A NEW STORY

I regained my consciousness, my eyes opened staring at the ceiling it was made of palm leaves. A question I am alive? But how? I was dying a moment ago and where am I? I was at the hospital a moment ago, am I kidnapped? I looked around. There were 5 people in the room 4 lady and 1man. They all seemed very happy with a smile on their face. A woman covered in sweat who seemed to give birth just now smiled at me, she seemed the happiest person in the room. It felt like my body was floating in the air.

What!! I really was, I could feel hands so big lifting me I was amazed. The Old lady passed me on to the woman in sweat she holds me with her big but gentle hands with care.

She was in tears but still smiling. I then realize, I surely died a moment ago but got reincarnated and I am sure of it.

Congrats Mr. Okar and Mrs. kanyo the old lady spoke it's a son this time. As he hears this he burst into tears, I would name him Tatlom(with a smile on his face).

But?..the old lady spoke why is he not crying? The mood of the room suddenly changed, anxiety all over their face, both crying.

Shh, I was supposed to cry when I was just born now, what an idiot I am I facepalmed myself. It was weird but to ease their heart I cried without tears. They surely noticed no tears but the fact that now I was crying made them happy.

I could understand their language even though I was just born a minute ago. I thought maybe it's because I got reincarnated or maybe something else. (The two other people were his assistant or helper)

7 years have passed since then. We lived in a remote village far from the capital town(Itanagar). We were a family of five people Mother father, big brother (Okia), and big sister (Osin). I was the youngest. We were poor and did rely on our vegetables and rice fields for income.

Unlike my parents from another world(excluding my real mother)they were happy to have me, cared for me, and gave me the love I always wanted. I was happy being born in a family like this my last wishes have been fulfilled I guess.

I was fluent in this world's language. When I was playing in the field( the field was harvested) someone called me from inside. I slowly walked there it was my father holding a storybook, I was happy as I loved reading books in my previous life.

It was a book full of stories. stories of demons and a hero who saved the world from the apocalypse. I admired him so much. The stories that were supposed to be a fairy tale in my previous world are now a reality in this world. I wanted to be a hero like him saving people and be the reason for everyone's smile. Even though I was 27 + 7 years old. My heart became like that of 7 years old boy.

Heroes could use magic and powerful attacks that can even wipe out the whole country. But for an ordinary person to be able to use magic one must have a magic item that rightly belongs to them, bought, chosen by the item, Or having a skill book that they absorb( downfall is that the element they absorb is the only magic attribute they can use) . There are some few people(around 25% that can use magic without having an Item being a descendent of the hero race.).

The cost of a magic item was so High only the noble of the Arunachal kingdom could afford it.

Also to be the hero one must have to leave their home and take training from the academy to use magic at its full potential.

However, I could use magic without any item(only fire magic). I was shocked when I first found I was able to summon a fireball out of nowhere

Could I be of hero race? I thought. But if I was we wouldn't have been here farming and struggling to make a living, as the hero race resides at the capital town(Itanagar).

One day sneaked out in the woods to practice my magic. spamming fireball all-around lifting my hands forward, though It couldn't even pass 5 m distance.

It was already lunchtime but I was go hyped up I didn't even notice it. Mother worriedly searched for me everywhere and found me pulling out magic from my hands.

She hurriedly came close and with a scarred face, pulled my hands and ask me to stop. She looked around a few times panicking. I asked what happen.

She in a feared tone asked me not to use magic in front of anyone ." But why it is so cool isn't it? I can use magic without items?" I said. She replied" It indeed is but there are people who would not think this as an achievement but will only cause u problem. Being 27+7 years old I got what she meant and nodded ok mother in a deep tone.

I admired heroes so much for how cool and mighty they are to protect us from monsters and demons but all I wanted was a happy and a normal life with my family.

As my brother grew old he volunteered to work with his father in the field while sister helped mother. while I was not in the state to work I would still go to the field and try picking up some tools but my small hands couldn't. We were poor relying on Rice fields and vegetable fields for money and selling them to the market to get money for living. But I was happy it was the family I always wanted.

Although Demons and monsters don't appear in a remote village like ours. But misfortune doesn't stay away for long. One night after having dinner, when we were sleeping strange sounds started to sound, we came close to the window we could see the dark night became red as if the sun is raging upon the poor. Smokes appearing from a distance.Ground shaking (thum thum)with the storm blowing causing the fire to spread even faster.

Faster than I could think the fire has taken all over the place. Our house was on fire, the roof was falling. This was my first time facing death (it refer to his 1st time facing death as he was struck by a car before he knew it, so both cases are different ).

I was in fear my whole body stood still, I can't move my heart is throbbing, I breathed heavily and pinch my thigh several times like it was numb " move, get up"I said while pinching my thigh trying to get up.

Meanwhile, Father opens the door panicking, breathing heavily. He paused for a moment seeing our frightened face he calmed down he said" let's get out" as he was speaking this a wooden blog falls. Father immediately rushed towards us, shielding us with his body he took the hit from the falling log. The log broke into two.

He was on his knees, blood spill out from his mouth, he was in pain. He stood up and told get out hurry, but I couldn't, my body won't listen.

He said, "if u can't overcome fear there's no way you could ever become a hero, a hero faces death every now and then but someone who overcomes these fear is the standing top as a hero". These words came piercing my heart, I came to my sense, I stood up and started to run. "Runaway as far as u can, "he said. As I was outside the house I turned around, I saw him with a smile on his face even on his last breathe.

My two siblings got crushed with the wooden log, father couldn't protect them. I tried putting the flame off with my magic but I couldn't instead I spread the fire even more.

I rushed back towards them, The house collapsed in front of my eyes. I was on my knees, I fell in agony(Extreme pain)in my heart. I was hugged from behind it was my mother crying. She pulled me she said"there's no time to mourn" let's move there is a monster approaching.

She pulled me, to take me far away from the fire but the monster appeared from the fire. He howled in laughter, a laughter so wicked even a hero would fear.
