Chapter 2 - Little Fatty

5 years later,

"Hah, hah, hah" Mach was panting, was it him or did the snakes become even more aggressive today. Roughly 2 years ago, snakes started to random appear and attack mach. Every time he was alone, the snakes would try to kill me, killing them made no difference as they would be replaced with new ones.

Mach had a rough idea of what was going on behind the scenes. It was probably maria's doing.

She probably doesn't want a rival for mario as the succesor of the family business. And for the snakes, she must have hired bourbon to send the snakes after him.

Mach's heart pained again, he wanted a loving and tender family too, friends to goof around with. Every morning, maria would pamper her son, feeding him a bite every now and then with a delightful smile on her face. On the same table, antonio would having his breakfast while fondling rena and grandfather would sigh seeing this everyday while mach could do nothing but silently burn with jealousy.

He once tried calling her mom, but she completely ignored him.

Mach was now 10 years old. His current status was

Another startling discovery was - the little fatty from phase 1 who talked big, that was Maria's child mario, he is named after his mother. Mach tried talking to mario too, but maria wouldn't allow it.

Mario and mach had equal age and he fiercely competed with Mach at everything. But while they were even in academics with 100/100 in exams and close competiters in P.E with mach in the lead. Mario hated mach deeply for stealing his limelight. Children burn with jealousy more intensely than adults. Mario was no different.

One day Mario decided to one up Mach by becoming a hunter.

The next morning, during breakfast -

"Mama, I want to become a hunter"

"But that is dangerous sweetie, people die trying every year. Don't go, okay."

Clearly not supportting the notion.

But grandfather had different ideas,

"No, He should experience this, as a hunter grandson, how can he not be a hunter himself."

Maria was worried, she showed a shocked face, "Father, how can you say that? You should know about the dangers of hunters exams yourself first hand. How can you send your grandson to the death's door?"

Mach pinched in "ohho, let me jump the bandwagon too. after all the more the merrier, right."

"Why do you want to be a hunter Mach? It's dangerous so leave this to me, okay.

Mach replied, " No no no, As the inheritor of the family business, mario doesn't need to be a hunter. Why don't you just help me pass the exams mario. I have no interest in inheriting the family business, you are suited for it."

Mario replied "Becoming a hunter is my dream, I will not back down from this".

Grandfather knew neither of them would backdown, they never did. But he can't lose both of his talented successors in a exam that wasn't necessary for the family, but also life threatening.

"Understood, Father." Maria understood her father in law's intentions, sadly, she couldn't buy the examiners even if she tried. That's just the sort of exam it was or else she would have them babysit mario.

Antonio's response to this entire conversation was "Are you going to have an exam in the school?"

Grandfather, Maria, mario, Mach and even the Butlers and maids did a mental face palm. He was just too ignorant.

Mario went on to explain, "father, the hunters exams are World famous. Every hunter has a the credit limit of a small corporation, free service to all basic necessities in over 90% of the nation's across the world and access to them."

"So it's a international level exam huh? It's a waste of time, I am the owner of the Itadaki firm, you don't need any scholarship programs. We have plenty of money for such things, you shouldn't participate in them" his father replied.

Mario face-slammed himself at his father's stupidity. Being a hunter was a honor was considered a higher status among rich and yet this man had no knowledge of it. In Antonio's mind, this was probably some genius scholarship program that they didn't need.

And as such went another morning political conversation in peace in the Iora house where both mario and Mach didn't want each other to participate in the Hunter exams.

And so, Mach latched on to Mario on his Hunter exams until they reached the examination venue. At departure, Maria and Grandfather came to give us a farewell. Well, Maria came to give mario a farewell only. A maid accompanied mario while a butler was assigned to take care of mach's needs.

Mach burned with jealousy, although no one took take of him at home. He never minded it, he was happy with the maids serving him breakfast, lunch and dinner. But mario had maids serving him his entire lifetime.

Mach had an Idea, He decided to call it Charmer. The nen ability charmer would generate positive feelings for mach in the target's heart by consuming nen.

If he has this ability, he can win over his family. He only needed another 1533 nen to level up the system. In another 7 days, the system will upgrade to level 2.

2 days later,

System 2.0

Another attribute was adding to the stats - hunger. After hunger depleted, the health would start dropping and all regeneration stats would be reduced until the hunger bar is filled.

The System now had a minimap showing him all nen users who didn't use zetsu and nen items. He could now see the status of people.

Upgrade to level 3 needed 20,000 nen.

The Nen ability management window was finally unlocked.

He made 2 abilities - Overcharge and Charmer. The abilities he made needed to be paid with Nen. He needed to rest for a while in between to charge his nen.

Charmer generated feelings of love towards the user in the target's heart and

Overcharge collected all nen created after his nen capacity was full, the nen can be unleashed in a single attack.

Mach can't reveal the system in the presence of others, so overcharge would allow him to keep the excess nen generated by his body aside safely for later uses.

It could also be used as a Trump card for a nen attack beyond his normal nen capacity. As Mach was gleaming over his recent success,

*boom* The ship rocked, sounds could be heard "The ship is under attack by pirates" or "The ship is leaking".

Mach grimaced at his situation, he had 0 nen right now.
