Chapter 2 - Journey of the End
Hey I know it doesn't look like it, but this will be a Gamer/System/Apocalypse novel but the skills/System don't really matter for the first couple chapters so there is no point in writing them in. If you're that worried just wait a couple chapter it will be explained the more and more you go into the novel.

Chapter 2 - Journey of the End
Alex gets all of his supplies without issue even picking up a book duplicating charm for just a few more gold ducats wasting most of his money.
He then starts traveling around his home town of Red-Rock named after the blood red rock that is quarried from this towns nearby quarry the main income and job producer of this area.
As he goes through the town person to person asking for their class, race, and traits he at first get denied but the more he asks the more and more info he gets. In a small town of 1000 the more people talk and the more people seek him out to give him info.

" There I'm done" exclaims Alex.
Finished Alex goes to search for Astrid. Not being at the fighting pit he goes to check her house being best friends for 25 years he opens her door and walks in before he starts to hear moaning. Wondering where it is coming from
he walks down her hallway into her room being as there is no door dividing the room he walks in to catch her.

he asks " Why didn't you wait up."
She looks over and responds " just because we're together doesn't mean I'm just gonna slack off"
"We-we are together?" He asks.
" Do you think you could fuck me and all of it would go back to the way it was yesterday" she stares directly into his eyes.
He stares straight back and says " No I just wanted to make sure we were both on the same page" he pauses " let go back home and get ready for the journey"
He turns around and walks back to his house grabs what ever left over trinkets and valuables around his house. He takes his shovel and digs straight down into the middle of his house hitting a piece of metal he digs out a weird glowing wooden box.
He bites his thumb and puts some of his blood on the front of the box the sound of glass shattering happens breaking the stasis box were he pulls out a magic locket. It was the first monster equipment drop when arriving to this new world it was at the time very exciting and the bonuses were pretty good but only for a mage type character so that's the reason he gave it to his now late brother Cassander or Cass like he like to be called.
Putting the pendent on he walks out his door. Astrid is waiting for him just outside, she sees the locket and immediately recognized it. Walking up and hugging him until he says " let's get going." breaking up they travel down the town road to the main gate. They look back at the town they have lived in for the last 5 years.
Alex then said " One down near infinite left to go" he opens the map picks the next location and closes it grabs Astrid's hand and start walking down the road to the next closest town.

Author's note: Hey nice slow start this chapter is setup the up coming journey and to flesh out the relationship a little more and emphasize that drastic wealth difference between a low to middle tier adventurer and one of the top I'm this kingdom.
As for why he lived in his shack and not with Astrid it's because he, 4 years ago, felt like it would just be a little bit before he himself would advance to class tier 4 and he didn't want to be a "Kept" man.
Again Statuses will start in a few chapters they just don't mean anything to the book right now.
