Bear Hunting! 

"GRRROOAH!!!!"

The Bear Monster with a ridiculously large body emitted a guttural and pained roar, its agony resonating through the air.

This was expected, after all, it had just been attacked with the Tier two Lightning Magic Spell; Sparkstrike, courtesy of Laurene.

Over her six months plus training under Chief Court Mage Jenson, the girl had become able to cast Tier 2 Spells that were meant for people above her existence level comfortably.

She could dish out around 5 before running out of magic completely, one of which she had decided to use against this Bear monster whose thick hide ignored all her tier 1 spells.

Worsening the Bear's current plight, a sword appeared out of thin air and pierce into the bear's open mouth, making it roar even more loudly in pain.

A certain hero who possessed a rare grade concealment skill had decided to test it out on the poor bear.

His skill was not only for concealing parts of his status but also his presence and at higher stages, he could even conceal his attacks. Anyway, he had used it when the monster's attention had been turned to Laurene, leading to the current situation.

Unless Evan was the one who attacked first, the bear which didn't possess a perception-type skill could not sense him and the boy took that chance to stab his magic-infused blade into its wide-open mouth.

On a side note, Ralphie could see Evan's movements that led up to the attack as clear as day due to the level difference.

"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The boy's attack evoked a scream far louder than any it had screamed since its birth.

A huge hole appeared on its tongue, causing multiple litters of blood to rain shoot up into the air and rain down like a fountain.

But the boy didn't stay in the same place after attacking, instead choosing to kick off the ground and to a different direction—a wise decision as the bear's thick front paw smashed into the same place he was a moment ago.

Its front paw seemed to enlarge as it attempted to swat Evan out of the air like one would a fly, but the boy somersaulted backwards and thrust his sword forward, sticking the blade into its front paw.

The combination of Evan's strength and the upward movement of the paw caused the blade to puncture the front paw deeply for an instant.

Rebound sent a jolt through his body, but he utilised it to free the blade from its forepaw and launch himself into the air.

The blood from the paw scattered into the air as if trying to create a rainbow, and Evan who was in the air couldn't help but wonder how much blood needed to spill before the creature passed out from anaemia.

'Paladin.'

He roused his magic power and activated his skill, causing a thin layer of white light to surround his body, something that attracted Ralphie's attention.

'Let's see how many skills I can have active at once…'

The boy thought to himself as he looked at the bear which had two holes pierced into its tongue and front paws, and was screaming in pain. Taking a deep breath, the boy activated his concealment skill once more, after confirming he was out of the bear's line of sight.

'Oh? I can handle two. Let's end this then.'

While thinking that to himself with an extra dose of confidence, he held his sword tight with both hands and aimed the blade at the head of the bear which was thrashing around violently.

And then, our good friend Gravity decided to begin pulling his body back towards the ground.

Evan focused his body weight onto the sword, with all the power of his 'D-' strength stat that granted him physical capabilities uncharacteristic of his twelve-year-old figure.

The bear howled in pain and was thrashing around, threatening to go out of his range if he was a bit late.

But Evan remained calm since he could just attack when he was on the ground as his concealment would remain active since he did not hit the bear.

Even so, his companion who was present took action to prevent the creature from going too far, launching a bolt of lightning straight at the hole in its paw that hit it and sent out electrifying energy that paralyzed the bear's movements.

'Nice one, Laurene!'

The boy held himself back from shouting that aloud and possibly startling the creature, infusing a bit more magic power into his blade.

His skill, Paladin enhanced his base stat values and his magic power infusion doubled his attack's power.

And the sword which contained all of that power with all his strength and weight behind it struck deep into the bear's head.

"GUA!!"

The Bear screamed out a single syllable, and then it screamed no more.

"Oh, he actually killed it like that."

The monster's large body which had lost any strength behind its movements leaned towards the ground as Evan quickly pulled out his sword and jumped away.

Right after, the lifeless corpse collapsed onto the ground with a booming sound.

Laurene looked at the monster and asked a three-word question that was considered forbidden amongst all gamers universally.

"Did it die?"

Evan instantly rushed towards her and covered her mouth.

"Don't ever say that revival spell again!"

Fortunately, the monster was already dead, and Evan could see the level-up notification informing him that he had levelled up to level 29.
