly teleported away, although he had to suffer more injuries due to it.

With a badly burnt face and a dislocated wrist, feeling pain far beyond his limit, Alaukik shouted,

"Are you trying to kill me?!"

Hearing this, the lady looked at him like she was looking at an idiot and suddenly

"Ah, I believe I forgot to mention another thing, this will be a death match Alaukik, meaning that to finish this match, one of you has to die.." came the voice of Arvind.

"You b*tch! How could you forget something like that?"

While Alaukik was distracted talking to the speaker, the lady, who was looking very exhausted after the blue fireball, cast another fireball spell, hoping to hit the distracted Alaukik. Of course, this didn't go unnoticed from Alaukik, who immediately noticed what she was doing and instantly teleported to her location again, but this time, the lady was a bit slow to turn around, and in that time, Alaukik immediately bent down to cut the tendons in her leg with a sword he made, but due to the overwhelming pain, he missed by a few centimeters and was unable to immobilized her. However, the sudden pain in her legs, coupled with the exhaustion from casting the blue fireball, which was a magic that consumed a lot of psions, along with her weak body due to not being fed well, was too much for her to bear, and as she was turning around to cast another spell on Alaukik, she suddenly felt light-headed, and fainted. However, before she fainted, she noticed that Alaukik had never opened his eyes while he was fighting her, and

"Do you think I am not worthy of you using your full power on me? Ha! To think that in my last moments, I would still be humiliated for being weak, even though I spent all my life trying to change it!"

Saying these words, she fainted and fell on the ground. Seeing this, Alaukik also sat down on the ground, trying to catch his breath and trying to convince himself of what was about to come next.

'Kill her. I have to kill her. That's how I can end the fight. I can't bear anymore of this pain, I have to quickly end the fight and get treated. I don't think I'll be able to last another minute with these injuries. But, but, she's another human being like me, how can I just take a life like that? I don't think that's right.. But if I don't, I will die instead right? But maybe this is just a faux, and the RC won't watch me just die.. But what's the chance of that? Thinking back on it, the RC's decisions have always been cruel and merciless, so if they set this to be death match, then this probably won't end until one person dies… What should I do?!'

But before Alaukik could think some more, he saw the lady start to move and regain consciousness, but before he could make a decision, the lady opened her eyes and immediately lunged at his throat, and in that split second, Alaukik's hand moved on his own and slashed down. And with that, the lady's head was severed from her body, and as Alaukik lost consciousness, the last thing he saw was blood everywhere, all around him, until it drowned him

.

He didn’t actually see blood, he just saw a colorless liquid and smelled iron, so he assumed it was blood. Also I mean, there’s not really any other option.
