BTOOOM Day 3

( Yuuki's POV )

Blondie and I were sitting on the floor with our backs against the wall, Kaguya was sleeping on the sofa and the players we had helped were sleeping on the small platform outside the watchtower, I was waiting for her to speak first but as more time passed I considered breaking the silence myself.

Blondie: you said they would join our team.

Yuuki: and they won't.

Blondie: Then what?

Yuuki: I don't know, but I want to wait for them to recover, if I tell them to go now they won't survive the night.

Blondie: yeah, because there is someone super dangerous on the island, right? How do you know one of them isn't him?

Blondie pouts again and I poke one of her puffy cheeks.

Yuuki: don't worry if one of them was him I would know, they don't look like stone-cold killers.

Blondie didn't say anything and after a few minutes she extended her open palm toward me and I tilted my head slightly in confusion.

Blondie: chocolate, give me some.

She looked like a girl who wanted to be bribed with sweets, I smiled and took out two chocolates from my bag, one for me and one for her.

Blondie: why do you have so many sweets?

Yuuki: I have a sweet tooth OK.

Blondie: well we women have a second stomach for sweets.

I playfully nudge Blondie and she nudges me back and for the first time I hear her sweet laugh, we finished our chocolates in silence and the atmosphere was good between us, Blondie was smiling and Kaguya was sleeping peacefully as if we weren't in the middle of a death game.

Yuuki: you should sleep, you need to be well rested.

Blondie: I don't trust those guys, I'll stand guard this time.

Yuuki: I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt, but don't worry if they try anything I'll take care of them.

Blondie: how can you be so calm, people are killing each other even as we speak, every time I remember that I can't stop shaking.

Yuuki: there is nothing more precious to me than my family and friends, that's why I'm on this island, there's nothing I wouldn't do for the people I love and nothing will shake my resolve.

Blondie hugged her knees to her chest and she looked kind of sad.

Blondie: So why did you save me, I'm not family or friend.

Yuuki: That fat guy was going to do something that I couldn't forgive, everyone deserves freedom, and forcing someone to do something they don't want to do without a good reason is the same as taking away their freedom.

Blondie: then to kill would also be to take away freedom.

Yuuki: death is not the end of the road, worry about the living and always remember the dead.

Blondie: I don't know if I can do something like that.

Yuuki: believe me when you find something you really love, you will be amazed at what you will be able to do.

As we talked she looked more and more tired and a few minutes after we finished talking she closed her eyes and rested her head on my shoulder.

I didn't need many hours of sleep to function perfectly so I woke up before everyone else and Blondie and Kaguya were sleeping next to me and we were covered by my haori, at some point in the night she got up to sleep next to us, I used my powers to levitate them both and put them on the bed without waking them up, I came out of the watchtower to check on our guests who were sleeping soundly, one of them had three BIM pouch but no extra chip while the other had a pouch and an extra chip, After checking them out I waited for them and the girls to wake up to see if their story matched what they had.

The two of them were called Sakamoto Ryota and Taira Kiyoshi, Ryota said that someone had attacked him the first day and he killed him in self-defense and he did not collect his chip, He recognized the coat that I was wearing as the one that the guy who attacked him was wearing so that checks out also he met a kid the second day but he didn't kill him he just stole his BIMs but on this island that's pretty much the same, Taira said that Ryota was the first player he had found and that he hadn't killed anyone but he didn't say anything about his extra chip, I told them that I had a way to get off the island and it was better if they waited here until it was time to escape instead of continuing to play this death game and they were relieved by the good news.

After talking with Ryota and Taira the girls and I went down from the watchtower to talk privately.

Yuuki: I don't think they are bad guys but we can't trust them completely either, It's better if we leave them some food and they stay here to wait for the game to end, I saw another building on the island that we can use as a base.

Blondie: Good, I still don't trust them, that Sakamoto boy hasn't stopped looking at me since I woke up.

Yuuki: Don't worry, I won't let him peek at you while you're taking a bath.

Blondie: maybe he also wants to peek at you.

Yuuki: not funny, but just to be sure I don't think I'm going to take a shower today.

Blondie: smart.

They started giggling and I took out one of the extra smartphones I had and gave it to Blondie.

Blondie: what's this?

Yuuki: A smartphone, use it to call me in an emergency.

Kaguya has a tablet but Blondie had a flip phone with her, in this world, they haven't created smartphones yet, I suppose that creating drones and experimental explosives is a priority.

Yuuki: I'm going to get more supplies, try not to kill anyone while I'm not here, ok.

Blondie: I make no promises.

Yuuki: smart.

The two of us smiled and I walked away from the watchtower ready for when the supplies were dropped, Blondie told me that she has a stun gun to defend herself and also I deactivated the BIMs of those two so I think they will be fine.
