Situation

Mother and Daisy were standing at the door, ready to fetch us. The carriage stopped in front of them, mother is scrutinising at us.

We got off the carriage as they block our path. " Why did you come back at this hour! Did you know that your father and I was worried, sick! And what is that thing behind you?" she spoke like a chatterbox and as per usual Daisy always report to her mother.

I give her the silent treatment. When I look directly at her, she was glaring daggers at me. She then turns to Avin and spoke calmly, " Avin, you will come to my room right away." I quickly hold his hands, as his hands trembled.

The pair of mother and daughter quickly enter the warm house as it is chilly night. "I am so sorry brother Avin...I should have answered her..." I start feeling guilty and shed some tears.

" It is alright little Aust, I will be fine," he smiles as if he is used to this treatment and walks towards mother's punishment room.

I was getting ready for bed as I heard Fan come in casually. His harden and cold eyes reach mine when I call for him. "F-fan? I will like to become f-friends with y-you... Can I?" I smile at him.

'I want to eliminate any chances of him beheading me...' I quiver slightly due to the cold. He examines as he glances directly at me. I know he can see my soul so I am a little worried that he can see through my thoughts.

After a while, I can feel that begins to let down his guard. "Then I take that silence as a yes?" His lips tremble slightly as it slowly forms the neutral expression once again.

"Fan"—feeling more confident," do you want to be my personal knight? I still do not have a knight...so will you agree to become my personal knight?"

I suddenly feel the setting become warmer. "Mn," as he nods. 'Holy- his innate talent is more astounding than I thought! Just a change of mood, the atmosphere surrounding us changes!'

I can hardly stop my face from reacting to the sudden change of environment.

That evening, it feels like both Fan and I have bonded even if it is still awkward as it was mostly me asking questions and him answering them with an 'Mn'.

The event completely slipped my mind. By the time I woke up, Gill was performing the usual routine but also more fastidious. Gill did not even bother to look at my old clothes in the closet and his hands moved to the new and fresh apparel.

I was confused and decided to ask, " Gill, is something important happening today? Why am I wearing the clothes Avin pick out for me?" he stares at me in disbelief. He clears his throat and spoke, " Today is when all the noble's children test their element affinity, young master. Did you, perhaps forgotten about it?" I gasp.

I quickly get dressed while being accompanied by Gill and head towards the dining room.

"Pardon me," I said as I walk towards my seat.

The atmosphere is awfully restless. " I heard from your mother, you brought back something useless," he said in an icy cold tone.

"Father, I plan to make Fan my personal knight," I respond.

Mother's face turns cold. "NO! I already pick one for you! Don't be disrespectful and listen to your mother!" she shouted as she stood up from her seat.

"Andrea, sit down. Give me a moment to think about your proposal, Aust." his voice echoed. "But dear, my efforts for giving him the strongest knight in Estralda, will perish. Please rethink about this issue."

In my mind, I wanted to spit out blood when she said 'Dear', what total bullish*t that is. She just wants money and fame, then in the future, she wants to manipulate me.

I kept a straight face while thinking. "Aust and Avin, today you both will be tested for your magic compatibility. Make your family proud."

Both Avin and I spoke in unison, "Yes father."

Later in the afternoon, we arrive at the capital of Estralda, Lunario. Both mother and father sat in the same carriage while we three were stuck in the same carriage. Surprisingly, Daisy doesn't seem to have something plan so I slowly let down my guard.

Till she spoke, "Aust," I look up at her and reply, " Yes?"

"I think I am in love..." she said softly. Both Avin and I pray to the goddess that the person she is talking about living a good life, as chaos is going to wreck his home. I cough, " May I know who it is?" Daisy also has been strangely quiet ever since I brought Fan back from the Auction.

To openly say that, meaning Daisy is going to cause chaos. Daisy blush and play with her fingers and slowly uttered, " I think I love Prince Royce... Aust, you...you have to help me!"

'Phew, the story is still going the right direction!' I gaze at her and said, " Of course, sister!" Avin who is beside the entire time held my hand tightly. The entire ride was how Daisy plans to get Prince Royce's attention.

By the time we reach the palace, Daisy was confident in trying to capture Prince Royce. Strangely she seems as if she has changed a lot from the original character.

Is it because my character change? Whatever it is I just kind of pity her so I'm delighted if she changes for the better. The carriage halt at the moment we were in front of the palace's large gates.

Gill opens the carriage door and waits for us to get out. Once all of us are out, including our parents, we head towards the entrance of the palace. The maids welcome us and lead us to the hall where everyone gets their element affinity tested.

The hall is packed with many aristocrats. There were food and seats prepared for everyone. It feels like a banquet.
