Wars of the future, played out in the present.

Sitting over the roof of the cabin, Megumi stared at the beautiful stars, only made available due to the calm darkness of the night sky. The wood of the boat creaked as it swayed, rose and dipped along with the waves. Its magnificent rhythm, trying to lure Megumi into the comfort of sleep.

'Rura any updates from Tsuna-nee?'

'No. She's been talking to the Kumo shinobi group that we also informed for the last few hours now.'

'Hmm…..'

'Where are you?'

'I should be getting close to the Land of Fire now. This guy….he's been talking to Nagato or someone else who can use the chakra rods almost all the time now….'

'Do you think you were discovered?'

'Nope. I haven't been able to figure out exactly what they're talking about, but it seems to just be a routine checkup every hour or so to see if he is being pursued or something by someone.'

'Has he not left the cabin and spotted you?'

'No, when ever he leaves the cabin, I just teleport away and spy on him using clairvoyance.'

'Can't you spy on the Sage of Six paths using that same method? You've been so close to him already after all?'

'No. You think I didn't try that already? He keeps himself surrounded in a domain, for a just in case situation, I'm guessing. Or if he doesn't do that, then he at least he lives inside someone else's domain currently.'

'Someone else has mastered their control of chakra to a degree that they are able to create domains apart from Hashirama and the Sage of Six paths? I find that rather hard to believe.'

'No…I think it might be an inherent property of the Rinnegan….tell me something, do you remember what the damages looked like when Pain destroyed the village?'

'Yeah…it was like a pit had formed inside the village and everything had been pushed outward.'

'So that makes it even more probable that the Rinnegan doesn't really control gravity per se, since gravity isn't a pushing force, the only thing it can do is pull toward itself.'

'So?'

'So what the Rinnegan probably does is that it creates a domain and then in some way propagates the users will through it using chakra.'

'...alright…let's assume that for now. But if that would be the case, wouldn't, no one be able to enter Amegakure since Pain is stationed inside it?'

'I think….he just didn't know it was possible to improve his techniques to be something like that. He probably just focused on creating chakra rods and controlling the bodies of his dead comrades that he probably never explored doing something like this.'

'Hmm…..maybe…I don't know what goes on inside the minds of messed up people.'

'I don't know too…..never quite figured that part out….whenever you talk to them, the only thing they say is they are right….'

'....Megi…..why interfere with this now?'

'...well…I thought I'd make it the first mission our organization takes on in the dark.'

'....yeah…and you still haven't even figured out the theme yet….' Sakura commented with humor in her tone.

'Hey! Don't be rude!' Megumi joked.

'Alright then! The 'great I' will help the 'poor you' graciously figure it out right now!

'Fine! Fine! Help me! oh great goddess! Help the foolish old me!'

'So do you want to make a secret or an organization that everyone knows about?'

'Eh…why not both? Maybe we have an organization that everyone knows exists, but no one can find out anything about it? Wouldn't that be cool? Like one day you become the kage of your village when the old kage that is stepping down has to explain to you that there is a secret organization in the dark regions of the world that is always watching you….'

'.....Secret Organization then…'

'Bu-'

'No. Keep it a secret. Let everyone else try and figure you out on their own. You don't need to do branding.'

'....but it's so cool….'

'Megi, this is real life!'

'But who said life doesn't have to be fun!'

'...no. You do your best to keep it a secret, I'm sure they'll notice your actions anyway. Maybe you can leave behind a signature at the scene to assert the involvement of your organization.'

'Alright….'

'Ok. Then what do you want your organization to do?'

'What do you mean?'

'Do you want them to act to help others or to fight others?'

'Hmm…..why can't it be both?'

'It will be in practice, but when setting the tone will let you decide what to focus on and how you will behave during tense moments.'

'....all this is getting a little too rigid. I can't function like this Rura…'

'What do you mean you can't!? All organizations work like this! Didn't you write it yourself? In the notes you gave me!?'

'But this isn't a business, Rura…let's not treat it like that.'

'Then are you doing this for fun!?'

'No….more like, for not letting 'bad' happen? Self-defense ? Maybe?'

'How do you want to leave the lives of people hanging on your 'maybe'? You're going to go against the Sage of Six paths. Not a random person you can just go beat up and make everything fine once again.'

'....no…a structure will just hold me back. What ever structure has to emerge will emerge organically. This won't be a large organization like you're thinking it will. The most it'll have will be around like, ten or twelve people at most….you don't need a structure for that, all you need is a direction.'

'....then what's the direction of the organization?'

'*sigh* You're taking this too seriously Rura. I don't want to push an agenda. All I want to do is push back against any injustice.'

'How can't I be serious!? You need to be prepared for things like this! Or people will die! Like today!'

'Rura….there's a difference between being proactive and being prepared. I don't want to control any situation. All I want to do is to make any person trying to become the king of the world end up hurting themselves alone and not anyone else.'

'....but who'll take care of the people who die because of all this!?'

'No one can go around and save everyone Rura….all you can do is make sure whenever there is an attempt at doing so, the other person suffers the most-'

'But will you do nothing if people die like this!?'

'....Rura….come on….you aren't living in a separate world from the Sage of Six paths, you can't become immune or make anyone else immune to the consequences of his actions! What will you do to stop him right now if he decides to kill half the people on the planet? We will more likely than not just be an annoyance to him probably, since we can't even kill him, yet.'

'But it just seems so wrong! How can I just let those people go away!?'

'Who says you're letting them leave?'

'But you said you don't want to make a stand against them, you just want to react to whatever they do! That way you're just allowing them to kill people and then using the deaths as a way to stop them! It's like using weaker people as body shields.'

'No….Rura you really think I'll do that?'

'But…'

'Tell me. Do you really think that?'

'.....'

'All I want to do is, make sure now that Hagoromo has started taking his first steps he'll fall flat on his face when he tries to take his next, and when he falls, I want to make sure everyone else has the ability to step over him.'

'Big words for someone that doesn't even want to use the Haruno store publicly to suppress or denounce Hagoromo.'

'I already told you Rura. We don't have the ability to do that yet….it's too early.'

'But people are already dying Megumi!'

'And if we don't time it right, only more will die! You don't use a weapon against an enemy to hurt him. You use it to finish him off.'

'How do you even know that that'll affect him!? And you never kill anyone in a single move in a fight! Especially not a person that's known to have lived at least a thousand years!'

'.....*sigh* this is going nowhere…..talk to me when you've cooled off a little bit. I don't want to argue with you. I'm sure you can convey your grievances calmly, we can dish it out then.'

'...I hate you.' Sakura spoke with a venomous tone, with a quiver in her tone that made it clear she was suppressing her tears.

Megumi just shook his head as he looked back into the dark sky, glittering with stars, enshrouded by the vast space of cosmos lingering in between, that held another thousand of those invisible stars, galaxies and planets.

'What do you want Hagoromo…? Do you want to become the king of the fabric of fates one again? Even if you're in control of the fabric of fates, what exactly is it that you want that you'll gain by taking control? You have had control for nearly a thousand years already….so what is it that you need to wait for?'

'Is there something special about the Infinite Tsukuyomi that needed him to wait for a thousand years?'

'How does an unbreakable genjutsu work anyway?'

'How does occular Genjutsu and normal work anyway? What are the differences?'

'I guess I should ask Tsuna-nee to pass me books? Or Hashirama oji-san? He probably knows the most about it.'

'....or maybe I can just ask the people in pure land? Surely they know a lot about genjutsu too? Especially Izuna.'

'By the way….shouldn't Madara also be inside Pure Land right now? Why wasn't he there? Is he in the world just like Hashirama? Is that why Sasuke is so weak?'

'...Hmm….who are Naruto and Sasuke currently if they aren't the reincarnations of Indra and Asura?'

'Kaguya…..she's the rabbit queen…Sarutobi clan's monkey summons…along with the Slug Sage, the Toad Sage and the Snake Sage, did animals learn to use chakra first? Before Humans? Or were they naturally so powerful?' 

'Where did all the other stronger animals go anyway?'

'I remember there was a wolf that was controlled using a special power in a small village in the Naruto world….I wonder if that wolf is real here.'

'What would people find if they excavated the places here? Perhaps bones of Giant ancient creatures?'

'What about the dragon that gave birth to the Roran kingdom that was used for time travel anyway?'

'....hmm….too many important unanswered questions….'

'I also have to interrogate that Toad soon….'

Megumi looked ahead as his mind buzzed, thinking about plans and counter plans for the future and then discarding them when he thought too much about them since they would've already been visible to anyone that could look into the future.

'What would I do if I could see into the future?'

'How would I kill someone who could look into the future?'

'...how could I make something inevitable?'

....

"Hmm….go tell Danzo to do it now." an old man wearing a white haori spoke in a deep confident tone like his word was the law.

"Yes sir…." Obito voiced as he bowed comically and left the room to go see Danzo.

Stepping out into the dark hallway, that let in very little light from the high ventelation points that were placed strategically to let out any bad smells and keep the air fresh, he began walking around a spiral that slowly wrapped around a large statue in between.

It was the statue of the husk of the ten tails.

A black shadow grew out of this husk as it began following Obito, when it spoke softly, "When will you kill him?"

".....soon….I just need to figure out how I can…."

".....perhaps you might be able to if you asked Nagato or Konan to look into his past and find out who he was?"

"No….after our loss in Kirigakure they trust him more….especially with those ridiculous future seeing toads of his that are around him all the time."

".....the toads are indeed quite annoying…."

"Who knew there was another person like Jiraya roaming around the world…. I wonder if he's just like this old man too….."

"No way…..I've spied on him occasionally….he's…..not normal…."

"As if this old bastard is. All I ever see him do is keep circulating chakra inside his body….."

"It does keep him alive….."

"I wonder if the amount of time he does that has something related to his jutsu….."

".....I haven't heard of a jutsu like that…."

"Yeah…it is probably nothing….just my mind rambling off like always…..I need to go look at Rin's grave again…..it feels empty inside…..I will kill Kakashi one day…..after I'm done with this old man..."

The shadow vanished into the husk of the ten tails statue as Obito arrived at a door in front of a room.

*knock* *knock*

"Come in." a deep voice responded from within the dark and damp room.

Opening the door to a crack, Obito spoke in a low tone, "Danzo.....the old man told you to do it."

".....alright....I'll leave and go to Kumo.....tell Konan to prepare the explosive seals for me.....and Tobi to prepare the clones for me....."

"Tell it to her yourself! I'm not a bellboy!" Obito said as he slammed the door shut and began strutting up the spiraling hallways, climbing to the top, to get some fresh air, and to look east, towards home.
