5 Years Later.

A man in his early 20s could be seen standing in the middle of a field of white flowers, tainted by blood that rolled down his blade. Several stars and the moon illuminated the place with heavenly light, creating a picturesque view of what the heavens would look like at night, if not for the rotting smell of flesh and the ominous presence that loomed in the endless void surrounding the island.

"I am here to challenge you, wretched creature! Come and fight me," Rayne shouted, his voice echoing through the void like a dragon's roar. Although it seemed impossible by the laws of nature, echoes occurred in this mystical place without question.

At that moment, a creature emerged from the void, a horrible-looking creature with a body made of bones and rotting flesh, along with a face twisted into something that normal men couldn't understand. There were long, tentacle-like projections instead of hair, and it looked truly disgusting. Rayne started to become attracted to it, as if it was mesmerizing him to come near. He immediately shook off the feeling by channeling some qi to his brain to refresh it. As it started to descend to land, Rayne immediately shouted, "Ego te ad hominem fieri!" Immediately, the blood that was lying around on the flower started to float above in the air before transforming into a magical circle, with a beam falling straight at the beast. While he saw, with a saddened expression, all his soul force get depleted, during his journey throughout this nightmare realm, he experienced many things: sadness, guilt, joy, love, and finally, loss. Throughout his journeys, he was able to reach the pinnacle of Ascended, but at what cost? For the first time in both his lives, he fell in love with a girl, and she died trying to protect him. He tried to convince himself that all of this wasn't real; it was mere simulation created by one great god. But he couldn't just ignore what had happened. No, he needed to avenge her death. He needed to kill the reason for which she died, and that was the only reason he was here in Dreamland - the core of the Nightmare Realm, the core that governed the nightmare. He was here to commit one of humanity's greatest taboos, one of the greatest sins, and that was to kill the God who maintained this whole realm. But he, even as a peak Ascended, couldn't defeat such a heavenly being. So, he traveled to each and every corner to gather knowledge, and finally, he was able to create two spells: a spell to create a rift to enter this place and another spell, which would force the God to take a human form while suppressing his godly power. But, of course, all of it came at a cost - destroying his soul core. If he had been in a sane state of mind, he wouldn't have made such a rash decision. But all that loomed in his mind was rage. And let's not forget that the armor he was wearing was created by himself. He forged the shadow essence of the Shadow eminent in the Divine flame of creation, combining it with the scales of the great Azotha serpent of the East Sea. It's an item that could regenerate indefinitely and provided the wearer with absolute defense. But, this also came at a cost: the shadow from which it was created was alive, and the only thing it knew was destruction, causing the wearer to become slowly corrupted by it, with the only thing on the user's mind being corruption. Even the Heavenly System crafted by the god of knowledge and wisdom couldn't fight off its parasitism. But that didn't mean that either the knowledge god or Mother Chaos were sitting idle. No, they were traveling the multiverse, looking for an answer before he made the wrong decision. But, at last, they were late. The deed was already done. He had already waged war against the keeper of darkness, son of void Kos. So here he stood, with his soul force sucked out of his body, leaving him with zero soul force, and finally, his soul core got shattered, making him feel weak. But he didn't let it take over him. Soul force wasn't the only thing he trained; he also trained with his Qi and body, hardening and refining both beyond what normal humans could even imagine.

Finally, the process was over, and the God Kos fell on the ground in a human state, with smoke rising from his body. Before he looked at him, he said in an enraged voice, "What have you done? You will pay for it!" Saying this, he immediately disappeared from his spot before appearing in front of Rayne with a punch. But Rayne immediately dodged it; he had activated his Qi, which was now covering his body and also activating his [Draconic Vampire Eyes], which, due to not having any soul force, had reduced in strength. Not to mention the burning sensation that he was feeling, it was as if he was being exposed to a furnace.

Rayne kept on dodging each of its punches while adding his own, but then suddenly, when it was throwing another punch, Rayne warded it down by performing {Renewal Guard Breaker} before pivoting on his other leg and delivering a {Reverse Roundhouse Kick} directly at its head, sending it hurtling sideways as it skidded through the ground before coming to a stop. It now had a huge grin plastered on its face. Seeing the grin, Rayne became even more angry before rushing towards it at breakneck speed, trying to deliver a forward punch. But it immediately retaliated by crouching down and performing {Renewal Arang} causing Rayne to vomit a mouthful of blood on the ground around him.

"What did you call this technique, hmm? Ah, Renewal Taekwondo Arang," said the God Kos. Seeing it perform a martial art that was not known to this world, Rayne was a little stunned and said, "How did you perform it?" The god smirked before saying, "You do realize that I am a God, right? I can see everything, and that means I have seen you perform numerous skills."

Hearing it say that, Rayne was once again reminded who the being before him was, and he was fighting him on a limited time. The spell he had cast would lose its effect soon, roughly estimated within 15 minutes, and he needed to defeat him within that time. Rayne concentrated as a swirling blood mist started to form around his leg, calling upon his power of blood. It was even much more difficult as he created a swirling crimson dragon around his leg before immediately releasing it at the god. But it immediately raised its leg, catching the dragon with its leg and redirecting it towards him. Rayne immediately raised his hand in a cross, and soon, the armor he was wearing swirled around before forming a shield before him, which fortunately saved him. As soon as he released his shield, the God was in front of him and started to punch him at super speed, making them seem almost blurred. His armor slowly started to tear away before he delivered a punch straight to his stomach, sending him flying backward.

"I thought you would be worth the challenge, but you are nothing but pathetic, just like your love. What was her name again, Mina? Tch," the God said with disappointment.

Hearing it, Rayne started to become enraged, and then he started to have a second thought. 'Was it a good idea to challenge such a being when I had the opportunity to exit this nightmare forever?'

At that moment, he started to have visions about what she said, "You didn't save me when you had the power. You didn't avenge me," while bleeding blood tears from her eyes.

"It is not over yet," he said. After saying this, he immediately started to overflow his muscles with Qi, causing them to bulge. He vanished from his spot and started to attack with a fury of punches and kicks, all aimed towards vital spots. It kept on dodging while occasionally getting hit and also attacking. Like that, minutes passed as they fought each other with great vigor. As it was nearing the end of 15 minutes, a battered and bruised God in human form could be seen kneeling while panting, and the same could be said for Rayne, who was equally exhausted. Not letting the opportunity go with his remaining will power, he took out a lightning talisman that he had created. Its name was [Heaven Punishment]. He immediately activated it, causing clouds to mysteriously appear before dashing forward at breakneck speed with small sparks of lightning cracking around his fist. As he neared the god, the lightning above had finished being made. At that moment, also the spell effect wore, but he didn't give him time to fully regain his power as he made a thrust motion with his hand, shaping it like a spear. At that same time, the lightning fell upon his hand, and he immediately thrust it deep into the god's chest. At that moment, multiple lightning strikes started to strike at them at a rapid speed, each above 300 trillion volts, immediately burning and destroying the mortal body of the God and also burning away all of Rayne's armor along with his lower half before throwing him aside due to the ongoing impact that was happening at that spot. Rayne now lay burned with his lower half and limb missing, all that remained were remnants of lungs and heart, and he could feel his life slowly slipping away. At that moment, he heard the system prompt. [Nightmare Slain]

Rayne appeared in a void with countless stars in the sky, but he was not the only being present. There were two other beings there as well: a beautiful lady with jet black hair that went down to her waist, eyes of celestial beauty, plump red lips, and a curvaceous figure, and a man with blond hair, dark eyes, a perfect face, and a well-built body.

"It seems like he is dying, but that's not the problem. We need to separate that creature from his body," said the man who is the god of knowledge, wisdom, and vitality.

"You are right," the female said, who is Mother Chaos. As she said that, with a wave of a hand, she immediately separated the black sludge-like creature that was until now influencing most of Rayne's judgment.

"Now, then, how do we deal with this creature? It seems to have a will of its own," Mother Chaos asked.

"It's one of the first creations of my disciple, so I think it is fair enough if I take it to the heavenly realm to purify it before giving it back," the knowledge God said.

"Hmm, but what about him? He seems to be dying slowly. His cells are deteriorating at a fast pace," Mother Chaos said.

"I can't do anything to save him. You know his vampire cells are the ones that are getting destroyed. If my calculations are not wrong, it would take about 1 hour before he becomes a pile of ashes. And you may already know, it is not my expertise," the knowledge God said.

"I can sense what you are trying to say. Is there any way I could help you to save him?" Mother Chaos asked in a worried tone.

Hearing her say that, a massive grin started to form before he came forward and flicked her head, causing her to flinch. At the same time, an influx of information got integrated into her mind - knowledge about how to transform the soul force into blood aura, an exclusive type of energy that can be found in vampires as well as demons of the My Vampire System world.

"Are you sure that it would be helpful for him?" Mother Chaos asked.

"Of course, it's totally safe. After all, his vampire cells were operating on soul force that was set up in the same frequency as the blood aura. But he may lose his ability to perform magic. I have faith in him that he will figure out some way to counter that problem," the knowledge God said with a hint of pride.

"Before you start, here is the soul force that you would be using," the knowledge God said while an orb of glowing reddish-white light appeared in his hand.

Seeing it, Chaos immediately nodded as she could feel it was an energy that was on the same frequency as the Blood aura. She took it before concentrating on it and converting it into blood aura successfully. After which, the knowledge God asked her to condense it before handing it to him. After that, he skillfully placed it inside of Rayne. After which he said that the Chaos God could depart to her pantheon.

After she left, he immediately teleported Rayne's soul into his body not wanting to keep the poor soul in this endless void.

Rayne woke up screaming at the top of his lungs, as though he had just experienced the worst nightmare of his life. As he looked around the room, he realized that it was familiar but different at the same time.

"Where am I?" Rayne asked, but nobody answered. He went to the bathroom to wash his face and calm himself down. As he looked at himself in the mirror, he experienced a sense of deja vu, and a flood of memories came rushing back to him. He remembered years worth of memories about Quinn, vampires, and military academy. He recalled the awakening of his soul core and going on an epic journey. However, after the two years of his journey, everything was a blur.

'If only I had a system right now, I would be able to ask questions about my memories,' Rayne thought to himself.

At that moment, a familiar message floated in front of him like a game HUD:

[System Rebooting.....1%, 2%, 3%...99%, 100%.]

[System Reboot Completed.]

[Running System Diagnostic... Completed.]

[Welcome, host. All the system settings have been reset.]

The voice that he was used to hearing once again appeared. Before he could say anything, another set of messages appeared:

['Tutorial' mode has been initiated.] [Please say 'System Interface' mentally to open the window.]

Hearing this, Rayne immediately said, "System Interface."

After seeing his progress, Rayne was stunned. He remembered most of the things he had learned, which included teleportation spells, standard spells, blood magic, and runic forging. However, he couldn't remember them being at such a high level. The same could be said for all his other skills. He also noticed that his eyes section was greyed out, and he wondered why blood control was on this page and not on the soul stats. This caused Rayne to become worried, so he tried to call upon his soul force, but he couldn't find it anywhere in his body. Fear gripped his heart. He only felt a familiar energy looming inside him, but he knew it was not his soul force. This realization caused him to panic.

"System, tell me everything that happened from the day I entered the nightmare realm until now. Show me everything," Rayne immediately ordered.

The system then started to play a video tape of the day he awakened his soul force until the last day of the nightmare realm.

The more Rayne watched, the more confused he became. He didn't remember falling in love, much less engaging in sexual activities or fighting and defeating a deity. These were all outrageous things that he couldn't expect himself to do for the sake of a girl he fell in love with just two years ago. There was something big happening here, so he started to replay his own memories several times and watched the video again to detect when the anomaly started to happen. After several minutes, he was able to find the cause: his behavioral change started to happen after killing the Eminent of Shadow. He didn't remember forging some god-level armor in the Flame of Creation, but he wore that armor throughout the whole video until the moment he was close to death, even during intimate moments with Mina.

Rayne came to only one conclusion: he was being mind-controlled by a creature, and the love part was just a medium to impregnate her with its offspring. When she was killed by one of the gods' followers, he became outraged and went on a killing spree before killing the god. This was the theory he was able to come up with. When he saw that the armor suit was black, it reminded him of Naruto's Black Zetsu and Venom from Marvel, and he realized that he might have been under the control of some similar entity.

He immediately commanded his system to run a full-body diagnostic to check for any foreign elements in his body.

Seeing that there was no soul force, Rayne was a little sad as he knew how versatile it was. However, he curiously asked, "What is Blood Aura?"

[Blood Aura and your Soul force are very similar. Your soul force was adjusted to the Blood Aura level so that the vampire cells in your body could utilize it more easily. So, you don't need to feel stressed about not having soul force because you could still perform normal blood magic with it. Blood Aura is the energy currency of vampires and demons alike. It is like their lifeforce.]

"Oh! I understand," Rayne said.

[Sir I think you are forgetting something important today.]

"What is it?" Rayne asked, not having any idea of what today was.

[Sir, you were supposed to work as a part-time waiter at a cafe today. You were asked to be there straight at 7:00 am, and right now it is 6:50 am.]

Rayne's eyes became as big as saucers. He momentarily forgot about all his worries and immediately started to brush his teeth before getting into some comfortable clothes and spraying some perfume so that Quinn couldn't detect him, although there was no guarantee about it working. He couldn't say that without trying.

Properly dressed, Rayne exited his room and made his way to the school gate, exiting it before breaking into a sprint while utilizing his movement technique and reaching his destination by 6:58 am. He didn't bother to hide his speed because he was wearing a long-sleeved shirt which was hiding his wristwatch from showing any level.

And like that, Rayne proceeded to spend his life in the overworld, never dreaming of entering any nightmare realm anytime soon. Oh, and did he tell you that he can use his Heaven Devouring technique not only to absorb soul force from his surroundings but also the free natural Qi from the surroundings. Although he is not proficient enough in it to be considered a skill right now because of the lack of Qi in the other world but now that he is in this world he is sure that he would be ascending to new heights.
