Ch 38:- Peter Training and Improvement

After Peter woke up, Rayne taught him some fundamental things about walking, like keeping his back straight while walking and always walking with confidence in each step. After their morning psychology trauma-relieving session, they both took their turn before making their way towards the canteen. There, they sat at an isolated corner and ate their breakfast. After that, they made their way towards the classroom, where most of the students were talking about the two who had gone missing. It wasn't just the talk around the school, but it was talked about frequently in Del's class since the students belonged to their class.

Del finally entered the room with a smile on his face as he prepared to make an announcement to the whole class. "Good morning, everyone. Now that everything is back to normal again, I am proud to announce that your first portal outing date has been confirmed and will now be moved to next week. So, please prepare yourselves as best you can. Oh, and remember to practice with your teammates. The same teams that were registered before will be used for this outing."

Rayne could only sigh for the unkept amount of time as he saw all of his teammates glare at Peter. "Don't worry, and after classes, I want you to return the ability book that they had given you," Rayne said.

"But what-" Peter tried to say, but Rayne interrupted him mid-sentence and asked him to do what he was asked for. After classes were over, Rayne followed Peter until he reached the second-year building. There, he saw him talk with a group of five second-year students before handing them books. Seeing the books, they became enraged and went in for a punch, but Rayne immediately sprinted to Peter's side and caught the punch like it was nothing. He then threw him overhead like a judo throw before going for a stomp kick right at the head, with an audible crack echoing throughout the ground, causing everyone to look at him with shock.

"Take him to the doctor's office. We can't have him dying here," Rayne said.

"We will see you," the group shouted but stopped midway when they looked at the wristwatch that was displaying level 8.

"What would you like to see?" Rayne said.

They glared at him before scrambling away.

"Why did you ask me to return the books?" Peter asked.

"Can't have you being indebted to them," Rayne said before making his way towards the combat class, while Peter made his way towards the elemental class.

During the combat class, all Rayne did was sharpen his move set by practicing them over and over again. As he was practicing, he heard Leo say something to Quinn. "Are you on humanities side?"

Quinn answered, "I'm on my own side, but there are people I want to protect on this side too."

"Get yourself a new weapon, kid!" Leo shouted. "You're going to need it for the portal expedition, and my offer still stands. Feel free to have a duel with me whenever you wish."

'Hmm, this seems to be getting interesting. What do they say? Yeah, the sauce is getting thicker, but if my speculations are correct, then why didn't he ask me?' Rayne thought.

[Simply put, your Qi quality is much better than a normal human's due to its interaction with divine energy when you first awakened, granting it magical properties. It covers your vampire aura, not letting a single bit escape, making it seem to people who can perceive energy that you are a normal human.]

'Oh, debatable,' Rayne said mentally.

After combat classes ended, Rayne messaged Arvon to request a week of leave. Arvon easily accepted and sent a thumbs-up message wishing him the best of luck. Rayne then called Peter to his dorm room, where Rayne began Peter's intense physical conditioning program before gifting him a Level 2 Earth ability book. Rayne simplified the knowledge to help Peter learn quickly and continued to train him day and night. He even advised Peter to transfer to the combat class to further his training in hand-to-hand and armed combat.

With only three days left before the portal outing, Rayne decided to take Peter to the Red Portal Planet for more training. He blindfolded Peter with a cloth, then used a scroll and two intermediate-tier crystals to teleport them.

After Rayne removed Peter's blindfold, he handed him a bag filled with medical supplies, kunai knives, food pills, and a basic-tier katana. Rayne attached two talismans to Peter before instructing him to survive for two days. Peter didn't say a word even though he was confused. Rayne then threw a kunai far away, and Peter disappeared in a puff of smoke, reappearing at a random corner of an alleyway. Rayne pulled out a tab and began to monitor Peter's progress. As Peter arrived at the abandoned alleyway, he struggled to see properly due to the lack of light. He closed his eyes and stomped his feet on the ground, attempting to use a technique he had been developing since Rayne showed him a cartoon scene from Avatar: The Last Airbender. This technique allowed him to perform a type of echolocation by feeling the vibrations through the ground and creating a mental image. As he looked through his ability, he noticed a rat-like creature 30 degrees to his north. He stealthily made his way towards it before swiftly plunging his katana into its neck, killing it instantly. After exiting the alleyway, he was able to see somewhat properly with the help of the moon and stars in the sky. Peter quickly noticed three rat-like beasts approaching him at high speed. He threw his kunai at them, causing them to stagger. This gave him enough time to use his earth ability to kill them by forming spikes and impaling their heads. After dispatching them, he cut them open before extracting the core from each one. He then went on to find a secure place to build himself a shelter.

After building a secure base, Peter spent his days killing any beasts that entered the perimeter, using a combination of armed combat and his earth ability. He spent two days protecting his base perimeter, but throughout that time, one question plagued his mind "Who is Rayne, and how did he transport me to another planet?" Peter couldn't stop wondering about Rayne's mysterious nature.

At the end of the second day, Rayne arrived and congratulated Peter on his progress. Rayne then blindfolded Peter once again, and they were transported back to Rayne's dorm room. After saying goodbye, Peter entered his own dorm room and went to sleep, ignoring Vorden and Quinn's worried expressions. Peter had been missing for two days, but the school claimed that he was only ill.

Another day had passed, and the day of the portal outing had finally arrived. While Peter had spent the last two days trying to survive, Rayne had taken the opportunity to sell the ability book he had picked up. He sold it as a paperback with the price ranging from 300 to 8000 credits, depending on the type of book he was selling. In that short amount of time, he was able to make up to 30,000 credits, which was more than enough for him for the time being.
